I'm with ya. I absolutely can not believe they scheduled a CONFERENCE FINALS game at 3 in the afternoon. And I work a double shift on Sunday. Ugh.

Hate losing games like this but it’s only 1-1. BUT I want to call out Sam Reinhart and Vladimir Tarasenko, these two haven’t played to the standard that we all know that they can be on the offensive end. It does annoy me that it was a wasted of a game especially after Lomberg and the 4th line had a really good game. Like It has to be more than just Barkov playing well on the 1st line. Not worried at all but damn Sam Reinhart and Vladimir Tarasenko score some fucking goals or assists or something

I agree, at least imo this series Tarasenko has been working hard for the pucks, Reinhart just gets erased in every battle he is in. He has a smaller frame but if he is going to be relying on Tarasenko and Barkov to feed him pucks he has to convert on them, the scoring depth right now is not looking the best besides the top 6 and they need goals.
Ya they are burning out right now in the playoffs…

why does everyone think we got Tarasenko for so cheap? We didn't fleece Ottawa - this is who he is.

My only complaint is Reinhart, and its not because he missed the open net tonight, but the whole playoffs. He has been a ghost, I know its not his role to win board battles and such but he cant leave all the heavy lifting to Barkov and Tarasenko while he misses the net from the dots every shot. Ironically, I think he scored the first goal of the playoffs and has been quiet ever since. He doesnt win many board battles, is eh in the faceoffs, cant hit the net for his life, is slow being aggressive in the defensive zone, etc. Maybe he is like Matthews and isnt built for the playoffs and this style of play, at the bare minimum he needs to get his shot fixed or just hit the net, I honestly dont know if I see them beating the Rangers without him getting points.
5 goals (9pts) in 13 games isn't bad. But it definitely should be more when you're playing with Barkov.
Reino will be fine,other teams key in on him now so he dosent have as much space to operate. Look for him to be a big factor in Florida. Go Cats
@@Rudedeck13 I think some of those were empty netters and some blowout goals which isn’t a bad thing but he ain’t scoring 5 on 5 when it matters which is what I care about. I don’t care about him producing on the pp cause I know teams are going to shut him down but he is just straight up missing the net like he was in the beginning of the season from like 15 feet away all playoffs. A lot of the scoring depth needs time step up in a series like this every goal counts.

Ranger fan coming in. This is shaping up to be an insane series. Super even and outstanding goaltending.

Panthers have been pretty unbeatable in overtime. At some point they were going to lose one OT game. Gotta take both at home.
Hurricanes and Panthers play the same game. Playing the Hurricanes gives the advantage to Rangers because the Rangers are very familiar to the Panthers game
Periods 1-3 close game any team could take it. OT you never had the sense the Panthers were going to win. Panthers looked tired and no offense in OT. Time to regroup and go back to our home and get a series lead.
Panthers gave it their best shot to knock the Rangers down but could not get the job done. The missed open netter by Reinhart will prove costly

The goal before this series started was split the games before heading home. 2-0 series lead would've been nice but oh well let's get ready for game 3. Our 11 playoff OT win streak ended which hurts me more
The high stick was a missed stoppage. However, the coaches challenge is only for missed stoppages in the offensive zone, and not reviewable in any other zone.

Jaws, is there any other boardcast you watch the games on now? ESPN is fully pulling for the rangers and for a national broadcast that’s supposed to be unbiased, it’s just embarrassing
Yeah i think it was tough to get both wins in their backyard but it looks like we have control of this series so far. They got an easy goal in OT that we could have easily stopped. See them at HOME!

Yeah man 3pm Sunday has only two purposes, football or nappy time. No clue what to expect today but if there is gonna be a 6-5 no defense game in this series, today is probably it.
THAT was a waste of a good game - some players need to step the F up... UMMM HELLO, REINO? WHERE ARE YOU??? LUNDELL??? TARASENKO??? We need goals. - we need guys on other lines to start producing... that said it's 1-1 ..... and this is what i expected. We split on the road and did our job. Let's take two at home. I have Cats in 6.
The Rangers just like the Panthers, play better on the road that's why I thought this would be a long series.

@@carl-johanfougstedt199 Yes he has , but the goals arent coming - some of the guys need to start producing. However, i wrote that comment in an emotional state right after the game. We split, we did our job its 1-1 heading home. we got home ice advantage back.

Yet another game that went exactly as I thought it would. We are witnessing elite goaltending and this is how the series is going to be - where scoring a third goal, while either is still in the net, is going to be rare. I am enjoying the two very different styles of hockey on display. Stars-Oilers game 1 was a lot of free flow hockey. Anyhow, down to FLA with a matinee game. Hopefully the Rangers can take that one, and put some pressure on FLA.
And the pressure is on the Panthers. What a game today. Lafranierre atones for putting the puck into his own net in game 1 with 2 goals, one a highlights reel goal, yet another shorthanded goal by the Rangers to go up by 2, Panthers coming back from a 2 goal deficit in third, and a redirect by Wennberg to win it in OT for the Rangers, who won their second OT game in a row despite the Panthers pressure. Surprisingly, both Goaltenders surrender more than 3 goals in a game, but in the end, Igor comes through. Panthers have to be starting to feel frustrated, and game 4 is now a must win for them or they go down 3-1 heading back to NY. Still lots of hockey to be played.
Pissed off but shake it off. Take 3 and 4.

its always too easy to look at posts, breakaways and say if only.. If only schneider scored on the first breakaway, etc.. but what it comes down to is which goalie blinks first, game 1 it was Shesty, game 2 Bobbo. From a Rangers standpoint what was interesting is before the series it was all about Florida doin it 5on5 and the Rangers special teams.. tonight 5on5 Rangers win 2-0, special teams florida wins 1-0.. This could switch at some point, but thats the early look. What was big for the Rangers is just getting on the board, and then breaking a long streak of OT wins in the playoffs for Florida. But its shake it off, game 3 is game 3. Dont know if the afternoon start where it no doubt be the hottest part of the day will affect the ice, and for some reason I think that benefits Florida if the Rangers struggle to find their legs.. One very unusual change for the Rangers was when Rempe played, until this game it was maybe for 5 minutes and would definitely be on the bench in a close game after the 2nd period, mostly due to his reputation which would invite penalties.. Yet Laviolette had his line out there in the 3rd and the OT It tells me that PLav wants more physicality out there.. It will be very interesting to see what they will do in Florida because Rempe has been scratched in almost every road game where the home team has last change.
Not exactly true, Rempe has played in 8 of the 12 games this playoffs, and believe or not, has only 8 PIM this tourney. Lavs has him on a leash, and it's not as if he tried to avoid playing him against the Panthers top 2 lines, because he did, and showed confidence in him by putting the line on the ice in the third and OT. Was happy to see Goodrows line have production, Third line production is going to be important going forward.

This series is going mostly like I thought it would and home ice isn't going to mean much. Both these teams play better on the road I know the Rangers do they just roll out their lines and play good D and get good goaltending. Another close game Igor's bad first goal cost the Rangers in game 1. I thought this was going at least 6-7 games and nothing I have seen so far changes that. It should be fun especially how different this series is than the one against the Canes that was such a fast series guys were flying all over the ice.
Reinhart hasn’t done much lately
All that matters is we got a point. Time to move on to the next.

If anything happens from here on it will be a miracle. Can't seem to put it all together. Dominate one game then amateurs the next. Yes.. I watched the same game you all did. You saw how easily the Rangers brought the puck in while we had our pocket picked... I er & over. This dump & chase will be the death of me. 85% of the time we do that the Rangers gain control and what??? Bring the puck into the zone. Bob & our PK saved the game getting away from us. OT was almost comical. As if we didn't come out of the locker room. I am the one who sees things from a unique point of view. Panthers need to burn sage or something. The mistakes should not be made at this point & deep in the playoffs. Panthers... That was your wake-up call. Cut the scrap. FOCUS!!! s Stop being wishy washy. Prove to the world you have what it takes to win seven more games & bring the Stanley Cup to South Florida. STAY OUT THE BOX!!!!
Overall fun game to watch, the back and fourth play is great hockey. Both teams are good caliber teams that belong in the eastern conference final. Cheers!
This team rebounds well after losing, and will definitely see a better more well rounded team game 3 at home. Gotta have home ice in our advantage. Cut the penalties and not give them as many chances NY was fighting for everything to be called. Need a heavier game from the boys in game 3 New York did to us what Boston did in game 5. Tight game making it harder for us to leave our zone etc not giving us prime chances. It’s gunna be a battle and it’s not over but we need to finish on our chances to win

I know both teams offense isn't exactly lighting the lamp, but we've been pretty cold leading back to game 5 against the bruins. Not liking the trajectory were going..

Both ranger goals came off of unreviewable high sticks… unlucky but move on to game 3
yeah no. The replay showed that Goodrow touched the puck below the shoulders. Stop looking for an excuse, because the whole world knows that the Panthers got away with what should have been a 5 minute major. Not saying it was a dirty play or was intentional, but that was a hit directly to the head. If not for it being the playoffs, that call would not have been changed to an interference minor. Good to know that the NHL only cares about concussions during the regular season.
And the Reason the cats are here is from a questionable no call from Bennet pushing onto Swayman? Do you really want to play that game?

Rempe is a non factor... everyone makes a big deal about him.. Lomberg > Rempe all damn day long
Rempe was a factor, and it was tangible. Rangers had more shots, had better breakouts, and produced chances, and he didn't cost the Rangers by being in the box. They out hit the Panthers this game.
Missed open nets happen, and it didn't happen to just the Panthers. Chytl hitting a Panther ass on an open net did happen too. Panthers had chances today, just like the Rangers had chances last game, Rangers hit iron 3 times, and missed open nets twice in game 1. These two teams are evenly matched, excel in 1 goal games, great OT records, and elite goaltenders. Trust me, neither Otter or Skinner are in the same league compared to Igor and Bob. Like I said after last game, it's just 1 game, still lot's of hockey to play. Catch ya'll sunday. LFGR!
Rangers aren’t dirty like Panthers and Hurricanes so it will take a big hit from either team to spark a fight… and I’d love those two players to be on the ice when it happens LGR!!!

It’s to be as expected, still split the series in NY, it’s time for some home cooking. Now…. Ray Ferraro, idk who’s worse him or that robot Leah Hextall…. But what a Rangers fanboy do yourself a favor and either buy a Rangers jersey and sit in the stands…. Or go back to Vancouver to call games with Shorthouse and never appear on a national brodcast game again in the States….
I don't really pay much attention to the ESPN announcers it would be better if they let the local crews do the games but that's never going to happen.
Ray is great on Tsn Overdrive not sure how he is as a caller.
@@jaymie-lee he’s God awful on ESPN, the Rangers MSG crew (Rosen and Micheletti) are way better and are actually a bit more impartial than Ferraro and McDonough.
