life rule: always click on a marty short clip, it's never a disappointment
I totally agree! Funny 100% of the time
I completely agree!
I love him! He is always a class act no matter how ridiculous he is; he’s always in on the joke.
absolutely! Love the guy. Hi from UK ;)
always noseworthy!
I love love love Nathan Thurm. The character makes me laugh because I have known so many A-holes like him throughout my life. You can ALWAYS count on a Nathan Thurm turning up.
One of my favourite skits is with Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest as synchronized swimmers. I saw it when I was 14 and I still watch it from time to time at 50.
That was Harry Shearer and Martin Short.
Martin is amazing. I could listen for hours to his stories.
Martin short is a legend. I love this guy.
"And Steve is gonna play all the chalk outlines on the show."
Ok, I lost it there.
I love how Martin Short remembers so many names and people. I am sure there are actors/famous people out there who couldn't tell you a makeup lady's name from last year let alone decades ago. I love this man so much. He is so good and just look at Seth. LOL!! Martin is so good with all of the late night hosts.
Man, he is relentlessly sharp. What a legend xxxs
Somehow watching Carl Reiner clips led to watching every Martin Short talk show appearance. There is no one else I’d be so delighted to see telling the same story on difference shows over 4 different decades.
Exactly! He’s magical that way.
He is a blast!!
even with sarcasm and he's joking, martin short knows he's a legend and not afraid to flaunt it.
I disappointed to share that I was today years old when I learned about Nathan Thurm and he’s now one of my favorite characters of all time.
Never too late to discover brilliance
Well, I wouldn't exactly call this a 'reveal'. Marty's shared this anecdote repeatedly over the years. Don'tchu think I know that? I know that. I'm a fan, of course I know that!
Almost as good as his Tony Randall stories.
I didn't know that or that he was Canadian.
@@paultuke5110 MAH-RTIN? MAAAH-RTIN?!
Same! I think he told this on The Tonight Show. But I still love him!
True Paul Tuke.
I love his performance in the most underrated movie out there, Mars Attacks.
Yes! The immortal sleaze of him with that dolled-up Martian
This was the ONLY movie that ever gave me real bellyaches, from laughter. 😁
Martin's synchronized swimming SNL skit is one of the funniest.
Wasn’t that Christopher Guest’s skit?
@@whiskeyricard Martin Short played the weird-looking one who did "deckwork."
Martin Short is always a brilliant guest...his stories are hilarious.
My fave interviews are when the guest cracks Seth up really badly!
He is so funny I literally laughed one or two seconds after it was over, when I got the joke! SOME of my kids 🤣
I love Martin Short so, so much! He’s so funny and so cute!!
I agree, I must say!
I adore Martin Short. He is Gene Wilder Funny.
He's really close. But there'll never be another Wilder...
Oh my goodness, that might just be the nicest compliment 😍
Gene Wilder was a quintessential writer...Marty was the quintessential mirror of looking behind the curtain and making it understandable to everyone.
Hahaha! My daughter and I would say, I knew that, I can't believe you thought that I didn't know that. I know that. 😂 Great!
Martin Short is just the best.
I've never heard this confirmed, but I have to think that the character of 'Doris' on 'The Critic' was inspired by the same hair/makeup lady that gave us Nathan Thurm. They are ridiculously similar.
Makes sense. Lovitz was on the show around the same time.
*KUDOS* to *Martin Short* for making Seth giggle like a schoolgirl! I've rarely seen him show level of giddiness ;)
I miss his seeing him on SNL and other shows or movies. Absolute genius and came up with hysterical characters.
I have had a crush on Martin Short for like the past decade, and I'm 33. Is that weird?
I don't think so, he's incredibly cute!
Jess Witherspoon ..."I know that"
@Jess Witherspoon Also, never underestimate the attraction power of being a true, comedic genius - plus Marty is a cutie-pie.
I've been crushing on him since 3 Amigos. So damn funny and cute!❤️
He did a movie in 80s where he was the heart throb, wish I could remember name...worth watching
If Steve does the chalk outlines in the show, just don't forget to add in the banjo.
Martin Short is so funny, charming and gracious.
Martin Short needs to be brought onto SNL to reprise Nathan Thurm character as a Conservative Analyst on SNL News.
Love Marty. He has been a favorite of mine since the early days on SCTV. Such a wonderful goofy personality. You just can't be down when watching him being zany and off the wall.
Nathan Thurm would be the corporate lawyer who represents Dan Akroyd's Irwin Mainway character/company - the guy who offered up "Bag O' Glass" for kids.
Not exactly the same as Thurm, but almost as reprehensible was the Neil Sussman agent character Short played in the film "The Big Picture". His line "I don't know you. I don't know your work. But I think you are a very very talented young man, and I'm never wrong about these things". was delivered brilliantly. A short role but every bit as memorable as Thurm.
Damn that Martin is funny.
Martin Short has been a comic treasure ever since he started-out on "SC-TV" way back in like 1981.
Harry Shearer did a perfect Mike Wallace. Perhaps he could do Chris, too?
He was funny. Thank you.
geez, i love this guy. never enough . short. the greatest side guy.
Always ending up shedding tears when I see Marty.
I miss seeing more of Martin Short. Love the guy.
Martin Short is absolutely right. Nathan Thurm is the lawyer for our time.
I used to get sweaty and nervous just watching "Nathan Thurm." When I was a kid and people smoked everywhere they pleased, being in a closed room that was super hot and humid, with a chain smoker, was the worst but as a kid I had no say in it. Twist and squirm, Nathan Thurm.
that drunken assistant sounded like a bobcat goldthwait impersonation
He's the BEST!
Love him so much. Clifford became a Grandfather lol.
This guy always delivers.
I forgot how funny Martin can be
He is sooooooo funny 😆😆😆😆
Mother of god, that was a great character!!!
7/18/2020, who are the 9 miserable people who disliked THIS video. Martin short is a national treasure and if you're disliking Seth, stop engaging with his youtube channel.
I am Canadian...I see Martin Short...I click. In this case, I get two delights...Marty being Marty, and Seth's giggle. What's not to like?! Congrats on the Grandchild, Martin. Me too. Held her once, just as everything was shutting down, then not again for 3+ Months. Damn near killed us, but everyone is healthy and that's what matters. 👍❤️🇨🇦
I would never have guessed the style of denial was inspired by a makeup artist
In the beginning when Seth said Nathan Thurm wouldn't be the right character today, I wish Martin would have said, "Yes, he would. Why wouldn't he? It's so funny that you would think that he wouldn't be the right guy right now!"
Is that what he said? or is that what you say? Because if that's what he said, then I disagree, but if that's what you say, then I also disagree.
Martin Short is a comic genius!
Wow marty has changed a bit, more savage. Gotta love him
I didn’t see the baby yesterday because he had Pilates😂😂😂😂😂😂
Watch Seth Meyers fangirl for 7 minutes. This is cute xD
Not quite Ed Grimly’s forlorn studio apartment.
So so good.
So Steve Martin has an a Emotional Support Banjo.
Martin Short, Brilliant man! ( he knows that, you don't think he knows that!)
If you’ve not seen Clifford (Martin Short, Charles Grodin and Mary Steenburgen) you’re missing out.
Marty short is the funniest dude on earth
Prophetic
I know that, you don't think I know that . It's so funny that you don't think I know that
Thirty rears ago, he said it was a caricature of Roy Cohn.
i love martin short i love nathan thurm more
It's takes Martin's genius to play stupid so well.
martin big.. rooom
Lmmao, soo funny!
I Vow that from today forward I.. I shall BE Nathan Thurm.
Jo Jorgensen For President 2020!
You know the thing
Please do a bit with Nathan Thurm & Trump.
That was the most burn on u Seth I ever seen. And u laughed. U must really respect him a lot. 🤔🥴
Comedians are able to understand when something is a joke & take it as such.
MrsBungle78 ...that’s true. I agree. But he didn’t let up. Way too many burns. It was hard to watch.
Great guest, but the poor audio kind of makes this interview stressful to listen to.
I thought Thurm was based on Roy Cohn, Trump's mentor and mafia lawyer.
It must be very cold in Martin's place. The lens keeps fogging.
He's 70...Let's give him a pass.
Kelly Ann Conway learned her personality from Nathan Thurm.
Marty's camera 📸 has cataracts. It's so fuzzy.
Jackie Robinson Jr's $100,000 Jackpot Wad
Best SNL sketch until Appalachian Emergency Room which was subsequently bested by Close Encounter
jackie rogers, jr
Marty, please play Willy Wonka in The Great Glass Elevator.
Funniest man ever.
Nathan Thurmp.
how is martin short not 90 years old. he looked 55 on snl
Nathan Thurm Ooooooooooo
This interview is FAR MORE FUNNY and "productive" than the other one. Not sure what THAT one was about...too much male ego sparring or what? Just kinda weird. But THIS interview is both of you having a good ol' snl/sctv time. And yes, holyshit, Nathan Thurm is art that became life way too spot on. But good to see Martin is still as caustically adorable as always or maybe more adorably caustic now that he's a grandpa and one of the oldies and gets to be that. I'll not say adorably curmudgeon. (rolls eyes) Thanks for having him on. btw love the new digs too but Ol' Cappy might prefer a big wonkin' tall ship on the mantle instead of that toy boat. I agree.
There is an SNL sketch featuring Nathan Thurman that is a must-see for Martin Short fans: ruclips.net/video/qWomk2yt-C8/видео.html
Wow, Martin Short is still alive!?
Boring: I knew all this.
Anthony Fauci = Nathan Thurm
Wow, one of the funniest people ever on tv talking to one of the unfunniest people to ever make it on tv.
If Nathan Thurm was the POTUS,... I wonder how he would act ?? Hhhmmmnnnnnnnnnnn........
The thumbnail for this video looks like a Before and After of some drug (meth?)
You be the judge whether it goes right to left or left to right.
Seth Myers was on SNL & cannot remember Short's characters name? Much like his show, unfunny, uninsightful & dead-on dull.
