Then the OGs who ask for the game to be deleted when anything is remotely different. The thumbsuckers that think placing 4 walls and and two cones means you have liquid diarrhea running down your back, the players in the middle that would like to sweat, but aren't advanced mechanically and are learning, and the Titans of the game that drop 50 bombs in diamond + ranked lobbies. Oh yeah the public perception that this is a kid's game dominated by 9 year olds. It's a lot to juggle.
The problem with casuals commenting "just use the fists or just shoot your gun back" is that pub lobbys are 70% bots, so they forget that players in the clips can aim.

I believe and agree with Reiss that ranked should have tournament loot. Pubs can stay untouched, what is being asked for generally is a competitive game mode that can be used to either sharpen your skills as a player or prep for competitive tournament play. You can't do either sitting in a car all game or running through builds.
If the pros are the only ones complaining, it clearly shows that they are better at adapting than pros. The pros are relying on the same play style for too long.

The tweet that went something like “the comp players cry and all the items are removed and the season is boring” was most interesting to me, because it’s becoming increasingly more obvious that Fortnite is catering to the casual player base in an attempt to lower the skill gap. I think this theory is just becoming more and more truthful after the introduction of all the goku weapons in chapter 3-4, the rocket ram, the exotic weapons (hated those) and now the fists and cars

In reference to the Zero Build spite section: It reminds me a lot of the common gripes of players that are new to Valorant, who tend to express frustration towards the 1shot headshot of weapons like the Vandal because it seems uncounterable at their level of understanding of the game. Thing is, however, the fact that that rifle can “1tap” is actually the tip of the very nuanced iceberg of how the game’s economy, movement, AND gunplay system works. Eventually, once players realize the depth behind what seems like a “BS, OP mechanic”, their perspective changes and it simply becomes another part of playing. This is also visible in Fortnite: Once you learn how to do simple boxfights, tarping, and 50/50’s, the “spam builders” who once decimated you now become yet another opponent to fight (sometimes, dying easier bc of their increased aggression) Thing is, most people don’t want to admit the fault lies with their inexperience rather than the systems in place, so they take out their anger on others. If you feel the need to justify someone else having a bad time when they play… That’s not ok.
However, the one tap mechanic can be adapted to and learned. Builds is STILL growing in skill, and its skill ceiling is nowhere in sight. A new person, by the time they learn 90s, wall retakes, tarping etc, which would take around about 7-8 months, the skill level would have risen up already. There's no way to catch the existing players without sinking unreasonable amounts of time in the game Plus, this is ignoring console players totally

Even as a pubs player who retired from builds because 35+ hour work week, this season has a lot of potential, but cars overpowered as shit. "Just shoot the cars!" Ok, shoot something that has over 1,000 HP and empty a minimum of 3 mags on a vehicle that can then just use 1/4 of the energy on the repair torch or go to a repair station without having to sacrifice an inventory slot. I'm tired of playing "Mad Max: Fury Road" the game, I want to play fortnite

That’s false equivalence. Building is a thousand times more intricate than moving away from cars. There’s also the differences between controller and pc players. Ping matters, the amount of practice matters, hardware limitations matter, and it takes dedicated months of learning and non stop playing just to be as good as your average Elite rank player. I agree with pubs players not understanding comp whatsoever, but this is still false equivalence
The tweets on just adapting make me mad, since most of the clips of ranked and the players are trying to show that they aren't getting practice because of the cars. "Boohooo use the cars" and "pros should adapt and stop spam building" just makes me mad since these comp players are going to play tournaments with no cars and they are actually trying to make money from this. They should actually split the pubs and ranked lootpool.

i play basically every day and i love this meta but epic do need to add more counterable stuff for cars and nerf the fists as then it would keep the fun of car fights and makes sure its not too op also this season is so much more fun than the others as the game was feeling quite boring (chapter 4 season 3) so its a nice change
Also the big issue is teaming too in lower ranks. Before, there was no real situation where two players HAD to work together, it was completely free choice. But now, if you’re in a car shooting a turret and someone else gets in your car, it becomes a prisoners dilemma. For lower skill players, The driver can’t get out because the turret will rip them apart. But the turret person can’t shoot the driver like a passenger used to be able to, and if they get out, the driver can just run them over. So now, the first player to LEAVE the car loses, so both will stay in the car, and that usually ends up with them teaming up. The only redeeming feature is that the car chases are crazy cool, but otherwise it’s a massive pain.
I love the season the cars and everything. To counter this in rank if you get the car and are the driver keep getting out and running back at the car and get it also only works with nitro. This does 75 so 3 times unless they're low will kill them, but that shows how hard it as to play comp. I let players in my car and use this strategy with the megaladon medallion (infinite boost). Also works great when they heal. But that's really hard to do unless the opponent is, well kinda bad or slow.
its not casual vs competitive, its noobs vs people that know how to play and want the game to be balanced, no matter if they are casuals and play pubs or competitive players

I can win ZB solos without a car but that's it. Even in builds I have some trouble because once I destroy the car, the player has a 2x material advantage over me

If you only play zero build pubs, then that's where your experience is. The problem is when players like you try to dictate balancing for something you know very little about. A zero Build public lobby isn't the same game as an FNCS finals, and its a shame they must have same loot pools.
That’s not how they experience it. A good player is used to having good games. A bad player is used to getting his shit pushed in. The bad player suddenly get’s to kill some people because literally anyone can now. They’re both having a shit experience but one man’s shit is another man’s treasure.
Simple fix: BRING BACK ARENA, EMPs and some more stuff, make nitro do 100 builds damage and 50 damage to players with a slight bit of knockback NOT GETTING LAUNCHED 10M so its balanced and make nitro fists not phase into boxes and not do damage through builds

I am a casual build player and I can’t stand people pretending this stuff is ok. Nitro, nitro fists and cow catchers basically make playing builds pointless. I don’t choose to play builds just to have my builds be as strong as paper.
I think it’s a very small percentage of zero build players that are spiteful or people who can build well, however, that percentage are the section who are commenting on social media which gives a bad look on the casuals who as you said can’t be bothered to put in the time and effort to learn how to build, I’ve been playing since chapter 2 season 5 and I have never even tried to learn how to build, however, I don’t want to be hypocritical because I know that it’s my problem that I’m bad at building and it shouldn’t be taken out on anyone else, even though I am really enjoying the fact that every single endgame, it’s complete chaos and it always ends up at moving zones.
i started playing fortnite in the myths and mortals season and i never played it before. But i enjoy building a lot already and i know im not very good but i find its a lot more frustrating when stuff like nitro can just completely counter building when im trying to learn the game.

16:50 - it's not about build vs ZB, it's about comp ranked vs casual pubs, regardless of the mode you play, I'm mainly a ZB player and I'm not a fan of this meta, yes it's fun in pub squads but I don't like it in solo, especially ranked and I know other ranked ZB players who think the same.
As someone who loves this season I can 100% see why people hate it, with that being said we should stop directions hate towards each other and start directing it towards epic. The best solution for this season is to have different a different (more competitive) loot pool in ranked
So my fellow fighting game enjoyers would definitely liken this to people that defend "dishonest" characters in FGs. As a basic explainer, the essential phases to fighting games are: - neutral, where your'e just throwing out safe moves to land an initial hit - "turns", where when you land a hit, you get a chance to combo or keep pushing attacks until your advantage runs out and you have to back off a little From everything I've learned (TONS from this channel btw) fortnite follows a similar formula where when you're in the neutral damage poke phase, once you land a good hit, it's your turn to attack. Build close, wall pressure, take pieces etc are all pretty equivalent to comboing or chaining attacks together that force the opponent to block. Then your advantage runs out when you have to reload or something. Now the dishonestly comes in with some fighting game characters where they don't have any moves that are risky/unsafe. "Risky" is basically meaning if the move misses, they're trapped finishing the animation for the move and are completly exposed. Think of missing a grapple in Fortnite or wiffing a lightsaber hit, you miss and you're just stuck in the open. Bringing this all the way back around, that dishonesty is what the fists/nitro seem to be but on steroids. It's fully dishonest because you don't have to respect cooldowns, reset, long animations, reloading because there's none of that. It's just the nitro users "turn" the entire time and you don't even necessarily need to do the initial neutral poke phase. A fighting game would immediately crumble adding some one that could ignore everything like that. Long yap session but I thought it was interesting enough to compare
also a fellow fighting game enjoyer I wanna add on that I agree but also with a "dishonest" character at some point you have to realize you should stop getting put in this situation in the first place. obviously Fortnite is different but if the dishonest character has basically no opening upon their strong grapple or something the next possible solution is to play a character or in a way where their dishonesty can be shut down. usually people utilizing dishonest characters do so because that's all they can do to win so by keeping them in a situation where they can't utilize it effectively. I also think in comparing fortnite to fighting games you also make the average great competitive fortnite player into an archetype that gets beat out by another archetype heavily. (whatever they decide to add that disrupts boxing in for the season.)

Yes there's definitely ways to counter a dishonest character/play style but don't forget that when it's truly dishonest it's because those gaps that a more standard character has just don't exist. I guess I don't mean to make it "builder style vs (insert new thing)" there's definitely different styles of builders same as there are for FG characters. with the nitro i think they should lower the structure damage to around 150/200 so it only breaks wood or freshly built brick (not max hp brick) i also think they should decrease the time for the duration for the nitro unless you have the coin.
should do same damage as pickaxe, and I think they need to add more visual markers so you know they have it. that way, its just a guaranteed phase for high ping players, whilst being less disruptive then now. duration and other timing specific things can be balanced after its been reworked. I think they should be a delay on how many you can go through too, but with damage lowered it may not be necessary. making it less common would be nice, if it was gold and niche I'd have no problem with it.
I agree. I love this season from the aspect that it is a fun shake-up/new take on a season, but the fists, cars, and nitro need to be nerfed and taken out of arena so that the people who play this game competitively can play without getting griefed. My take on the season so far.
As a 200 ping player... I really gave up on trying to be skillful in this game. But this season and the chaos it brough was a lot of fun. I've never experienced "taking wall" or "phasing through boxes" so all I've ever done was play casually. I moved away from builds as soon as zero builds came out and with the cars, I can see why skilled players have issues with them. They should definitely separate the loot pools and until then, if I was a pro play, I'd grind creative until then.
I hate to tell you buddy, but your not 200 ping because I live in the UK and only with australian servers do I get 200 ping. The highest ping you can get is 60-80 when playing on your closest region unless you live in some alaskan village with shite internet (which I doubt you would want to play fortnite if you do)

I don't understand this idea that "pros don't like it and casual ones like this season." All my friends (all of us casual - 90% of them don't even play the built mode) stopped playing on the second day of this season because of the change Epic made. Look...Epic didn't make changes to the game, she literally created another game and put it on top of Fortnite, forcing everyone to play a battleroyalle using unbalanced vehicles, forcing players to play a diferent game. The absurdly reduce of the playerbase (I've never seen it as low) shows how much garbage the season is. I hate it.
They really need to revert the boost not taking fuel. Like last season you could boost but it took fuel. The fact that everyone can just infinitely run around with no repercussions is just ridiculous

@@kekmandu6118 i hated every second of it, the bosses and the npcs were always annoying, the medallions where broken, the map was so huge yet so empty and boring. even the good things that they added have some bad effects, the walking med kit has turned every pro game to heal off, and the weapon mods (which are a really cool idea have made the already scarce good weapons (since every season has a meta loadout and cant have a balanced weapon pool) to even more scarce
its just a common trend of epic games, ive played the game since ch1 s8 and have even been playing comp since ch2 s2 and i can safely say that epic has a habit of making an awesome season and then completely ruining it the next, like in ch3, s1 was amazing with spider man mythics and great loot pool, s2 felt okay but they fell off with it tbf, s3 trash cus it was just plain boring the entire summer, and then rolls around s4 which was great, and then ch4 had damn near the same pattern except s 2 and 3 was flipped, but its such a common theme amongst epic i have just learnt to go into a new season fully expecting it to be ass, but if its good then my expectations shall be changed.
I think a system for ranked where the higher you rank up the more it becomes like arena is a very good idea. Like in bronze theres no siphon and pubs loot pool but as you move up the ranks theres more siphon per kill and the lootpool is nore similar to tournaments This also could just be a completely awful idea idk
I was actually thinking of that it could be a good idea but I think it would be hard for players to transitions between ranks so it probably wouldn’t work out

I'm a casual solo build player and I absolutely hate this season. I agree with everything Reiss said here. I can't see myself playing much this season. I'm extremely mediocre at building but I still enjoy it. Can't wait until next season
people are forgetting that fortnite is a battle royal shooter game, with its main attraction/difference being its building mechanic this season takes all of that away, i dont get on to play a car mode where i have to drive over people to win, if you find this season "fun" becuase of cars and are trying to get them to stay just go find another game because fortnite is not for you.
Hitting the nail on the head with this one, Reiss. Do the people who genuinely love this season actually enjoy Fortnite? This season feels so far disconnected from what Fortnite is and has been historically. Especially with the cars being in focus and building being heavily nerfed. Back in 2017 Fortnite's main selling point was literally build. Feels like casuals just love change regardless of quality. While more competitive players enjoy the core gameplay of Fortnite and that's why we stick around. We could have stayed in S3 and I woild still be playing because I like core Fortnite as a game. I get the impression that most ZB don't actually enjoy Fortnite and play it mainly for collabs or to mess around with friends and Fortnite works because it is free and accesible on a lot of platforms.
Also, ZB players are just scared of putting in tbe work. I could not build at all during Season OG. But I wanted to learn, so I went from scrolling between builds, to using default binds and now optimal binds. I don't play much and when I do it is mostly ZB because that,xs what my friends play. But just from putting a bit of effort into my building, I can play on a much higher level than before and I placed top 93 in a Gold Ranked cup last season, from not even being able to build just two seasons prior to that. They just don't even give build-mode a chance. They don't even attempt it. They see someone build somewhat competently and they just give up right away.

I am comp (tournaments) and casual (playing with friends) and I just think epic needs to do these 5 things: Nerf grenade launcher reload speed, Nerf machine gun damage, Add EMPs back and make them disable turrets, Add anvil rocket launchers that do ,ore damage to cars, And nerf the fists smash and uppercut damage. I think that that would just make the season so fun and balanced.

Zero build players love to act like it takes more skill to play a non-building game mode, as someone who is fairly good at building but also plays no builds with my Irl's i can confirm its not. Any self sufficient build player will stomp a no builds lobby. Example: ME. This season my win rate is 43% with a K/D of 18.25 in zero builds, I could never in my life achieve that in builds. It takes significantly less skill to play no builds, i wish these players could stop trying amuse themselves with builds players suffering and try to learn how to play the game. Building isn't hard, learning to do a 180 and place a wall should never be considered hard if you've been playing the game for more than 3 months.
i dont like to see builds players suffer from a broken item and ive just moved to zb recently and it requires different skills to build and i agree builds is harder but if you are good at building but nothing else you will get destroyed in a zb lobby

If you only possess one set of skills when you’re put into a different environment you’ll struggle, the thing is everyone in Fortnite can aim, some better than others but everyone can aim. There’s genuinely some people who can’t build, I personally think it’s due to a lack of trying to improve but these same players for some reason are bitter and almost resentful that someone can out play them with the game mechanics that made Fortnite Fortnite. I think this stems from back in chapter 1, when most players were getting the hang of building a wall or two, the more advanced players would be able to build a full box or two and in turn were made fun of for building “hotels”.

Did you know you can shoot launchers and turrets to break them? They have their own health bars, it's a lot more efficient than just shooting the car body, same goes for every attachment other than bulletproof tires. If there's one thing comp players are known for is good aim, so put it to work!

as a casual but also fairly high skill player, i like this season alot, but i also see its problems. i think pubs zero build is perfect for group play right now but ranked solos feels like absolute crap. definitely not a season ill be playing alot of builds in (especially cuz most my friends dont prefer builds already). that being said i think something definitely needs to be done that satisfies both sides. the way i see it, the most problematic thing for competitive players is the cars, and the most problematic thing in general is the nitro crash. lets get the second one out of the way first, nitro crash should be nerfed from 300 structure damage to something more like 150 or 140. make it break wood but not full built brick, also maybe add some sort of thing where if you smash 2 walls in one sprint you kinda knock back against the wall and stop maybe? as for cars, simply remove them from ranked and tournaments.
One day someone had the bright idea that esports or content creation or both ruined gaming and I disagree. I feel like developers don't seem to get that skilled players want more vanilla skill expression in ranked/comp and the casual players want the broken new fun item in the casual game mode and to keep it like that. Epic seems to do this thing where they release something broken then remove it and ALL they need to do is not put it into ranked/comp and leave it in pubs.
I feel like this is the railgun situation all over again. You can stop Nitro by placing stairs behind your wall, once the pros realize that, nobody is going to be complaining about it anymore and Nitro box rushing wont be viable anymore.
I think a good counter for the nitro would be a countdown after breaking a build before you can do anything so the other person can shoot and make the nitro with less structure damage
as a zero build pro and an alright builds player i think this season is great for zero builds and terrible for builds. building just isn’t even enjoyable anymore, but for me zero builds especially end games feel amazing (also for people who are gonna ask if i even like fn, i love fn no matter the season, that was just my take on this season)
The problem with Epic Games making the ranked loot pool like tournaments is that they’re gonna end up making it ENTIRELY like tournaments eg. making ranked only available in NA-CENTRAL for NA players like they did for the last few weeks of arena. If they do that to ranked I’m quitting Fortnite.
As a zero build player, I only get spiteful when people say zero build takes no skill, like sure you don't have to learn how to build, but you have to be way better at positioning, using cover, and knowing the map. It's not a no skill gamemode just because it doesn't have building in it.
Then play a build lobby and place 90th, while a build player in zero build can still compete. Zero build was made for you, and keep your opinions to that.

The problem with comps saying "the game is boring" when told to "use a car" is they think their fun is top priority for Epic Games. The reality is, it is a company with investors and they have a great marketing strategy. They put in some OP item, player base complains, they nerf it or add a counter, they're the heroes, then it is vaulted. You can't do either sitting in a car all game or running through builds.

In reference to the Zero Build spite section:
It reminds me a lot of the common gripes of players that are new to Valorant, who tend to express frustration towards the 1shot headshot of weapons like the Vandal because it seems uncounterable at their level of understanding of the game.
Thing is, however, the fact that that rifle can “1tap” is actually the tip of the very nuanced iceberg of how the game’s economy, movement, AND gunplay system works.
Eventually, once players realize the depth behind what seems like a “BS, OP mechanic”, their perspective changes and it simply becomes another part of playing.
This is also visible in Fortnite: Once you learn how to do simple boxfights, tarping, and 50/50’s, the “spam builders” who once decimated you now become yet another opponent to fight (sometimes, dying easier bc of their increased aggression)
Thing is, most people don’t want to admit the fault lies with their inexperience rather than the systems in place, so they take out their anger on others.
If you feel the need to justify someone else having a bad time when they play…

Even as a pubs player who retired from builds because 35+ hour work week, this season has a lot of potential, but cars overpowered as shit. "Just shoot the cars!" Ok, shoot something that has over 1,000 HP and empty a minimum of 3 mags on a vehicle that can then just use 1/4 of the energy on the repair torch or go to a repair station without having to sacrifice an inventory slot. Building is a thousand times more intricate than moving away from cars. There’s also the differences between controller and pc players. Ping matters, the amount of practice matters, hardware limitations matter, and it takes dedicated months of learning and non stop playing just to be as good as your average Elite rank player.

The tweets on just adapting make me mad, since most of the clips of ranked and the players are trying to show that they aren't getting practice because of the cars. They should actually split the pubs and ranked lootpool.

The players that enjoy this meta only play once a year when the most broken stuff is in the game, the concurrent player numbers tell the real story.
i play basically every day and i love this meta but epic do need to add more counterable stuff for cars and nerf the fists as then it would keep the fun of car fights and makes sure its not too op also this season is so much more fun than the others as the game was feeling quite boring (chapter 4 season 3) so its a nice change

Also the big issue is teaming too in lower ranks. Before, there was no real situation where two players HAD to work together, it was completely free choice.
But now, if you’re in a car shooting a turret and someone else gets in your car, it becomes a prisoners dilemma.
For lower skill players, The driver can’t get out because the turret will rip them apart.
But the turret person can’t shoot the driver like a passenger used to be able to, and if they get out, the driver can just run them over.
So now, the first player to LEAVE the car loses, so both will stay in the car, and that usually ends up with them teaming up.
The only redeeming feature is that the car chases are crazy cool, but otherwise it’s a massive pain.
Chapter 3 s2 all over again
I love the season the cars and everything. To counter this in rank if you get the car and are the driver keep getting out and running back at the car and get it also only works with nitro. This does 75 so 3 times unless they're low will kill them, but that shows how hard it as to play comp. I let players in my car and use this strategy with the megaladon medallion (infinite boost). Also works great when they heal. But that's really hard to do unless the opponent is, well kinda bad or slow.
I love this and I hate it.

Simple fix: BRING BACK ARENA, EMPs and some more stuff, make nitro do 100 builds damage and 50 damage to players with a slight bit of knockback NOT GETTING LAUNCHED 10M so its balanced and make nitro fists not phase into boxes and not do damage through builds
so make everything new completely and utterly useless so the meta is back to buildfighting?

I am a casual build player and I can’t stand people pretending this stuff is ok. Nitro, nitro fists and cow catchers basically make playing builds pointless. I don’t choose to play builds just to have my builds be as strong as paper.
I think it’s a very small percentage of zero build players that are spiteful or people who can build well, however, that percentage are the section who are commenting on social media which gives a bad look on the casuals who as you said can’t be bothered to put in the time and effort to learn how to build, I’ve been playing since chapter 2 season 5 and I have never even tried to learn how to build, however, I don’t want to be hypocritical because I know that it’s my problem that I’m bad at building and it shouldn’t be taken out on anyone else, even though I am really enjoying the fact that every single endgame, it’s complete chaos and it always ends up at moving zones.

So my fellow fighting game enjoyers would definitely liken this to people that defend "dishonest" characters in FGs. As a basic explainer, the essential phases to fighting games are:
- neutral, where your'e just throwing out safe moves to land an initial hit
- "turns", where when you land a hit, you get a chance to combo or keep pushing attacks until your advantage runs out and you have to back off a little
From everything I've learned (TONS from this channel btw) fortnite follows a similar formula where when you're in the neutral damage poke phase, once you land a good hit, it's your turn to attack. Build close, wall pressure, take pieces etc are all pretty equivalent to comboing or chaining attacks together that force the opponent to block. Then your advantage runs out when you have to reload or something.
Now the dishonestly comes in with some fighting game characters where they don't have any moves that are risky/unsafe. "Risky" is basically meaning if the move misses, they're trapped finishing the animation for the move and are completly exposed. Think of missing a grapple in Fortnite or wiffing a lightsaber hit, you miss and you're just stuck in the open.
Bringing this all the way back around, that dishonesty is what the fists/nitro seem to be but on steroids. It's fully dishonest because you don't have to respect cooldowns, reset, long animations, reloading because there's none of that. It's just the nitro users "turn" the entire time and you don't even necessarily need to do the initial neutral poke phase. A fighting game would immediately crumble adding some one that could ignore everything like that.

also a fellow fighting game enjoyer I wanna add on that I agree but also with a "dishonest" character at some point you have to realize you should stop getting put in this situation in the first place. obviously Fortnite is different but if the dishonest character has basically no opening upon their strong grapple or something the next possible solution is to play a character or in a way where their dishonesty can be shut down. usually people utilizing dishonest characters do so because that's all they can do to win so by keeping them in a situation where they can't utilize it effectively.
I also think in comparing fortnite to fighting games you also make the average great competitive fortnite player into an archetype that gets beat out by another archetype heavily. (whatever they decide to add that disrupts boxing in for the season.)

Yes there's definitely ways to counter a dishonest character/play style but don't forget that when it's truly dishonest it's because those gaps that a more standard character has just don't exist. It's the fact that very nearly every option simply has to be blocked or ran away from, similar to bullrushing builds with the nitro fists.
For the second point that makes sense. I guess I don't mean to make it "builder style vs (insert new thing)" there's definitely different styles of builders same as there are for FG characters. So like people that edit differently, smg rushers, pump vs drum shotty etc. And then other items add more, like now we have vehicle players lol

They do it so to cater to children, they want more new players on to the game.
with the nitro i think they should lower the structure damage to around 150/200 so it only breaks wood or freshly built brick (not max hp brick) i also think they should decrease the time for the duration for the nitro unless you have the coin.
should do same damage as pickaxe, and I think they need to add more visual markers so you know they have it. that way, its just a guaranteed phase for high ping players, whilst being less disruptive then now. duration and other timing specific things can be balanced after its been reworked. I think they should be a delay on how many you can go through too, but with damage lowered it may not be necessary. making it less common would be nice, if it was gold and niche I'd have no problem with it.
I think the thing that you're forgetting is 99% of people not just Fortnite players, but people in general know literally nothing about anything.

I agree. I love this season from the aspect that it is a fun shake-up/new take on a season, but the fists, cars, and nitro need to be nerfed and taken out of arena so that the people who play this game competitively can play without getting griefed. My take on the season so far.
As a 200 ping player... I really gave up on trying to be skillful in this game. But this season and the chaos it brough was a lot of fun. I've never experienced "taking wall" or "phasing through boxes" so all I've ever done was play casually. I moved away from builds as soon as zero builds came out and with the cars, I can see why skilled players have issues with them.
They should definitely separate the loot pools and until then, if I was a pro play, I'd grind creative until then.
I hate to tell you buddy, but your not 200 ping because I live in the UK and only with australian servers do I get 200 ping.
The highest ping you can get is 60-80 when playing on your closest region unless you live in some alaskan village with shite internet (which I doubt you would want to play fortnite if you do)

All my friends (all of us casual - 90% of them don't even play the built mode) stopped playing on the second day of this season because of the change Epic made.
Look...Epic didn't make changes to the game, she literally created another game and put it on top of Fortnite, forcing everyone to play a battleroyalle using unbalanced vehicles, forcing players to play a diferent game.
The absurdly reduce of the playerbase (I've never seen it as low) shows how much garbage the season is.

@@kekmandu6118 i hated every second of it, the bosses and the npcs were always annoying, the medallions where broken, the map was so huge yet so empty and boring. even the good things that they added have some bad effects, the walking med kit has turned every pro game to heal off, and the weapon mods (which are a really cool idea have made the already scarce good weapons (since every season has a meta loadout and cant have a balanced weapon pool) to even more scarce
its just a common trend of epic games, ive played the game since ch1 s8 and have even been playing comp since ch2 s2 and i can safely say that epic has a habit of making an awesome season and then completely ruining it the next, like in ch3, s1 was amazing with spider man mythics and great loot pool, s2 felt okay but they fell off with it tbf, s3 trash cus it was just plain boring the entire summer, and then rolls around s4 which was great, and then ch4 had damn near the same pattern except s 2 and 3 was flipped, but its such a common theme amongst epic i have just learnt to go into a new season fully expecting it to be ass, but if its good then my expectations shall be changed.

I think a system for ranked where the higher you rank up the more it becomes like arena is a very good idea. Like in bronze theres no siphon and pubs loot pool but as you move up the ranks theres more siphon per kill and the lootpool is nore similar to tournaments

I'm a casual solo build player and I absolutely hate this season. I agree with everything Reiss said here. I can't see myself playing much this season. I'm extremely mediocre at building but I still enjoy it. Can't wait until next season
people are forgetting that fortnite is a battle royal shooter game, with its main attraction/difference being its building mechanic this season takes all of that away, i dont get on to play a car mode where i have to drive over people to win, if you find this season "fun" becuase of cars and are trying to get them to stay just go find another game because fortnite is not for you.

This season feels so far disconnected from what Fortnite is and has been historically. Especially with the cars being in focus and building being heavily nerfed. Back in 2017 Fortnite's main selling point was literally build.
Feels like casuals just love change regardless of quality. While more competitive players enjoy the core gameplay of Fortnite and that's why we stick around. We could have stayed in S3 and I woild still be playing because I like core Fortnite as a game.
I get the impression that most ZB don't actually enjoy Fortnite and play it mainly for collabs or to mess around with friends and Fortnite works because it is free and accesible on a lot of platforms.
Also, ZB players are just scared of putting in tbe work. I could not build at all during Season OG. But I wanted to learn, so I went from scrolling between builds, to using default binds and now optimal binds. I don't play much and when I do it is mostly ZB because that,xs what my friends play. But just from putting a bit of effort into my building, I can play on a much higher level than before and I placed top 93 in a Gold Ranked cup last season, from not even being able to build just two seasons prior to that.
They just don't even give build-mode a chance. They don't even attempt it. They see someone build somewhat competently and they just give up right away.
Epic please Remove Cars in Ranked then the problem would be solved 😢

I absolutely love the season, including all the car chases! I am comp (tournaments) and casual (playing with friends) and I just think epic needs to do these 5 things:
Nerf grenade launcher reload speed,
Nerf machine gun damage,
Add EMPs back and make them disable turrets,
Add anvil rocket launchers that do ,ore damage to cars,
And nerf the fists smash and uppercut damage.
I think that that would just make the season so fun and balanced.
And make nitro stun the user when they run into or through a wall for about half a second 😂

No they haven’t, that’s literally why zero build was added and why no build player says anything about it.
Zero build players love to act like it takes more skill to play a non-building game mode, as someone who is fairly good at building but also plays no builds with my Irl's i can confirm its not. Any self sufficient build player will stomp a no builds lobby. Example: ME. This season my win rate is 43% with a K/D of 18.25 in zero builds, I could never in my life achieve that in builds.
It takes significantly less skill to play no builds, i wish these players could stop trying amuse themselves with builds players suffering and try to learn how to play the game. Building isn't hard, learning to do a 180 and place a wall should never be considered hard if you've been playing the game for more than 3 months.
i dont like to see builds players suffer from a broken item and ive just moved to zb recently and it requires different skills to build and i agree builds is harder but if you are good at building but nothing else you will get destroyed in a zb lobby

If you only possess one set of skills when you’re put into a different environment you’ll struggle, the thing is everyone in Fortnite can aim, some better than others but everyone can aim. There’s genuinely some people who can’t build, I personally think it’s due to a lack of trying to improve but these same players for some reason are bitter and almost resentful that someone can out play them with the game mechanics that made Fortnite Fortnite.
I think this stems from back in chapter 1, when most players were getting the hang of building a wall or two, the more advanced players would be able to build a full box or two and in turn were made fun of for building “hotels”.

Did you know you can shoot launchers and turrets to break them? They have their own health bars, it's a lot more efficient than just shooting the car body, same goes for every attachment other than bulletproof tires. If there's one thing comp players are known for is good aim, so put it to work!

as a casual but also fairly high skill player, i like this season alot, but i also see its problems. i think pubs zero build is perfect for group play right now but ranked solos feels like absolute crap. definitely not a season ill be playing alot of builds in (especially cuz most my friends dont prefer builds already). that being said i think something definitely needs to be done that satisfies both sides. the way i see it, the most problematic thing for competitive players is the cars, and the most problematic thing in general is the nitro crash. lets get the second one out of the way first, nitro crash should be nerfed from 300 structure damage to something more like 150 or 140. make it break wood but not full built brick, also maybe add some sort of thing where if you smash 2 walls in one sprint you kinda knock back against the wall and stop maybe? as for cars, simply remove them from ranked and tournaments.

One day someone had the bright idea that esports or content creation or both ruined gaming and I disagree. I feel like developers don't seem to get that skilled players want more vanilla skill expression in ranked/comp and the casual players want the broken new fun item in the casual game mode and to keep it like that. Epic seems to do this thing where they release something broken then remove it and ALL they need to do is not put it into ranked/comp and leave it in pubs.
When it comes down to it, I personally got rid of any friends that didn't agree building is a harder game mode. #facts

I feel like this is the railgun situation all over again. You can stop Nitro by placing stairs behind your wall, once the pros realize that, nobody is going to be complaining about it anymore and Nitro box rushing wont be viable anymore.

as a zero build pro and an alright builds player i think this season is great for zero builds and terrible for builds. building just isn’t even enjoyable anymore, but for me zero builds especially end games feel amazing (also for people who are gonna ask if i even like fn, i love fn no matter the season, that was just my take on this season)

I'm not going to lie, I think we had to all adapt to the beginning of the chapter, mods just made things weird.
The problem with Epic Games making the ranked loot pool like tournaments is that they’re gonna end up making it ENTIRELY like tournaments eg. making ranked only available in NA-CENTRAL for NA players like they did for the last few weeks of arena. If they do that to ranked I’m quitting Fortnite.
As a zero build player, I only get spiteful when people say zero build takes no skill, like sure you don't have to learn how to build, but you have to be way better at positioning, using cover, and knowing the map. It's not a no skill gamemode just because it doesn't have building in it.
Then play a build lobby and place 90th, while a build player in zero build can still compete. Zero build was made for you, and keep your opinions to that.

The problem with comps saying "the game is boring" when told to "use a car" is they think their fun is top priority for Epic Games. The reality is, it is a company with investors and they have a great marketing strategy. They put in some OP item, player base complains, they nerf it or add a counter, they're the heroes, then it is vaulted. But hey, if your crusade against casuals and comments is winning wars, keep going, but if you decide to come to reality, your fight is with Epic Games.
