    HW, 'The story of kaizen begins in pre-WWII America. It travels on to post-war Japan and ends with spreading global adoption.' The Japanese adopted the principles and built on them post world war 2. One of the most prestigious prizes in Japanese manufacturing is the Edward Deming prize, an American who brought the principles to Japan post WW2. No doubt Japan make absolutely fantastic guitars, I have a super JV series strat (around the period where US production was non existent) that's the equal of my US ones.

      They go for between 1200-2000 on reverb give or take I just bought a 1989 Greco EG59-70 mint collection les Paul it's an exact copy of a 1959 Gibson les paul well a 1958 I think because they used the same photo's and all the stuff Tokai did....

      @@johnsmith-oh2xoI got, an '88 EG59-70 3 months ago. I wouldn't call it an exact copy, but they're certainly as close as you'll get for the price. Playability is excellent. They should have done fret edge binding like they did with their earlier models.

      I found a '75 for $350 in great condition that was advertised as needing electrical repair. All it needed was some Deoxit spray in the switch. The strings were the oldest I've seen. I think it sat in its case most of its life.
      My point is, you can find a good deal if you're diligent.

    I have an Ornetts 54LP (gold top with p90s) and it’s better than any Gibson I’ve ever played. It is light, super resonant, and the truss rod adjustment is at the neck joint, making where the head stock meets the neck sooo much stronger.

      Talking from experience. They’re some of the worst, dishonest and judgmental people I have ever met. Remove the blinkers and take a look around you. I would prefer to deal with the alcoholics and drug abusers, that are what they are, no false pretensions. I will never set my foot in a church again, which, in general, has become another capitalistic business. I will leave it to God to judge me.

    I have another topic for you or some discussion thoughts. I’m currently for the first time in over 10 years of not having a weekly opportunity to play out. I’m somewhat ok with it because I have directed some of my attention to other guitar related avenues. But…. I can’t help but think about the shows name. Guitar Friends. I have played over 30 years and in my area there are players but my knowledge of local guitar players is lacking. It’s like they are secretive. I have invited others over to play, talk, enjoy a good cup of joe, hopefully influence them and them influence me to buy more gear but it’s like this secretive thing. In my area more people than l realize at times knows that l play but they tend to be standoffish in regards to their music interests. It’s a complicated subject. I have close friends that we get together and discuss music and especially vintage vinyl records but they are not players. As far as guitar friends….. it’s slim.

    By my understanding, the Gibson lawsuit against Tokai, does not even permit the importation of their guitar. That said, there are a couple that slip through your boarders. When a Tokai is traded in at Guitar Center, it never makes it to the sales floor. The staff grab it.
    I am the fortunate owner of 7 Tokai’s. My Gibson’s and Fender’s never get played.
    BTW SRV (RIP) used a Strat version of Tokai, not a Les Paul as you stated.

    • @qua7771
      @qua7771 7 месяцев назад

      I thought there was never an actual lawsuit. They simply weren't allowed to retail them in the US. I have imported 3 Greco's, and an Orville by Gibson. No problems. I'll admit, I never seen one in a guitar store, but there are plenty for sale online.

      @@jimmcdougall9973 Wasn't that a cease and desist notice, not an actual law suit. I don't mean to sound argumentative. Just chatting gear.
      I run into a lot of die hard Gibson lovers that make things up, and exaggerate. I'll sometimes joke around with them about the black helicopters flying over peoples homes who own replicas, and having to explain to other prison inmates what you got locked up for.

    Stereo live is mainly for my IEM’s. A mono sound going to both ears is just unnatural. When I run sound I will do some panning for the stereo guitarists but it can’t be just hard-panned. That doesn’t make any sense haha. That puts the dry part of both guitars dead center
    Even when recording, I’ll deliver stereo tracks. The producer or engineers can decide what to do with them, use one or the other or pan both together. Whatever they want but they’ll have options.

    • @dickjonesify

      I got to mix some professionally recorded tracks (just for fun) and you wouldn’t believe how many guitar tracks come with your average heavy / hard rock song. The last one I did had over 25 guitar tracks. Every part you could think of and they were all doubled for being hard panned. I used maybe 1/3 of them 😅
