Good show ! You flew your 'heebie' Pitts quite well. Enjoyed the aerobatics - and the Pitts is really good at that. You made a very pretty landing - but your grumpy grass just would not leave it alone. Lordy - I think it is about time for you all to have some rabbit stew.
Thank you, Martyn! Despite the diminutive proportions, she truly is a proper eyeful 😍 I love the look, but it'll take a while still for me to be comfortable with this Hot Tomato 🥵🍅
I love the 850 Pitts but mine was from FMS not E-flite. I have to do a mod to keep the battery tray from sliding back because the tabs that hold the tray in place got worn after 40 flights so I added a foam piece to the cowling that prevents tray movement. Great fun watching Gina fly and 70% of the smaller planes tip over in any grass. You are not alone in that, Enjoyed watching PRCAC
Hi Tug! Thanks for your kind words, Sir! I'll keep a weather eye on my battery tray is this model. I tried flying my Dynam Hurricane again and had the battery shift backwards, resulting in a crash landing. I'm in two minds as to share the video of that calamity, or not.
@@purcellrcaviationchannel Oh heck ! I hate to hear about your Hurricane problems. Of all of your planes - that is one of my favorites. The two of you have been through so much - it seems that she has a lot of character at this point. I hope you can do your magic and restore any damage.
@@jollyroger2226 Thanks, JR! I pleased to know you like the Hurricane as well; despite the stormy relationship I seem to have with it, she does remain one of my all-time favourite models to own. I'm just glad I have another one stashed away should the worst happen
@@purcellrcaviationchannel I for one believe that a crash due to a shifting battery is part of the hobby that happens. I almost crashed the 850 pitts because of the same thing. CG shifting in flight is extremely difficult to deal with for any pilot. I was lucky in the fact I was able to land it without damage. Some are not so lucky. I modified the plane so that will never happen again. You post what ever you desire I will always watch.
It’s a great plane, loved mine, found the Spektrum 4S 1800mah 50C G2 to be my preferred battery overall as gobs of power and no flip overs on take off and landing at my grass field with max travel set at the elevator horn. It is possible to high speed stall this Pitts on 4S, I know, that’s how I destroyed mine spectacularly 2 summers ago, lol. Back in stock here finally in the US, think I’ll have to get another..!! That big FMS Pitts is beautiful but just to darn big for me to store, but 850mm hangs on the wall and looks real purdy..!! 😉
Hi Howie! Yes, I've felt mine get to the edge of a high speed stall; it gets very 'tippy' and sensitive at high speed and I wonder if the propeller is too big for the model? But I'm probably talking out of my hat! Good luck with your next 850 Pitts purchase ☺
I don’t think you’re talking out of your hat at all Gina. Maybe it’s the prop, I wouldn’t honestly know, small fast planes high speed stall is all I know. I’ve high speed stalled the Arrows 50mm Viper on 4S many times..!!
Nice aerobatic fligt Gina! And I honestly feel clouds make a better background for filming planes, I think there's less brightness difference between the olane and the sky. Or at least that's my theory 😅
Wow it flies so well Gina ! Its a shame they dont make it anymore. Ive crashed my little umx pitts 4 times. Last time was trying my first barrel roll. But i did not have enough height, so I couldn’t recover in time. Its all taped up and glued. So i think it will still fly. The umx pitts spins sooo fast. My fault. Ps i have the e flite ultimate 3d bi plane. But i need to practice more. But it looks really stable, but can be unleashed to be a 3d beast! It has soo much power on 4S! I was thinking of using the new real flite simulator to practice on. But the few goes i had on the older version, did not give you a real 3d sense of perspective. Did you practice much on simulator? Great flying . The pitts looks rock solid…..
Hi Kian! Thank you! I managed to smash my UMX Pitts to pieces on its third flight... all but one lower half wing was left attached! I flew it too far away and lost orientation. I do have an old version of RealFlight 9.5 which I find useful for times like now when the wind is blowing a gale and set to do so for about the next week. I actually had a 'breakthrough' moment a couple of years back after using RF9.5 over the winter; come the flying season and my flying came on a lot (back in early '21) so I can only say it helped me along as a pilot. Good luck with your Ultimate Biplane!
Thanks Gina, i guess I’m not the only one who ditched the little pitts. Even Brian Philips crashed his umx pitts into a tree. I usually try to fly the little umxs quite close cos they disappear easily. Keep up the good work.. @@purcellrcaviationchannel

Hi Gina - it is one of those Nice looking Biplanes for sure - it looks nice and it was flown nice - her flip at the end was no surprise.

Jaysus Gina, thick and fast ! You spoil us.
Haha! I aim to please, Joel 😇☺☺☺😆
Great flight Gina I have so many flights on mine too good video
Thanks, Frank ☺ I hope to have many flights with mine as well... if I don't stuff it into the ground first, though! 😁
@@purcellrcaviationchannel lets hope it wont go into the ground I been flying biplanes for years I luv them have a great week😊
Lovely video and flight, i had one of these but never got on with it very well, Darren.
Thanks, chap! Much appreciated... I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that gives this model the 'side eye' treatment 😄
Gina great Pitts flying, I do enjoy flying the 850 Pitts. Looking forward to seeing the new runway. Jeff in LA USA
Thanks, Jeff! I'm still a bit wary of mine, but in time I hope to be fully comfortable flying the 850.
