Whenever they focus on fursuits, I do not consider it a very accurate portrayal. Those fans represent less than one percent of the fandom. Even the cosplayers represent less than half. Still much better than the horrendous interview that was done at the first Bronycon in January 2012.
I was there. I miss bronycon already but I’m happy to have made so many friendships. And even though the show is ending, I’m happy to have made so many friends and it’s not the end of the world. I can still like Mlp how much as I want :) (even if I don’t like season 9 too much lol)

mlp has had a large fanbase since its premiere in the 80s - although the current generation is coming to an end, me and most other fans will stick around to see what the next generation will have to offer :) sad to see bronycon go as it was such a central event for the fandom, but other cons will always be around and the online fanbase definitely isn't going anywhere. i'm looking forward to what the future of the franchise will bring!
It was because of the final Bronycon that I met a friend that I thought I had lost 6 years ago. I thought he disappeared forever. He was the reason why I stumbled upon this show and joined the fandom... I have never felt so much shock, yet so much happiness until I came to this con. It was honestly some of the best days of my life.
As soon as I saw the intro with the male reporter I was like “here we go again” but then after watching the whole thing with a few fact mistakes I was glad we weren’t bashed on like fox did

I'm inclined to think G5 will fail in general. The series Friendship is Magic has for the most part always been a commercial, either to sell merchandise or attract viewers to the Hub/Discover Family to sell merchandise of their other franchises. G4 merchandise has almost disappeared from stores, and the quality looks like Hasbro isn't even trying to appeal to fans. Maybe G5 will have high sales, but based on Hasbro's history with the franchise probably not. I'm certain it will never reach the level of craze it did around 2013 with MLP products having a lot of shelf space in stores like Hot Topic, Spencer's, and FYE. Build a Bear still sells G4, but I don't think they'll carry G5.

That's why a lot of people either stopped watching the series, or stopped calling themselves a "brony" over the years. If someone has a critical opinion about an episode, a character, etc., then the loudest members of the fandom can be very aggressive or hostile toward them, whether the critic is a brony or not. Obviously, the abundance of R34 content also brings a lot of hate toward the fandom.
I so wish I could have gone. But Baltimore's just too expensive of a trip for me, since a) I'm a student who doesn't have a ton of money to just throw around, and b) I live in Arizona. I ended up settling for Everfree Northwest, which is still a great con. But I'll never be able to attend such a spectacular event as this one, the perfect compromise between SDCC and an MLP-exclusive event.
