    I think this can not be economic and eroding the surface of impact, so it can be reduced or minimised..it can be better if they issue warning against impact jets and rockets for everyone s safety

      We are assuming no friction on jet flow and plate .so we are taking same velocity in both direction.

      Dkho tangential aur normal dono components honge Jo jet apply krega plate p kyuki friction nhi h to Jo tangential component hoga wo force nhi lga paega bcoz jet smoothly plate k surface se flow hoga without applying any force but normal component force lgaega as wo perpendicular strike krrha h to plate ko aage move krana chahega .but plate fix h to move nhi hogi jisse work done zero hoga.

    Sir, what is datum(Z)? When you used bernoulli equation.

      Datum is nothing but just a surface that is considered above which the sections of the cross-section that you are considering for applying bernoulli's equation is situated. In simple if you take a bottle and hold it in your hand in some inclined position, the mouth of the bottle is at a height of z1 from the datum (ground) and the bottom of the bottle is at a height of z2 from the datum surface.

    m(dot) [V1t-V2t] = 0 (net force in tangential direction is zero)
    so, pQVcos(theta) - (pQ1V- pQ2V) = 0
