I love my 2024 GLI. First Manuel car and super easy to learn on.

I just purchased a 2024 Jetta Gli manual at MSRP, and they are only building 1984 of these. Much better vehicle than Honda SI in my opinion, faster, nicer interior, and more affordable. 6 gears!

I have had my 23 (6mt) a little over a month. Admittedly it is my 3rd car mostly for carting the kids around town, work (sales) and the casual date night. This car checked every box for what I wanted. A fun sports compact I could hammer the gears and have some fun, but also take a client out. There r little nuances that drive me nuts but none more than the electronic parking brake, it’s a manual give me a lever! Outside of that I love everything about it. I even found out who all the car guys around town are because I get a lot of double takes driving around.

Got a black jetta gli, bought custom blackout vinyl for the chrome, and red bar / vents at front of grill. And new emblems. Looks so much nice now especially with full tint

Those red fangs or whatever they are, are an interesting design decision.

They are useless . They grab the wind on windy days and rainy hell with stability. My old 76 Rabbit didn't budge in the wind. They could have opened them for brake cooling or fog lights. A mistake also is dash and rear panel reflects light.

I agree with your assessment of the car based on my own (admittedly limited) experience with the GLI. It seems like a good value compared to its competition. I checked into the GLI as a possible replacement for my 2005 Mercedes C230 when the Mercedes started to have an electronics problem. I focused on a GLI with a manual transmission because that is the transmission I have in my Mercedes. The challenge in my area (Virginia) is that availability is limited, and dealerships are capitalizing on the situation. The one GLI I was actually able to see on a lot had a $4000 market adjustment and other mandatory "options" including $800 for paint protection. The total cost was over $40,000. Another dealer did say it could find a GLI with a manual by swapping with another dealer. They offered the car for $37,500 "out the door."
Unfortunately, I would not be able to order a car in the color I wanted but would have a "take or leave it decision." Ultimately, I decided to hold on to my Mercedes for a few more years. The reasons I stayed with the Mercedes were (1) The electronic problem in the C230 turned out to be a simple, inexpensive repair which is an almost unprecedented situation in the Mercedes ownership experience; (2) The price gouging by the VW dealers was a turn off; and (3) There were too many places where VW cut corners in the interior which made the GLI feel like a big step down from the C230. For example, there are a lot of hard plastic trim parts and there are no HVAC vents in the rear seat. I had added front seats from a C63 AMG to my C230 and that made the competition tough for VW.
When the Mercedes finally becomes uneconomical to repair, I hope I can find a nice used GLI on the used car market. The engine is stronger and more economical than the one in my C230 and I expect the updated electronics would enhance the driving experience.

Great car. 3rd Jetta 87gl , 09TDI wagon. All manuels. All big miles, minor issues. Only complaint now is, everybody wirt Honda's, Mustangs even Cudas pull up and flag me for a duel. I'm 71, I still like to go fast, but not in traffic . Back road blasting is my thing

@@allanduarte6728 hopefully it resolves after break-in then. No issues with mine but I got it used with 26000 miles so I didn't have the pleasure of breaking it in.

Yes, the MK7 GLI (and the 7.5) are remarkably great values-and a blast to drive. And yeah, they are exceedingly tunable. My 2019 model with a manual transmission now rocks over 320 hp and 350 ft lbs of of torque(with an upgraded clutch)-and it is a daily driver! A commuter and family car.

Love my 2022 GLI! The rattling of the dash with the speaker on the firewall is annoying but overall great driving car. Definitely enjoy on backroads and just cruising down the highway. Yes, the sport mode is fun, the comfort mode feels amazing just highway cruising. The red “air intakes” are not real, Vw could have done better.

I have a 23 Elantra N. Love it but I got the DCT and really want a manual again. Would I be disappointed going with a GLI after driving and owning the EN?

I dont think youd be disappointed, but you will definitely notice having bit less power and few things. Got a different feel to it. Apart from the extra power which is always nice just prefer the gli myself.
Better on fuel too but cant you also get a N line im manual transmission?

When it came time to get a replacement stick shift sedan after putting @ 300k trouble free miles my old Mazda, I was on the fence between the Integra A-Spec and the GLI. While Honda lately has had its own problems, they tend to have a much easier wrenching experience than most VW/Audi offerings. Then I saw this about the EA888, and surmised the Integra may give me fewer downtime days in the shop. Time will tell. ruclips.net/video/zvqG4y6iTTU/видео.htmlsi=59hvuiGym_FVKOh0
