ABOUT BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" follows the exploits of hilarious Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and his stoically ever-professional captain, Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), along with their diverse, lovable colleagues as they police the NYPD's 99th Precinct. In this final season of the series, Jake and the squad must try to balance their personal lives and their professional lives over the course of a very difficult year.
Rounding out the ensemble is Sgt. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumera), who has a passion for organization and a weakness for dork dancing; Lt. Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), a mountain of a man whose most powerful muscle is his sweetheart; Jake's best friend and human puppy dog, Det. Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio); and the incredibly secretive, tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz). Also part of the Nine-Nine are veteran officers Det. Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Det. Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), whose only skill as police officers is their ability to make a passable pot of coffee.
Created by Emmy Award-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" won the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical (Samberg). Emmy winner Braugher earned four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Capt. Holt.

We've heard you! Watch here the underrated cold opens you think we've missed: ruclips.net/video/3M4q4JWEioQ/видео.html
I love that the “Charles’s oldest bag” bit is getting more love. Melissa Fumero said it’s her favorite cold open of the show because Andy’s laughter is genuine.
Rewatched the clip after reading your comment and I can really hear it from 1:37 to 1:42. You can tell it’s genuine because it’s so different from how Jake usually laughs. It’s really nice to hear tbh
when did she say that?
it's weird how you can tell but it doesn't take you out of it just adds to it
Aw, yeah, I love it, it's so cute, his laugh's so pure, the way he puts his hands on his face.
Charles’s line of “She was actually That’s how I met her!” must have been a line only he knew was scripted to get that reaction from everyone.
"It's a suicide mission"
"THEN PREPARE FOR DEATH"
🤣🤣
My favourite cold open ever
SAME!!!!
Best of the bunch
Naw bottom tear at best. 7/10
The flawless energy MAKES that scene
Holt calling marshmallow as "marshed-mallow" is the most Holty thing ever.
Let the Holt Off BEGIN!!!!!!
What is this glutenous monstrosity before me?
@@erynnmurphy2996 nuh uh that's rejected lmao
@@erynnmurphy2996 *boyle Noises*
It’s top notch
The criminal cheering on Jake while he was sliding is an underrated moment in the whole show 😂
Isn't that Constantine Kane (Amy's former hookup)
Holts reaction at the end makes it 👌🏻
@@JamesLaverty08 I was thinking the same thing 😂
You could say it's criminally underrated.
Season and episode anyone?
Love the look of Rosa’s face when she realized what Boyle was talking about when they were listing their oldest arrest.😆
Her voice changed too. It went more toward her real voice.
I love that "Charles beds an older woman" cold open.
How is "the full bullpen" underrated. It's a classic!
I though the FBP was one of the favourites to be honest as well. The 80s music, slow-mos and Holt's reaction at the end are all brilliant.
@@cruachan1191 yeah and that's why it is not underrated
Can't even like the comment. Its stuck at a perfect 420.
I remember the full bullpen basically being the first thing I ever saw of B99 since I clicked on exactly one of those best B99 cold open ever videos. So I'm totally with you on this. No idea how this could ever classify as underrated. It's literally one of those clips that got me into watching the show!
Edit: Also the Holt impression clip is in this video? Who made this list?!
Bull pen is my favourite
The “I want it that way” cold open cannot be overrated. No matter how high we rate or praise that, it will never be enough
It is therefore adequately rated.
I was gonna say- it doesn't have to be a black or white thing. It's aptly rated. Everyone loves it because it's good.
@@ajaykandhari always underrated. I don’t think we can rate it highly enough.
You are missing the meaning of word "underrated". By Cambridge dictionary it means "better or more important than most people believe". So if people believe "No matter how high we rate or praise that, it will never be enough" it's adequately rated.
@@bartomiejjedlikowski280 You’re missing the point of my post, but okay.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has always been so high quality that the only way you can tell what season something is from by what iPhones people are holding
and andy's hair
And jake and Amy's relationship
And Rosa’s voice
@@rangerlove7 literally her voice is so high in the first season
@@hlbh222 omg fr!! when i rewatched season 1 it threw me off how high pitched her voice was!!
Nobody can convince me that Jake’s reaction to Boyle’s oldest bag isn’t just Andy breaking character. It’s so natural.
It is actually
1:28 Andy's laugh is so genuine lol
That had to have been improvised just based on everyone's reactions lol
Tru😂🔥
'' dont knock it till you try it she had a replacement hip with some SERIOUS touqe!' lmao yeah can tell andy broke charcter
That makes that cold open - Charles' oldest bag so much better.
You can hear him say joe lol
I liked the one we’re Amy try’s to trick holt into giving him a present but he thinks it’s a bomb😂
N it got way out of controlfast hahahah
6:15 Captain Holt’s “marshed mellow” reaction will forever make a great ringtone
i don’t think people know what the term “underrated” is because literally every one of these except the second to last one are some of the most popular cold opens!
The problem with underrated things is if a lot of people rate something as good, is it really underrated? And therefore isn't a poll on underrated things redundant?
@@akashchoudhary8162 Also, people who watch these videos and vote in these polls are probably not casual fans.
yeah it's one of the most misused words on the internet. people use the word underrated if they mean things they like.
All "underrated" things you see on the internet are actually not underrated. Point is, if they were actually underrated, by definition most people wouldn't like it, so it won't get a lot of views.
@Niek de Gier no? underrated means it deserves more attention but doesn’t get it, it doesn’t mean they’re bad or ‘badly rated’. so even if these cold opens are still very loved, they don’t get as much attention and recognition as some others. that’s what makes them underrated.
I think Holt overheard their impressions of him eating a marshmallow and copied Charles's impression just to mess with them. Change my mind.
I don’t want to change your mind
Nah, you just have to understand that Boyle is the embodiment of empathy. He gets other people.
Terry talks about nutritional qualities, because that's what he cares about.
Rosa talks about the trait of marshmallows that makes them not "tough".
Gina is just superficial.
Jake envisions Holt judging things harshly, because he craves his appreciation.
Boyle however fully gets into the role because he puts his own bias aside.
@@DrZaius3141 Boyle is so underrated, for so many reasons. This is one of them.
@@DrZaius3141Awesome analysis! Boyle also understands food and food relationships. But I think this was more of an empathy thing.
Jake pushing Charles out of the way for the free candy 😂😂😂😂😂
When Boyle was probably racing to get candies for Jake
IKR IT GETS ME EVRY SINGEL TIME
Love that one! Mostly because I would do the same thing, hands down
Even the tightest bromances have their limits. He’s only human. And it was free candy.
1. Suicide Mission
2. Oldest Bags
3. The Best Restaurant in Brooklyn
4. Full Bullpen
5. Thanks, Dad
6. The Holt Off
7. Food Truck Parking
8. Personalized High-Fives
Also Marshed Mallow would have worked
these are NOT underrated lmao, jake calling holt dad is one of the most famous moments of the show! i was really hoping holts red hat would be on here 😂
I thought he looked great in that hat.
holt looked like padington during that scene😅
That’s one of the best ones! I love the hat!
He looked like Mary Poppins
SAME! The red hat is one of my absolute favourite and so underrated😂
To think Holt had a special high five for everyone but Jake was just an epic punishment!!! 😅
The Full Bullpen is one of my favorite B99 moments. One of the perfect subversions of Holt's no-nonsense attitude.
I really like the Charles with the old lady one, because it feels so natural for some reason. I don't know if I can properly explain it, but usually the actors have some manneirism for their characters, that it's not so present here, and make things so real, like actual coworkers hearing this in the beggining of a long day. It's cool.
(For example, you would expect Jake's voice to high up a little when delivering the "that's not an older woman" cause he usually does in moments like this, and yes it's funny. But here, he keeps his normal tone and it's still very funny.)
I think the thing that makes it more real like is Jake's laugh . Melissa said it was her favourite cold open because his laugh was geniune
yesss! i realised it rewatching it there, it's Andy's actual laugh and it is priceless-
and when Beatriz said "Charles isn't talking about his oldest arrest", it's her voice as well, and not really Rosa's, which I love too for some reason
Raymond doesn't get much accolades for all those intricate and personal Hi-Fi.The man's an acting legend
I think the most underrated cold open is "Look at the three of us, just three people having a conversation.....all with pants on...."
I love the “Diane Wheast infection” bit. The silence, the face Andy makes, it just gets me every time
I've seen that first cold open many times but it still makes me believe Andy Samberg can act in serious, somber roles even though the context makes it comedic
yeah his versatility is amazing
The Hitchcock sauce one ALWAYS gets me 😂😂😂
“Why is everyone staring at me?”
I love how that’s not an exaggeration, literally everyone on set stood still and looked at him
Jake: "Thanks, Dad."
Everyone in the precint: * eyeballing him *
I just noticed something in the Holt marshmallow opening. Jake starts his impression by saying he doesn’t care for it and then asks Holt if he cares for it. I think Jake was setting him up so his impression would win.
My favorite cold open was from The Jig House, when Charles is dreaming about Jake being released from prison, and even Terry wakes him up he says “why did you wake me up?? I told you never to wake me up!”
Charles’s oldest bag: I love that even Scully was disgusted by it. And he even walks away mid way
About every 3 days I think about what was Amy's guess for the Holt's marshmallow voice
prob didnt wanna take part lets be honest
5:15 guy confessed to a crime to back up the rest of them. Lol
Going to prison, went into hiding for months and facing death constantly:
Jake: I sleep
Stop Hitchcock from spilling on himself:
Jake: IT’S A SUICIDE MISSION
Holt: THEN PREPARE FOR DEATH
1:35 i'm 100% sure that's andy's laugh 💓
Should have included "Mr. Graaaaapes", Jake pranking a sleeping Hitchcock twice where he somehow nearly dies🤣🤣 and Boyle at Halloween dressed as Elvis, the Canadian figure skater.
Also Jake breaks the handle of the interrogation room door and freaks out, "WE'RE GONNA DIE IN HERE" 🤣
And the Dianne weist infection.
Capt. Holt assigns Jake to make sure Hitchcock stays presentable for court means that it's important for the precinct. The fact that Holt doesn't make Hitchcock keep a change of clothes on the premises is on him.
I think most of these cold opens aren't really underrated. They're literally the famous and most favorite ones. But still these are classics! I wish they added Holt's wrist injury, yep yep yep yep coffee scene, Jake's prank on Scully and when the squad dressed up in Halloween except for Boyle, then when Boyle came back after putting a costume, they were all in a civilian outfit BWHAHAHHA
I love the fact that we can clearly see Andy's genuine laughter in the "oldest bags" one
the fact that they used never gonna stop us now by starships ( and many more great music), shows that the people handling the show have very good taste in musing
Never gonna give you up
THANK YOU NOBODY I KNOW LIKES THAT SONG AS MUCH AS I DO
“That is NO ONE’S fantasy!”
Well…
I'd do stuff with Prime Arcee.
@@ombranox as a pansexual I would take Bulkhead and give it to Elita-1
The full bullpen is one of my favourites, it shows how much Holt actually cares about the squad and their "stupid" traditions and challenges, and not just about their job an arrests
I love when Holt celebrates immature things.
The most underrated one is the one where they move Holts standing table by ½ inch and he calls Kevin about it even after the opening.
01:36 that seemed like a real laugh. I can imagine them breaking quite a bit but I guarantee this is a real laugh that made it in.
I love petty Holt making up high fives even with the dude from xerox.
And Gina going “it’s like we’re being punished” and admitting she doesn’t pay attention to what people say.
I love how over the seasons Holt just leaned into the nonsense...
Holt screaming The Full Bull Pen is Just 😭😭😭😭.. Sorry give a minute. 😭😭🥰Is beautiful, he really is the Dad of the 9-9.
Charles’ food truck is underrated for sure, one of my biggest laughs in the show
Holt referring to a marshmallow as a "marshed mallow" is incredibly funny
THE FULL BULLPEN!!!! I love when Holt joins in the hijacks.
I love the criminals having lines lol
I absolutely ADORE the part at 1:13 when Rosa realizes what Charles's talking about
I love how Holt and Amy were the hardest sticklers for propriety and rules, and now they're just as chaotic as the rest of the squad.
3:41 Yep, that’s my mom showing her support for my dad on his quest for the FBP, a feat that’s never been equalled. *Nine Nine!*
You’re like 2 smh
@@haemorange Yeah, but my dad’s the world’s greatest detective & my mom’s, well, my mom’s a Santiago. In our house, you learn fast! 😉

@@macperaltasantiagoyou must have the coolest parents
@@itsmezak8336 it’s true!
Food Truck Mad Max is the most intensely funny thing I’ve ever seen.
Charles’ “I knew it!” is just perfect!
I wish every scene could be as genuine as Andy's laugh on the Oldest Bag open
“The full bull pen!” One of the best holt moments lmao
THOSE were the underrated ones?! Every single one of these was iconic !! Thank you for this video !!
The criminal cheering for the full bullpen 😂
What about the “Weist Infection” open? All these were some of the best ones tho… NGL 😂😂😂
THE FULL BULLPEN! One of the greatest moments in the show.
Who would dare consider the full bullpen underrated it’s perfectly top rated
2:47 the fact that jake pushes charles to the ground makes me laugh everytime
7:45
After Boyle does his high five, he should’ve left, but when Terry does his, you can see Boyle standing there.
Little mistake.
Charles exploding with joy when he got the holt marshmallow impression right is hilarious
Holt raising Jake’s hand after he did the full bull pen will never not be funny! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The marshmallow one is too good 😂
Cold openings are a great way to start the episode because they’re all really funny 😂💯
1:36 His laugh. 😭
indeed indeed indeed
Excuse me 🙋🏻♀️ you guys missed the iconic Babushka grandma 👵🏻
You say underrated...but most of these are iconic.
Especially "THE FULL BULLPEN!!"
3:36 Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa) breaks character.
Omg I haven't noticed until now!
1:41 Sambergs laugh is so funny 🤣
I just like how for the vending machine part hichcock is the only one with a proper saluting position 💀
Full bullpen is not underrated. It’s in every one of these compilations!
There is nothing underrated in brooklyn 99 and the fact that it's over still hurts my soul
Not a single one of these is underrated. I, along with all of my friends, love all of these.
I love that in the vending machine one Andy pushes Jo to the floor when they all rush towards the thing
how is the full bullpen underrated it's one of the most iconic openings lmao
but loved this! nice to see some other opens getting some love
*THE FULL BULLPEN!!!!* will never stop being the best
2:50 THE FULL BULLPEN FTW!!!!
My favourite is still the one when Holt injures himself and tell confesses to Jake that he hurt himself hula hooping.
The one where Holt’s uncle died and the e-mail Jake sent is absolutely one of my fav.
the marshmallow one is my favourite, along side with scully's fish and hitchcock's sauce one
at 2:47 when jake says free candy and pushes charles, cant stop laughing!! 😂
1:36 Jake’s laugh sounds so genuine here and it gives me life
Man everytime I look back at the old episodes and can’t believe how much Holt changed hard to believe such a strict emotionless guy became well….. Jake
One of my favourite cold opens that I think has been very underrated was Operation Saving Private Pigeon (S5E16). Made me laugh out loud the first time out of shock and I had to pause the episode for a moment to recover. Since it is slightly shock factor it potentially can't be rewatched much, but it's still a favourite for me just because of how it felt to watch it the first time.
Yo, when the vending machine broke, Charles got yeeted by Jake, lmao
"The Marshmallow" always gets me. "I KNEW IT!!!" cracks me up every time idk why xD
Most underrated cold open. Hula Hoop Incident. [That one will ever believe.]
Does Jake have a bagpipe version of Amazing Grace saved on his cell phone? 2:30
At 5:27 jakes shirts does something odd I do if it the youtube vid or it happened on tv
Love the show! Sad it's over. Thanks for all the laughs!
1:35 Even _Scully_ is grossed out by Charles. Wow
That’s Scully.
@@Dovi94 My bad. Thanks for correcting me.
Who would have thought Boyle to make the perfect Holt impression while eating a marshmellow!
the FULL BULLPEN!
