This modifier would actually be cool if it was primary/special or kinetic/energy weapons instead of the arbitrary division of artifact weapons it is right now.

Forcing you to use certain weapons after saying they want people “to use and experiment with everything” bungie lying like always
His smg has jolting feedback so he’s constantly applying jolt, and the artifact has a mod that makes jolt blind enemies, so he’s constantly being blinded.
Eso is using the weapons I was using as well yesterday on my run 😮 was literally talking with Chablo about it and recommended him he should try grand overture because it still wrecks, even with modifier. Great run mate always enjoy watching your videos ❤
This SMG being so good vs overload and unstoppable is just great. The Tormentors now are buggy as well, which is 'nice', I guess. Running Liminality with Oscillation now sure is interesting 😅.
Ok I'm still kinda new to solo GMs and Arms Dealer took me an hour to... Fail to Scorpios on the last phase. Anyway, i just wanted to test out some of my builds and suddenly this modifier appeared whcih mde it nearly impossible to pick anything but those specific listed weapons. Not only hve they fully limited intrinsic anti-champion exotics (even Arbalest feels like shit), they've forced you to pick between a shotgun or an SMG, and the latter doesn't even initially stun anything on this GM, so you have to use a few more artifact mods to do that. I honestly didn't even look at them and absolutely forgot we can blind targets, and that basically creates a challenge of always maintaining armor charges, which we have been constantly avoiding due to how little impact on our builds they've had. We just got ourselves more freedom in weapon and supers selection and now boom, 2 weapons and a roaming super or 2 hour long solo run, take your pick dammit. I can see how it can work, but I absolutely hate this type of gameplay and don't even want to touch GMs unti it is gone. Iron Banner week it is.
this modifier sucks mostly because the only way to deal with it is to use an smg or shotty glaives? sidearms? auto rifles? fusions? nope, those are permanently debuffed.
@ it’s not a cool modifier. Limiting your loadout to a few weapons and especially with the worst primary guns in the game and making everything else weaker is not a cool way to play the game.

Pour one out for my Wicked Implement fans, Bungie allows legendary weapons to counter all champions, but won't let exotics with similar mechanics benefit from artifact mods.

I liked the modifier. It created a challenge by forcing you to either use a build that may have been slightly unconventional or just deal with reduced damage. And the reduced damage didnt even hurt that bad. Oh no, I actually have to mix things up a little when I do the gm. Whatever shall I do. Gms have been braindead easy lately due to powercreep so its nice to see bungie trying new things.
@@Lv6_Esperu can increase difficulty without using awkward mechanics for the sake of forcing difficulty. For example the modifier on inverted spire I find to be much more interesting as staying still will result in damage. Forcing people to play with weapons that require you to be extremely close with low survivability is a cope for the GM not being difficult enough to begin with. And before u say anything I’ve completed many runs of this GM already trying to play the way the game wants you to and i still find it to be a poor design

Bc he’s taking advantage of the modifier by using scout for main dmg, then when he gets x3 stacks of weapon decay, he uses the smg to just build up the dmg for the scout so the weapon decay transfers over to the smg
Not only they're forcing us to specific gun type, they're also making us to switch guns frequently. It'll be better to reward matching playstyle instead of punishing others.
they are rewarding the matching play style, that's why esoterickk is using those weapons. if they didn't punish everything else, people would just use everything else and the modifier might as well not exist

As someone who doesn’t do GMs or nightfalls often, can someone explain to me why Oscillation is bad and why people are making it seem like it’s a big deal? I’m genuinely asking. On paper it doesn’t seem all that
oscillation essentially forces you to use an smg or shotgun as otherwise your grenade launchers as well as pretty much every other primary weapon does 3 times less damage. it is awful.

You have to get used to it. And an issue as well is, that smg are pretty much useless anti champion wise for this gm (no overload). But if u use the modifier right u can as well deal some pretty crazy damage. There is a sub 20 min run as well on YT from someone who uses velocity baton and legend of acrius. Fully stacked (3x modifier) and u can one shot champs and threshers with acrius and phase the boss with just 2 shots. Pretty insane.

because it’s centered around the artifact perks. when youre -25 under, an smg or a shotgun can get you killed, FAST. the only way to not have your scout or pulse do garbage damage is by using 5+ breech GL shots or an smg. not to mention the guns that aren’t even named in Oscillation are permanently at a x3 decay. so that’s EVEN MORE weapon types that feel bad to use.

Mate it’s a skill issue. I took legend of acrius. And even then I did runs with perfect paradox.

Hitting shots with grand overture loads up to 20 missiles. Switch firing mode to shoot them in quick succession
