Now this is very smart, using text from another work and showing how it fits differently.
Despite me being a book and occasionally Shakespeare book reader. I have to say Romeo and Juliet isn't a very romantic play to me. Because its a play of young love. So the proclamations of love never stick to me since these are kids who dont understand love boasting these feelings due to what happened with their families.
Now with using the lines with Aziraphale and Crowley it fits better since A. They arent kids. B. They actually know one another enough for their to be feelings. C. It feels truly genuine when used with them.
Waywarder has written some more incredible Shakespeare-based Good Omens fics, which you can find folllowing the link to AO3. I highly recommend all of their work :) They're an amazingly talented writer.
