If you find yourself in this situation with your family, the first step to freedom is believe it. When people show you where they've placed you believe them even if it's your mom. Because at first you will go through the shock of unbelief where you cant bring your self to believe they they are really doing it. But when the actions remain consistent in a direction. Believe it and choose you. In the end we are the ones who teach everyone including family how to treat us!

The ending was perfect. Chidi’s siblings and mum were the cancer in his life. They would have made the home toxic for his child. I love the way Theresa left to take care of herself while Chidi came back to his senses. That space is needed sometimes to let men get back to factory setting and figure out how they want to lead their homes.

My husband acting like he’s not seeing what’s happening. One day I couldn’t take it anymore and I snapped. I told her it’s time for her to leave my home and I mean TODAY. I sent her packing.
The fault lies with the husband. He needed to set boundaries with his family. Better still let them go back to the village and visit only when it planned. The wife has to undergo all his family ill treatment and he does nothing to protect her. Then when she stands up for herself he lashes out at her. He would not see me for dust. Weak man! He can't see his family are only for themselves.Thank God he came to his senses send them out. Lazy people.
I wouldn’t have even made it to a marriage with this weak man. The first disrespectful encounters with that crazy family were enough for me. It would’ve been a hard NO for me.
