Leave it to you, Toy Palloi to come up with solutions to broken whatnot. If MOTU were still a thing, you could sell this idea to a third party manufacturer! Great idea!
Just a little tip on the Metal, if you're interested. Try painting it black and then carefully drybrush some of the silver paint on the extruded details. That gives it a better worn metal look and it is easy to pull off. Love the stand idea!
Or use that same dark brown to base the metal, too. You would've been able to give the whole thing a nice solid undercoat without a care in the world. The metal would look a little grimier than with a black undercoat. But the general tip remains: always think in layers.
Years ago, I got a second Castle Grayskull playset just so I could custom paint it. Those old MOTU playsets have such detail. That's a great idea for all those broken doors.
Looks amazing, wonder how many other broken play sets or parts of them could be given new life like these for displaying figures in front of , it’s an absolutely brilliant idea.
Love the display, not a MOTU fan but the work and creations you make are awesome! Love to see something like that but for Star Wars or Gi Joe, thanks for sharing your art!
Great job! It looks really good and I get that with that color scheme it can work for nearly any fantasy figure, but strictly from a MOTU standpoint, the colors don’t look very ‘Eternia’. I was kinda hoping you’d go with a blue-green rotting wood door and purple-y paving stones to play up the Eternia vibes. Still, all in all it’s a great idea and a fantastic result!
Now you just need to get a hold of some broken Snake Mountain playset doors. Then you can make Greyskull stands for all of the Masters and Snake Mountain stands for Skeletor and his group
They look good. If you want to try something a bit different, give citadel contrast paints or an equivalent a go. They will give you easy natural highlighting to really take a painting project to the next level. Really easy to do, base coat with either wraithbone spray or grey seer, then one coat of wyldwood contrast would do the wood of the door. Then basiculum grey on the metal, with maybe a metallic highlight. Also recommend some static grass to take the base to the next level.
Great minds think alike! I had a similar idea, but using a 3d printed gate. Now you inspired me (once again) to realize it. The result is awesome as always!!!
My nephews both asked why I keep so many broken bits of their toys... Now, having watched your video with them, they've been going through their own toy boxes looking for parts for me to make something similar to these brilliant stands of yours - One has produced a solar panel from a TIE Fighter and some broken droid parts, and the other some outcroppings of "rock" from his old dinosaur playset! Time to put me "Thinking Head" on - H-wor E-wor C-wor K-wor-zel! ;)
I may try it too. But The bigger stand I will use like milliputty to make. Leg holders for the figure on the stand. I would add those to give it a touch. Hold the figure in place,
I was never into HeMan . But that is an paint job. So many things you can do with broken pieces. Love your channel. Looking forward to your action man helicopter restoration.
I think these would look great with the additional of a bit of a sculpted stone architrave around the door. The overall shape of these doors looks a bit odd to me, the way the sides of the doors have that bit that nips in doesn't look very door-like to me. It looks like it's shaped the way it is to accommodate a mechanism that is no longer present.
Great idea and wonderful outcome. Maybe keep one of the doors to make moulds of to produce more display stands?
Phenomenal!! Great to see that we both use (less than mint condition) classic lunchboxes to hold valuables!!! 👍 TOY ON!!
By the power of plastic weld... I have the power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like these! Brilliant way to use junk parts and such a fun way to display MotU figures.
"I'dont need 3 others" says the man with the Skeletor Army.

My first impressions of the doors were Beastman and Merman
Brilliant idea and flawless execution.

Looks amazing 🤩 Perhaps if you find a spinning base, you can detail both sides and have He-man on one side and Skeletor on the other.
That would be cool
Crazy idea: Leave a door the stock green and paint a figure to match. Sort of an army-man-green display. Man-at-arms would be amazing!
Would definitely like to see more 'custom' videos from you! Great job!!!
Thank you! Will do!
Looks very great, wonderful custom display 😊
Something different! A bit of custom, and I love it!
Thank you!
Seriously, It came out great. Thanks.

"I am going to mess around and see what happens." You just summed upmy entire crafting career. Well done!
Crafting career? That sums up my daily life! Lol
It's all about messing around and playing. As long as you are having fun, that's all that matters.
Excellent work Dave! I like the one with the bigger base the most- the figure standing on the larger floor makes it look part of the whole thing.
Extremely great job and a great use of broken parts to make something that looks amazing and is useful again.
Thank you very much!
Those look awesome! Loved watching this video, please do a few more like this!
Really cool idea and great delivery!
Nice idea to bring them back to life🙂
Wow! Fantastic ingenuity as ever! Loved watching & very inspiring.
Thanks so much!

Brilliant idea. Fun customization to watch you do.
The sculpture on the door looks like Beastman was successfully hunted down.
Cool idea🎉 turned out pretty cool!
Wonderful idea! Looks great and makea for an interesting background display
Thank you! Cheers!
Who knew the door was so detailed
They look amazing
Wow Amazing display stands nice work 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic idea!... Looks great! 👌👍🙂
Thank you so much 😊
Great video and awesome idea! These turned out really nicely.
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the display, not a MOTU fan but the work and creations you make are awesome! Love to see something like that but for Star Wars or Gi Joe, thanks for sharing your art!
Very cool idea!
Hey Dave
I really enjoyed watching you create the display stands and they look great.
Take care🙂
Thanks 👍
Love this mate. What a great idea!!!
That's a great idea mate! way better than the usual green , really Love your Videos. Well done!
Great video, they look great
You have invented the Doorsplay (Door Display) lol
You should try a dark wash to get into all that recessed detail!
WOW!! amazing, it looks great.
Thank you!
They look great Dave! So good in fact , in a way, i think its kind of sad they get mostly hidden when a figure is displayed infront of them!

Use the door's keyhole for a display light.
Pro tip: If you want to secure the front door of your castle put the metal bar that braces it on the inside for added security. 😁
Great job as usual!👍
The result is amazing!
Thanks!
@@toypolloi Are you located in London?
No. The Somerset underground 😎
@@toypolloi I think this is near Glastonbury right?
It's fairly nearby.

Nice and simple! Love it
Love these ❤

Looks great. I'm tempted to give it a try, though actually finding the shelf space to display them on afterwards might be the greatest issue ...
I would he tempted to make a mould if that to have sweet displays for all my figures.
Nice outcome, but I would rise up the platform with a lip of styrene around the edges, to give it more realism, not just those 2mm.
Such a cool idea! And the finished product looks amazing! Well done! I might have to try something like this someday
Excellent
Need a castle grayskull door for mine trying to get one cheap on ebay another great video Dave love it.
this gave me an Idea, I wonder it it would look good to vacuform a castle grayskull to use as a facade backdrop....
Great minds think alike! I had a similar idea, but using a 3d printed gate. Now you inspired me (once again) to realize it. The result is awesome as always!!!
Go for it!
@@toypolloi Thanks! I'll tag you on instagram when I post it
Please do. I would love to see what you make. Cheers

More detail is better... Bones skull would be awsum.
I would pay money for those
would buy
😎✌️

Thanks. The Action Man helicopter will be along next Friday, Patreons get to see it on Sunday. Cheers
i reckon i could 3d sculpt an awesome stand like this and print it out....hmmmmmm fancy beta testing a 3d printed version? LOL
Let me refer you to TP2 🤣😎 ruclips.net/video/0126LgtKDwU/видео.html
Is that just standard water you are using to smooth the Milliput? Or is it some sort of oil?
Yes, just water. You can use it on milliput to smooth and shape it before it sets. I think it says that on the instructions on the box.
@@toypolloi That's good to know. I keep meaning to try using some on some projects, but it's good to know you don't need any specialist stuff.
Did this couple years ago got 3d print base I attached to only got one door
"Skeletor Door" Skele-door?
how many he -man figures do u have....i'm still working on getting more...need help to get them..as i said im a big fun of he-man...
I don't have many. I do have a lot o Skeletors!
