All the comforts of home Paddy, but all beautifully simple. There is so much joy in the simple things of life. Always look forward to your vids, you and Goji are a great team.
Thats a genius shelter, I am amazed so little rain got in. Your fire pit looks perfect for baking a crumble or small loaf in a small dutch oven after the stones have heated up
I get so excited when I see you’ve posted another video. Loved it! Hope you and Goji are enjoying your new adventure into the world of you-tubing. Best of luck! ❤ 🐶
Man! I'm continuously and thoroughly impressed with your channel Paddy! Always something new! You have the most innovative bushcraft channel I've seen! There's a bunch of channels that ALWAYS copy what the bigger names are doing, but i haven't seen you ever do that. Not only are you creating ORIGINAL content, but you're funny as hell also! Like when you banged your head at the one shelter and laughed about it.. Which made it even funnier because you laughed at yourself! 😜😂 Stay yourself and you'll go far in this! It's an amazing talent you have brother! ✊🤠
Dogge made me cry, as it reminded me of the one I've just had to say goodbye to. Into every, he was, and the very best of helpers… especially when it came to digging. And running around collecting (and the piling up) windfall apples.
I always wondered what Goji's last name is? Now I know.... dishwasher! 🤣🤭 he is so cute! And your ideas of buildings like ever....amazing! Thanks for sharing these beautiful ideas with us. Mon@ 🇩🇪

@@PaddysBushcraft And rightly so, gas watching Goji wolfing down the hot food, and listening to you laugh knowing he must have burnt his tongue, he is such a good boy, he is so well trained.

A construção do abrigo vendo no vídeo parece pequeno mas por dentro é bem espaçoso e seguro. Gostei D+, principalmente do cãozinho 😍❤️🐕, saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷👏
Another great video Paddy well done 😊. Your stew bowl looks very much like the ones on sale earlier in the year in Home store and more, two for €2. If so they both will fit inside a Trangia 28 if you have one, just some useless info for you. Regards from another Dub 😊.

22:21 We called them Toy Soldiers. Runny egg and cut the toast into 5 fingers. Cut the top with a knife then dip the fingers into the Eggs. Not sure where it came from. I am Australian, but nanna would make us them when we were young and my mum. Going back 35+ years. I loved them though. EDIT: I looked it up. A British term that refers to a piece of toast cut into thin strips reminiscent of the formation of soldiers on parade.
i see shelters like that and im like if im planning to build one bring some plastic put it as a water proofing layer and then put grass and such on top to cover that up
Love what you did as a shelter, but there are some issues. If I was out there and see that, I would certainly investigate. If it was to be undetectable, you should have had leaves, twigs and other remains of the trees on top to show that it was something that had been there for a long time. Perhaps, rub the ends of the trunks with earth, to give an "old" effect. This way, it would go more unnoticed, perhaps even as if it were a simple wind shelter or something like that. Keep up the good work.
Let me start off by saying that I loved every part of your video. However, I wonder if you know..... onions are toxic to dogs? Not a commonly known fact. Just keeping the dog in mind..... Hopefully you guys have many many more adventures together....
Didn't they used to stuff moss in the cracks between logs of a wall a lot ng time ago? Or was that a clay like mud? Or both. I heard about that a long time ago so im not sure. Pretty nifty building, though.
Please reconsider attaching the video camera to the dog. The view jumps all around when the cameramutt runs around, making me car sick. I'm already feeling rocky from a lightning strike about ½ an hour ago. I know for an absolute fact that it was basically right on top of us, as the blast of thunder came literally just a fraction of a second later. I was, and still am, sitting next to the window. Well, after a brief rainstorm, the sun is back out. I hope we don't get any more unpleasant surprises.
Your Dog has ZERO care for looking like a guts and gobbling their food up. But I don't blame them with the beef stew. I would have gobbled that up myself! Looked very tasty. Do you have an ingredient list for the stew? I got most of the vegetables written down, just wondering on spices added etc.
@@PaddysBushcraftin parts of the great plains of America the first settlers built houses out of the grass sod. Putting a solid framework on the roof and covered that with sod too. A little rain and the roof was lush with growth. Used up a lot of grass though And to support the roof and doorway they travel to get wood from forests. Chimneys required rocks.
New here, just subscribed, and already playing with your idea - If you built it between two relatively close together trees, put more and stronger supports inside, and chinked it super well with clay, you could then fill in the rest of the space between the trees with similar logs - your shelter would be completely hidden in an actual logpile. Haven't figured out what to do with the fireplace though ... maybe put it a little further away near a decoy tent... So looking forward to binging on more of your videos!
First impressions: wow, what a really well trained dog and great companion. Second impressions: really, really solid shelter! Love the video!

Have you thought about stapling a tarp to the interior to keep the rain off? Unfortunately, it would take away from the aesthetic of the interior.

What would you build a shelter out of if you were stranded in place like the Blasket islands where there are no trees?
You can only work with the materials you have 🤷🏼♂️ I'm looking at a new spot now with no trees and I'm trying to figure out that exact thing 🤔
