Am I the only one who just appreciated the team work of these two so much? I love how they complement each other and how the relationship shines through just a little bit

I didn't manage to catch the sectional live this time but I would like to thank you so much Eric and Laurence for hosting this session. I think what I miss the most about choral singing isn't just the voices blending in the room - it's also the exchange of energy and ideas between singer and conductor that often transcends words alone. Thank you so much again and I'll love to catch your next session live!

totally made my day! as an alto 1, you have no idea how much fun it is to sing both the sop and alto lines, but after listening to this wonderful tutorial, i can't wait to record the alto part! and thanks so much for the terrific technique tips!

This is great! Warming up with you and your wife cracks me up every time. She makes the best faces. 😆 I loved hearing about all the little details and nuances and intentions behind the piece. Those delicate little dissonances are my absolute favorite part.

Couldn't catch it live, but it is amazing to follow the instruction from the video. Very inspiring to listen how Eric thinks about the parts, the notes and how to express it in words. Eventhough there aren't people in the room, it really felt he was talking to mé. Thanks Eric and Laurence.

What a lovely session! I am a 66-year old retired music teacher with asthma and a lot of vocal wear and tear. This piece is so beautiful and yet so accessible, and I appreciate that so much. Looking forward to recording "with" all of you.

Thank you for this. This was super helpful all around. The warm-ups were excellent and I could immediately feel the difference in my voice. Thanks for walking us through the alto part with the piano and with your vision for how you want the piece to feel when we sing it. I'll probably watch this more than once!

I love the dissonance in your arrangements. It gives me all the feels. As a harmony singer in the barbershop style, I sing Baritone which, to me, has all the yummy chords and we rub against the Lead line quite often. Looking forward to this experience. I’m a first timer but have embraced your music for years.

I came to choral singing from barbershopping as well...problem is, I have to be an alto when I am a baritone at heart! Sigh. Choral director only has menas baritones and basses!

Hello from Uruguay!!! I'm so glad I can participate for the second time in your project... this piece is absolutely wonderful. What I enjoy the most is the possibility of being conducted through the piece by the author himself, which provides an incredible understanding of the whole idea... so, THANK YOU, ERIC for this opportunity. I'm almost ready to record, but if there will be another instance of rehearsal, I'll wait a bit more.

Thank you so much! This was truly lovely and inspiring (and sweet you two!). I have one question that didn't get addressed. At the end of the piece - measure 64 to 65, are we to take a breath between 'gently' and 'as'?

Whew, love the feel of being in a choir sectional again! One question - where should we place the "t" of "gently" at mm63-64? I'm singing it as gently (haha) touching the "ly" ("gen - tly") right now but don't know if you want it more distinct? I would absolutely LOVE to see more voice workshops btw

That was a beautiful explanation of how you want the song sung. Your wife helped a lot! Great team! Thank you! I have a question. Will there be someone to sing each part all the way through as a learning tool. Although I can read music, I can learn much quicker if I had my voice part sung all the way through. I am an Alto. There is a method to my madness. :D Once I hear it all, I add the next layer of finesse and incorporate the notes you gave us. Is that possible?

Kay Withers Hi! Yes, on virtualchoir6.com you’ll find the guide track with each voice highlighted. (I think it’s also here on RUclips.) There are also audio files for each voice. I was able to download one with piano and alto, from a link on the FAQs. Hope this helps.
