MG is kicking goals. i saw one in a shopping center display a few weeks ago . i eavesdropped on what everyone was saying about it. everyone i heard was just saying how cool and nice it looked. i didn't hear one person mention china , i just don't think younger people know or care where its made
Just wait till you drive it though. Do not recommend. For the first 10 minutes you think it’s ok but then you start to realise how far behind they really are. The infotainment system is clunky and annoying, you can’t adjust time climate control without navigating through the menu on screen, the engine is woefully underpowered and can barely get up a steep hill, the suspension does weird things, the seat lacks adjustment and you feel like you’re sitting incredibly high in the car if you’re a tall person and then you have this giant box near the rear view mirror which blocks your view. After one day my daughter was saying that she doesn’t want to go in it anymore.
Ignorance is bliss I guess. This proves that people are generally very selfish. They'll buy a pile of crap like this from China either not knowing its Chinese (ignorance) or they do know but they buy it anyway because its cheap despite it being made in China (selfishness). China is an enemy of Australia and certainly not a friend. These Chinese junk machines should not be allowed into the country to be sold.
I own the 2023 HS auto exclusive and in my opinion it has one of the worst entertainment systems I've used, I was given a DAB dongle which sticks to my window and wired to the glovebox and then to the USB port because MG can't replace the chips needed for DAB, so that's one thing, no wireless android or apple play so another wire needed for that, the satnav is slow and not as good as built in mobile satnav, the sound system isn't as good quality as one would expect from a "top spec" model, the display quality is standard and you can't change the wallpaper or screensaver, the display has already glitched a couple times either freezing or just not coming on with the car but also annoyingly because its a push start it goes off after a few mins so you'll have to press the button to turn it back on if the engine is off and the heating controls are touchscreen too. The only reason I picked the HS was it was advertised as value for money and I guess it is when you compare the price but remember, it's not leather, it's not high quality extras and if you put it side by side with any other top spec equivalent, the MG doesn't hold up well other than being cheaper.. this is just my opinion but I'm keeping mine 12months and trading in.
Hey Paul, could you please do a review on the new Kia Sorento Gt line, I'm hearing very good things about, people saying it's a cut price Gle/ X5 would like your take on it.
Hi fellow owners Having purchased The MG HS Excite 2023 model I am at a loss as how to get the DAB radio setting. On the main infotainment screen it has FM and AM but the DAB is ghosted in dark grey....Am I to believe this Excite model has No DAB Radio? And if so it's a poor show not having a DAB setting on a year old car, surley these should come as a standard setting? Any info greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know where I can find some actual specs about the audio system? Can you play files from a USB drive in lossless formats? The sales guy today had no idea.
I doubt many cars can play the lossless format, unless you put something aftermarket in and I don't think the audio system has anything to write about except it makes sound
Can someone confirm that the three coloured bars - orange, green and blue - on the main screen are there all the time? I am not a fan of that staring me in the face all the time and would prefer a blank screen or a clock whilst driving. If playing media does the screen then show that instead? Cheers :)
My wife has one and I drive it occasionally. I can confirm the colourful main screen is always there unless you've pushed some other buttons but it doesn't stare you in the face. In fact you'll hardly notice it unless you turn to look at it. Bad news is, you'll have to turn to look at it at least several times to adjust climate control because it's buried in a secondary menu and there's no physical knobs for it.
My radio was off the other day while the engine was just turned on, the sales man said to hold the home button in for 5 to 10 seconds and it turned on, never tried the opersite to turn it off
I am amazed that in 2021, car manufacturers are still releasing cars with infotainment systems that does not support android auto and apple carplay wirelessly. Android auto wireless and apple carplay wireless has been around for years, but car manufacturers have been REALLY slow, implementing this feature. For shorter trips, it would be nice to still have navigation and/or music streaming and for longer trips, it would be prefereable to have a wireless charging pad instead of having to fumble around with cables. I suspect that car manufacturers wil only take this feature seriously when some of the large phone manufacturers eventually makes good on their thread of removing the charge/data connector completely from the phone, making them unable to use AA and AC with a cable.
They do it because the wireless connection is unreliable and limited, and i don't blame them one bit having helped develop an in car wireless navigation system.

Ignorance about China and the CCP is unfortunately very common among the sheeple masses.
James4555 they were talking about the car

@1:40 Yeah sure. I'll just rely on my smartphone "if I need a better navigation system" - even though I've just paid £25k for a 2021 model car!
Does it have tracking if it get stolen?
Great video as always. 👍
Keep going on
Thanks! 😃

The Harmon/Infinity system in Hyundai vehicles plays WAV and FLAC files.
It's pretty good
@@TheSuperBoyProject That doesn't answer the questions I asked - but thanks for playing.
Great review Paul!
Thank you!

@@ztz818 Cheers for the reply. I guess you would learn to ignore it after a while.
Anybody know what the format audio needs to be on the USB?
What brand of system is in the MG HS Excite?
what is the APP used in Australia?
Was looking at the mg3 core and was not no Android auto.
Is this correct
Please help me.
The radio turns off when I turn off the engine. I want to continue listening to the radio after I turn off the engine.
Any ideas?
OK Mr Expert....you show us how to turn on and off the radio.
Push the power off button 😒😒

I want this radio model 2019
Where do you plug in your phone?
It’s blue tooth
Theres 2 usb ports in the front, the one on the left allows for carplay and android auto
then how to continue the videos while driving no option in the monitor to disabled and use continuously and watch.
It’s a safety system. You shouldn’t be watching videos while driving
I dont have the navigation panel
Trying to delete stored desternation ?

Hi, my iPhone 13 can’t connect to my mg5
Hola tengo una mg hs y no se como conectar mi Cel a bluetooth
creo que es por cable usb, si tienes android
I rather push my MG Maestro with talking dashboard than watch too many MG HS on plasma screen.
So much lag.
Hughesy and Annalise yeah pretty bad lol
Yep it is a little laggy as you try and transition the menus.
