The clip comes from the movie "Jodhaa Akbar" (2008) staring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan. Jodhaa Bai is a Rajput Princess and Akbar is Emperor of Hindustan (aka India). What makes this love story unique is Jodhaa is Hindu and Akbar is Muslim. Their marriage is based on political alliances between him and the Rajput King. However Jodhaa mentions that she will only marry Akbar if she is allowed to remain a Hindu and she can have a small temple in her quarters. Akbar agrees. In this scene, Jodhaa is praying to Krishna and this is the first time Akbar has seen her face to face.

They definitely picked the right actor/actress to play the part, Hrithik makes a fantastic Akbar and Ash makes a perfect Jodhaa. :D Superb film :D

Actually Hrithik did a far better job I thought. I'm sorry but everyone was able to acknowledge how truly OUTSTANDING he is. This is what being a TRUE actor is all about. Just because someone portrayed the character of Akbar before, it doesn't necessarily mean that one day another brilliant actor cannot surpass him. Yes Prithviraj was a superb Akbar but Hrithik is simply mindblowing and I cannot imagine anyone else at all doing justice to this magnum opus film and role like he did.
Man, Hrithik looks awesome with a moustache! Seriously, he's a cool looking guy. xD

Jai Krishna! This is probably my favorite song out of this awesome movie. Such a sweet melody, and these gripping moments where they look at each other...Her dedication to Krishna is so nice.
Ash is still the best. She;s perfect for such roles. Imagine Kareena trying to do this. LOL!

amazing not only romantic but historical cultural movie . great actors with undeniable talent and amazing performance. i love the message of this movie about religious and cultural tolerance. people should learn something from this movie how to accept and respect the other with his differences cos if we were all the same the world would be so annoying :) the difference is the essence, the wealth and the beauty of our world and life we should celebrate it and encourage it and protect it.

Maan Mohana - while it directly refrences Shri Krishna Bahgvan, literally translates to "he who controls/guides/rules/directs my heart" stemming from the coupling of the words "Maan" which means heart and "Mohana" which references a ruler, controller, guide or king.

@happybuddha33 Don't get me wrong. I'm not calling Islam "evil" or "bad". I'm just saying, in my opinion, the notion of literally changing your belief system/world view for the sake of love is to forsake your own self, period. No matter who you are or what religion you may or may not belong to.

Theres no doubt that Aishwarya is beautiful & acts quiet well , but i just wanna says that she & Hrithik (along with the rest of the cast) r wearing a lot of make-up . U can look at her eyes (mascara , eyeliner, eyeshadow etc) ,look at her blushed cheeks ! look at her glossy lips...................I have knowledge about these facts ,so wanted to clarify others doubts (rather assumptions)about Aishwarya being screened bare (without mmake-up)in this movie.

@happybuddha33 who knows if he personally wanted her to convert? it is clear he had pressure from his kingdom. Also, while we are talking about 'forcing' people to convert, Islam does not support forced conversion, it is clearly said "there is NO compulsion in religion" ..
Anyone on stage or film wears makeup, even if it's "natural-looking" makeup. That's just the normal protocol. It's done everywhere in the world.

Hrithik is truly like the 8th wonder of the world. He is so perfect that it is as though a Greek God is on earth. Being so physically perfect and yet surpassing such talent and such a gift, he is beyond description. And Aishwarya is simply a Goddess, a true beauty who seems to stand the test of time and such a brilliant and superb actress. One of exceptional and extraordinary calibre.

Im a Muslim, and as far as i know, before a muslim maried to non-muslim, she or he must be a muslim first, if not, the marriage is considered not legal in Islam and the couple is not be considered as a husband and wife, sory my english bad : )

@SH7861WeezyBabyy Um...just because the Qu'ran says something, doesn't mean Muslim emperors follow it. Clearly, one of the key tenants as to why the story of Jodha and Akbaar is even popular is the fact that he REQUESTED her marriage and she REQUESTED to retain her religion and he CONSENTED. We know that this happened in Indian history with Muslim rulers, but not often. It's also in the Qu'ran that Muslim men are only to marry Muslim women or women of the book.

@happybuddha33 I dont know if you understand the concept of 'God" for Muslims. Islam being a branch of Christianity and Judaism believes in the SAME God as they do.The statement "there is no God but God" solidified the monotheistic approach in a polytheist society back when the Prophet was just beginning. The history behind this statement is extensive and not as horrid as you are making it out to be, unfortunately, all of it cannot be explained in the comment section.

@happybuddha33 When studying the concept of 'God' in Islam and its deplorable belief of "my God is the only God' (which I'm sure you have misunderstood and possibly even misquoted), it is also important to understand the complex theological doctrine known as "Tawhid". Forgive me for saying this but I do believe that religion and its beliefs cannot be expertly learned in a short period of time, especially if we're going to rely on what happened in the sub continent during the Mughal era.
