The song is still intact even in 2023. Most of us don't know what happened in Cassinga, but listening to this song, we can draw a visual incident in our minds.
That's the first Reggae hit by Ras Hans Sheehama in the 1990s and I'm happy that I was part of his band in those years during the Namibia independence celebrations. Cassinga song became a hit song and made him the reggae star overnight and paved the way and also established him as the first reggae artist of note in Namibia. I am now glad of his reggae career, he is a grown up and mature Rasta now and I have not seen him since the 90s but I always listen and appreciate his music because I am aware of his and his parents story. I'm glad we both formed the first reggae band in Namibia during those years when I was there as a South African saxophonist. Thanks for sharing this link and video.
