    What is your favorite trick for getting stunning macro shots underwater?

      refocusing the lens on an action camera with a narrower field of view lens (90 degree). Still not a perfect macro but a good close-up can be achieved: ruclips.net/video/rBWDJaA43AE/видео.html

      nice shot, I like it. It's just a shame when the fish come to close to the camera and get out of focus.

      @@MatthiasLebo It has some limitations and the DOF is surprisingly narrow despite the small sensor. The focus is fixed, so it cannot follow the subject, but the camera is below 200 Euro, so it's not that bad

    Thanks for having me! I didn't give my top secret top, but I will now.... The secret is to film a critter that is so cool, that if its bad quality video, no one notices.

      Pleasure collaborating with you mate. We should do it again soon... 😉

    Very informative video. I've been hesitant to use my tripod but see the merits.

    Matthias, do you use different lights for macro and wide angle videos or just dial down the power setting?

    • @MatthiasLebo

      Usually I dial down the power unless I want to take some more special macro shots (black background) in which case I use a snoot light like the Backscatter MW4300.

    can we use gopro with macro lens provided in the market or can we use the regular magnifying glass 🔍 to focus on a subject using gopro

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  4 года назад +1

      I wouldn't use a magnifying glass. That seems awfully complicated and I'm pretty sure the results are not going to be the same. I would use one like this, depending on your GoPro model: amzn.to/3iJ05ER

      If you’re looking for a camera try, Scubalamp is making a fairly good one that costs around US 100.
