it's crazy I've been into Myers Briggs for 5+ years now and I still love seeing fellow ISTPs on RUclips talk about what it's like to be an ISTP lol. Spot on 100%. Great video.
I until recently didnt understand my personality. then i figured out i was an ISTP. After doing more research on the web and listening to videos like these it further confirms for me that i have this personality type.
"Emotions just fuck things up." "Being bad ass is totally not a misconception." "I you're like *I feel* that's not going to sway. Stick to facts please." "If the rules are stupid... they can go fuck themselves." "We're known for having a resting bitch face." "Emotions don't control us or effect us in any way." "We like to be in the moment." You literally are me right now
ENFP's are an antidote to the ISTP's. My best friend is a ISTP and I have peeled him like an onion. All those soft and gooey emotions come right out. It pisses him off that I can make him confess all his problems and emotions so easy. Often when he is having a bad day. I will indirectly address it by sharing my stresses. By the end of the conversation he is buried in my chest. Sobbing like a baby having told me everything. He hates it at first. But by the end he admits that he feels better and he is glad he has a freind like me that takes the time to peel him open and listen.
Used to have issues with depression, usually when it gets cold, but I'm figuring out how to use my Se energy in other ways to prevent myself from getting stuck in my introverted thinking and intuition. Engaging your extroverted functions helps connect you more with the outside world. ISTPs have very nonverbal functions aside from the inferior Fe which i think is what causes most of the issues, an imbalance between Ti (using independent facts and logic) and Fe (desire for peace and connecting with others)
Ah- The Joys of the "Ti face".... Just be glad you don't have Ne as well. But yeah. ISTPs are one of those awesome phenomena where you kinda wonder how they can exist XD Funny detail is that I have a friend who's an ISTP and, he, too, has a thing with soda (if to a much lesser extent), he's a strict Pepsi person. He's also possibly the only person I know IRL who has an even greater requirement for space/alone time & is even less orderly than me XD In my experience one important thing to mention is that ISTPs can be a lot more chill & accomodating/understanding than you'd expect. Like, you might think that because they're so very dilligent about their interests, they'd be picky, but they really aren't, as least as far as the ones I've encountered go.
ISTP's and INTP's have the least control over their emotions, because their Fi is low, and they have Fe inferior. It depends on how you define "control" I guess...
Used to believe I was INTP but in fact definitely lean toward the ISTP type. This guy is spot-on. My b.s. meter is quite accurate plus really hate illogical rules and mostly ignore them when possible. Also the pent-up emotions have in the past resulted in throwing chairs and punching out walls as he described. Years back, realized that others were intimidated by perceived aloofness and the "stare" but have never heard it spoken of as "bad-assness" lol. Also, hate it when folks don't cut to the chase when they talk. Get bored easily but intrigued with stuff with child-like interest. Also a risk-taker but not stupidly-so. Good job on video!
As an istp who is often mistaken for an intp I RELATE 100%! EVEN THAT SMITE REFERENCE BRO. And ;-; i feel ya on the "likes to work out and be sporty but is too laze and would rather game". Also I'm good in an emergency (for real, one person owes their life to how calm i can be in a stressful situation). And holy fuk wat r emotions XD #thePrivateLife. Cool vid. 10/10 approved. Your beard is epic. Peace (/^w^)/~~
I'm a teenager ISTP I've experienced both jobs and I love it equally ... carpenters are heavier physically and lighter in mind ... on the other hand electricians use less physics and use more minds ... carpenter more team work while electricians are more individual at working with problem solving .... carpenters are less risky while electricians are high risk and challenging so can you please advise me which path should I take to make a living ... handyman wood or electrician
This guy seems great :) I'm more into Socionics than MBTI these days and in that theory he would most likely be SLE from Beta quadra. Betas are badasses by definition and it's clear trait of his too :P
ISTP here, there are very few of us females around. You still remind me of myself though. I have developed my Fe quite a bit since i'm in my 30's now. I still hate when people ask me how I'm feeling. I don't know, this could take a while.
I hate when someone asks me how I feel about something mainly because I don't have a significant emotional reaction to most things. My answer is usually something close to, "I don't, but this is what I think about it if that helps"
So many comments talking about stereotypical things and saying stuff like, "but he doesn't seem like an ISTP!". The theory is not based on looks, mannerisms, hobbies and certainly not behavior. It might not be the best description of what it means to be an ISTP, but the dude did mention it was from HIS point of view. Besides, we all know it's hard to find good information about typology on the internet, especially regarding sensors. There is no such thing as "too nerdy to be ISTP", as there is no such thing as "not fit enough to be ISTP". You don't know someone based on a 7 minute video -- and a quite humorous one, I should add.
Whats to hate? Pretty much sums up most of the stereotypes of a "typical" ISTP. As an ISTP, I ❤ just about ALL FOOD in general. I don't think ISTPS are big pet owners. Also I do like 📱 games but not "video" games. And I do dabble in writing.
Matthew Alistair That's an interesting theory, and if that's the case, that means it can be developed! You guys possess Fe which makes it easier to pick up on emotions and express them (as opposed to Fi). Unfortunately because it's the stresser function, it typically manifests with anger. Could it be that maybe IXTPs refrain from expressing emotion because they fear it (both from the anger outbursts and other things)? Or like you said, because it's not developed?
The whole how are you feeling bit is strange to me. I don't think we are good at describing abstract concepts with our concrete world. Because feelings are kinda 'fluid' I feel like we just don't even try to understand them that much because they aren't really clearly defined.
Fuck! Makes me feel like an ISTP! All the mannerisms, body language, sense of humor, sarcasm, etc. aligns with mine. Although I've tested and feel confident I am an INFJ. It makes sense, since we we share functions in our cognitive stack. I am either a fucked up INFJ or a noble ISTP lol
+Juan Plascencia you have a good point about the identical functions. Though the order of the functions create a drastic difference on the individuals character.
OK. ENTP: 1. Your extraverted intuition is next null. I'm the person who likes to open up your mind. You take it well. Maybe you weep about it when you go to bed at night. 2. You are super good at logic. Brains that are walking CPUs. That is cool. The interface where to write and run my code is not so welcoming.
That stereotype stuff is just stupid! ,IT must not be the reality Always ,this video is Helpfull because he talks about himself just naturally and don't follow those tumblr things

This was excellent! I showed it to my ISTP brother who's not well-versed in MBTI; it fostered some great conversation about his type.

It doesn't get more straight forward than this.

Correct
so what do you think ..? what is more appropriate for istp ..? electrician or mechanic ..?Give me logic reason..
if you have depression you shouldnt be drinking all that caffeine. it could go away if you quit.
+cor and he should exercise like jogging

This man is spot the fuck on but that soda drinking isn't my thing, I'm strictly water drinking and grapefruit eating. Gotta keep that body fit lol
Reminds me of my buddy from university. Spot on! 👌

I really deeply want to play some TF2 with Richie at this point.
Excellent !!
and I laughed like 3 times, (can't remember exactly but it was 👍)
+Melonie glad you enjoyed it! :)

+ISTP-SWAG Nah, they can suck mine. Do you like to shut up? It's a super cool thing to do, maybe you should try it out

[ENTP] My dad and brother are ISTPs and the badass thing is very true. I like to think that some of it has rubbed off on me haha
yup right on brother

What do ISTPs get depressed about? Can you make a video about that?
being a loser in life

You're from Delaware county in PA? Same. 🙂
One of my brother's is an istp, and this is on point! 👍
As an Istj i just wanna kiss him.
Richous beard, it's missing a soul patch tho.... Do ISTPs have souls? ;P
INTP here I feel like we're probably depressed having the feeling less developed
Matthew Alistair dig the space invaders joke

He is extroverted sensing, he would know if he wouldn't be awesome
Damn your like a male version of me! Lol Great video.
that was great; kinda similar to an intp in a way
The whole how are you feeling bit is strange to me. I don't think we are good at describing abstract concepts with our concrete world. Because feelings are kinda 'fluid' I feel like we just don't even try to understand them that much because they aren't really clearly defined.

+tttekev Right, which is why I am sure I am an INFJ. On the inside I am completely different than ISTP's
Hahaha, go team istp, we're great 😂
I am an ISTP and I agree.
Great video :D
Nicky Love Thanks!
Im confused about my mbti , it's I'm estp or istp can anybody tell????????
ESTP.
cute!!
My istp is a mechanic, not a gamer
ISTP is the coolest S type
ENTJ next,please? Like,super please? :P
Orikon25 I must find one first, but if I do, I'll pull em' in.
ENTJ's are gay.
+ISTP-SWAG I like this guy, he's going places -Richie

+Ano Nymos ISTP's have introverted intuition though...
He doesn't seem like ISTP
I have an Isfp friend he is just like you. I like to annoy the shit out of him.
Atte
INFJ
This guy seems INTP rather than ISTP.
+welshnutta100 hes right on
Only because of the video games and Spider-Man shirt but I think Intp look a lot more emotional and more like bums
This guy is far too nerdy to be a ISTP. More like INTP.
probably stuck in a Ti-Ni loop. and inferior Fe makes it even worse
and he mentioned having depression so
Lol you only go with stereotypes, you will type wrong many people if you do that.
Do you have a special skill other than fidgeting on screen and telling people that you're solid confident?
ISTP = SKILLS. What is yours?
That stereotype stuff is just stupid! ,IT must not be the reality Always ,this video is Helpfull because he talks about himself just naturally and don't follow those tumblr things
He has depression...
And he landscapes
