Hi, brother Methew Truly love to watch your detailed and sincere reactions on Bollywood songs.... Your keen observation and understanding is very impressive.... I do appreciate you whole heartedly 😘😘
Indian cinema has been influenced by Western cinema since its inception. The traditional ethnic culture went along with glimpse of westernism in costume, music and dance. Few Hindi songs were even inspired from greatest Hollywood numbers
Please search about another Indian greeting- *Aadaab* You'll like the idea and history behind it. It's relatively new as it was coined in 18th century. But yet, it is still used in the Urdu literary circles.
I think I'm kinda familiar with this song, like.. been hearing this song somewhere, maybe sung with another language, but the melody is kinda similar. And about the poster, it reminds me one of the divination card that talks about a man and a woman who're in a twin flame connection, but one of them is still tightly knotted with other person. Soo, are you gonna react on Dil Laga Liya from Dil Hai Tum Hara soon, Matt? 😀
You'll find a lot of Bollywood songs from 50s and 60s which were based on the tunes of 1920s and 30s Western music. A lot of them are also based on Western Classical symphonies. Mozart has been used in a lot of old songs. Basically Bollywood copies music from what used to be prevalent two or three decades back in America. For example, 60s Rock n' Roll has been copied a lot during 80s and 90s in India. Apart from the music, it also impacted the cinema. This went on for until in the early 2000s when government allowed 100% FDI in the entertainment industry and the pace of incoming of western entertainment products increased and availability with the common people increased. And then after the internet boom and OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon everything is now available and people are no more interested in remakes and copies. Freshest example is of Laal Singh Chaddha (the remake of Forrest Gump). One of the several reasons it's going flop is that people are more interested in original stuff now.
Hello Matthew, here's a list of films (short list as I'm rather hard to please) that I feel anyone interested in Bollywood should watch, it's not based on box office success but more on the story telling and the relevance of the scenario. Zakhm, Dor, Stumped. If you have the free time research the so called 'art films' of the 80's. I was too young to watch these at the time, and to be honest I was more interested in Hollywood films at the time. It's my intention to watch these films as they are likely to be covering interesting and thought provoking themes.
*Bro you don't even no hindi and no translations.. means you don't understand the lyrics .. then why you react Bollywood songs ? For views and money ?*
@@whiskyopp You seem to be small minded person. Music is to be felt. everything is not be understand. If the song is good, ppl will like it whether they understand or not. I also listen chinese pop songs even though i don't understand its lyrics but i don't care. As long as the voice and melody is good i don't care what they saying.

This song will never be forgotten.
It's set in Goa. Swaying coconut trees, canals, boating in the moonlight. And those doctors and nurses would be influenced by the West.
