The world's largest recorded family, in terms of the number of members, is that of Ziona Chana from the village of Baktawng in the Indian state of Mizoram. As of 2021, Ziona Chana had 39 wives, 94 children, 33 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, totaling 181 family members living together in a four-story house with 100 rooms. Ziona was the leader of a polygamous Christian sect called Chana Pawl, which was founded by his father in 1942. This sect allows men to marry multiple women.
