I got allergy tested and the needles don’t actually poke through they just gently set them on your back so the liquid sticks and stays. It’s not bad at all except if your allergic to something it itches or hurts a lot depending on what your allergic too
She must have a very low pain tolerance or is quite dramatic. For anyone scared about taking this test, it’s not nearly as bad as she says it is. The needles are extremely short, like half the length of a thumb tack, and very thin so they hardly hurt at all. I’ve had mosquito bites that hurt worse. The worst part is the itchiness of the allergens they test you for and that ends as soon as you take Benadryl and use some anti-itch cream.

@@crystald3655 no allergy test will ever be 100% accurate because our body changes all the time. You can be allergic to one thing today and the next week you’re allergic to multiple.
I had this done to lol and I kinda enjoyed it idk why but nowadays it's different cause last time I needed a shot I lost it and went through three nurses probably made some quit and spent 3 hours in the ER lol best day of my life XD
Those are pricks. My son has been doing them since he was 6 months old 😂 Those reactions also aren't that bad at all. Do the skin test along with blood. Neither test is very accurate from our experience. My sons skin test said he's very allergic to dogs. We have a dog. Unless he's licked, he's totally fine. Even when he is licked, he gets a tiny amount og hives in that area that go away quickly. It said he's less allergic to cats. He had severe reactions to cats. The foods he's tested positive for he's also had reactions by ingestion so we know those ones are correct.
My son got allergy testing last week and some of his swelled up to the size of a half dollar! I was surprised at her reactions, they didn’t seem too bad.
My daughter went through this. She was allergic to every single thing, except cockroaches. The doctor said she had never been exposed to them to build up any immunity. She hates needles and passed out, again. This was her second time, too. She had one when she was 15 and now she is 35. She had a panic attack on top of that from the needles. She still has all the same allergies, plus now she has so many medication allergies. That was the main reason we went and she decided to do the full panel test of everything she was checked for back when she was 15. Unfortunately she still is allergic and she still hates needles and she ended up on the floor once more, from passing out. She is still absolutely miserable today. It will take a few days for her to begin to feel better. It kills me seeing her go through this again. These allergies run in my family. My mom, my mom's sister and my mom's dad all had severe allergies like this. I have them too. It sucks. And yes, my daughter is allergic to dogs, cats and horses and she has all 3. Her eyes run, her nose runs and her face gets splotches all over it when she is around them. She refuses to give the animals up. She is also allergic to Rabbits and she has 2 grown ones and her momma rabbit just had 5 babies yesterday. Also, these are not shots. The liquid is put under a tiny layer of skin. I'm not afraid of needles, but with my daughter being so afraid, it just made her cause herself undue stress. It doesn't hurt at the least and you can really feel anything, unless you have a reaction. It starts itching and swelling where your allergic. There is a certain point the area has to get to before you're considered allergic.
I took my allergy test a few months ago after getting an allergic reaction when I pet my cat, I was allergic to 37/44 environmental things they tested me for, no food allergies tho! I'm allergic to 13/14 trees they tested (not pine trees), 5/6 grasses they tested, 7/7 molds they tested, 8/9 weeds they tested. Both inhalants which were dust mites and cockroaches, 2/5 animals which were cats and mice. Then I went home and cuddled with my cat 😊
If anyone is terrified of dust mite you can not see them they are microscopic they live in you’re couch and bed they eat dead skin and dust so if you are allergic you have to wash you’re bedding everyday because they can make you itchy but if you don’t you can just live normal I recommend washing you’re bedding every month if you’re lazy but if you’re not every 2-3 weeks and yeah they can’t touch you they are like inside so there’s no possible way they can touch you and also don’t be scared!
I got an allergy test. Didn’t hurt at all, was just itchy. I had a big reaction to cats, minor to pollen, and a small reaction to dogs. My brother, however, passed out. I got chocolate out of it
I have to get so many it’s like thirty and it itches so bad you can,t itch it. It’s kind of like having hundreds of mosquito bites on your back and you can’t itch them. Evey time I go I cry and it’s hurts so bad. The prick things aren’t really like needles but the reason they go in the motion (on the arm). Is because the have to get the solution in your skin to cause a reaction.
I did this when I was like 6, but it was 50 things all kinds of allergies all on my back. TORTURE. Then after they waited for reactions they said it was inconclusive and they couldn’t tell if my reactions were just because I had sensitive skin or not, so I had to do bloodwork to figure it out instead. The nurse came in and told me I had to get bloodwork done now which meant one more needle and then I’d be done. I told her no. She told me I didn’t have a choice. I looked at her, then at my mom, and back at her, turned my head and threw up on the floor🤣 My mom was also a nurse and after I did that she said she was just gonna take me home. She was embarrassed because she used to work for the allergist I was seeing🤷🏻♀️😂 She was pregnant and couldn’t hold me down to do the bloodwork that day and she was PISSED she had to take me to the hospital to get bloodwork done a few days later lol.
I’ve had allergy tests and they’re not as bad as they sound. They’re mildly uncomfortable and the worst part is being itchy. I’m allergic to all grass, trees, and weeds so I was very itchy🥲
For everyone confused: testing positive doesn’t mean you are allergic, it means you sensitized to an allergen. An allergy is sensitization eith symptoms. So if she doesn’t have symptoms when she is around her cat, she is not allergic to cats
it’s ok…. i’m allergic to cats too. They don’t make me break out or anything just makes me sneeze a bit. And i still have one and she is SO clingy. But, it’s worth the sneezes
I got allergy testing! The shots aren’t really real tho. They actually don’t get sore and I’m pretty sure it’s bc they don’t go into your muscles. I think I got around 30 shots and they definitely sting but they aren’t your usual doctor’s office shots
So here’s a tip: you can do this with a simple blood draw. MUCH BETTER! I have a severe allergy to dust mites and had this done the first time. The blood draw is much safer bc you can have a major reaction to the skin testing. Here’s a dust mite tip: they thrive in humid climates so putting a dehumidifier in the bedroom helps eliminate the issue. I haven’t sneezed from dust mites in a decade.
I’m so terrified of getting allergy tested because I’m afraid I’ll be deathly allergic to something and have to be rushed to the emergency room or something but I know I really should be tested 😂
I feel you girl I actually have that happened to me once before I didn't know what was going to happen to be honest but it was a little scared but yeah it's just feels like a little Pokey thing in the back of your back and then little dots you get lifted for and then if you want they could be like this thing if you don't want to it's that much for me honestly it didn't itch that much except for like when I maybe put my back again something you know but other than that I was pretty good but yeah girl and then you can just get left with dots and pencil marks that they put like to Mark as your if whatever you have as I can allergy test or whatever
I’m just a little bit allergic to cats and dogs. The only issues I have is with cats. Quick backstory, I currently volunteer at my local humane society and I do enrichment with the cats. When their hair gets in my nose, I have an itchy/runny nose but goes away once I get home. Nothing serious thankfully and I’m still allowed to play with my dog I have at home and the cats there. (I really need to get an updated allergy test. Last one I had was a long time ago)
Chickens raised around(or who currently live around) cats produce a natural antihistamines to the protein that cause most cat allergies, in their eggs. So, you can take the eggs from chickens with cat friends, dehydrate(or freeze dry) the eggs, and sprinkle the dried egg powder onto cat food and treat your cat for the protein that they produce, that's causing your allergy. You can also just eat the eggs, but doing both would be the best option. Reducing the allergen in your house, but also protecting yourself around other cats.
Lol I remember getting this done a few times as a kid. It was barely painful at all for me, just gentle little pinpricks on the back. Like the barbs on a cats tongue level of painful. More of an interesting sensation than painful and they barely even felt like they pierced the skin. In fact, I remember getting this done being one of my favorite things to go to the doctor for loooooool. They like draw on your back and for some reason I loved that feeling so much 😂
I was 12 when I got allergy tested. Turns out i'm allergic to grass, mold, dust mites, and the most shocking, the month June. ( I guess because of pollen). These are just a few examples and now I take allergy shots every week and rinse my sinuses out every day.
I am 14 and I have soooo many allergies too. I am in my 2nd year doing these shots and I am allergic to everything outside, molds, dust, pet hair, etc. So I feel for you
My allergist used to get so annoyed when I would tell him I was going to college to work with dogs and also working a job where I was around dogs. At some point he just stopped asking. I’m extremely allergic to dogs but I’ve been around them my whole life and have gotten immune to their fur. Plus the allergy shots helped.
Old those things were painful I was 9 or 10 and I needed to get allergy tested and I got 100 on my back and 50 on each are a believe me it was painful and it also Tickled. The most annoying part is that I couldn't touch it for 15 minutes which made my back itch so bad and make it uncomfortable. Luckily my friend was there to support me and I ended up being just fine. Luckily I have a very mild case so nothing to bad. I would never want to experience it again though. LOL
I remember doing this as a kid and HATE-ING IT. I was SO relieved when I got the blood work test done instead because over the years I developed dermotographia. So much easier and less agonizing!!
in my country they just take blood samples and test your blood for allergies, maybe not all allergies but it can show flower, tree, grass and animal allergies
When I was younger I did the same thing lol, except I found it relaxing in the back part. Haven’t done one but currently I think I’m allergic to peanuts.
I KNEW THAT WASNT A DREAM. I had this done as a kid and have always thought it was a nightmare it hurt so badly. I'm going to be 20 in literally 2 days and have spent the last 12 damn years thinking I was crazy.
I had this done to me too. But I like it. For some being slightly poke on my back felt really good. Like it was taking a scratch that really needed to be scratch. Sence Covid I stop going in for my injections. I kept being around people who got covid so I was denied. I would have to restart the whole test all over again. My medical insurance expired. So I have no way of getting any health insurance unless I pay out of pocket and I can't afford it
My brother got one of these done recently. And I kid you not the only things he’s not allergic to from this allergy test is : eggs, wheat, and milk. Other then that he’s allergic to everything, I was honestly surprised 😅
These aren't accurate so he's probably not allergic to a lot more than that. Also that makes no sense as eggs wheat and milk are some of the most common allergies and up there with peanuts and fish
Ok then, but on the paper that the doctor gave him was all of the allergies he WAS allergic to but eggs, wheat, and milk was not one of them. So I’m sorry you feel that way but there is no reason to say that I was wrong when you don’t even know my brother or what he’s allergic to.
I knew this was going to be an allergy shot. I had 48 for allergies and 29 for something else when I was a kid. Man what a rough week for me. My teachers let me sleep in class because it causes so much tiredness
Omg this reminds me of the one day I got tested on my arms. One side wasn't that bad, but the other was completely red and they couldn't make sense of how allergic I am to something because they just mixed. The temptation to scratch the hell out of my arm was immeasurable
it’s a prick. like a nearly painless pin prick. i’m actually due for testing myself. i get 30-50 injections into my neck, jaw, and lower back once a week to battle chronic pain. i’d honestly prefer the pin pricks. holding your jaw open while someone sticks a needle in is something else, no comparison i can think of. it sucks.
I know that allergies alone are horrible, but watching this I was so jealous! Last time I was tested I have 6 racks with 18 needles, or 18 racks with 6 needles each (I don’t remember) and one of my reactions was so bad the nurse took a photo of it to be able to show it around. Either way, screw allergies!
“I’m partly allergic to cats..😔”

Omg I’m allergic to EVERYTHING and once I had to get 62 in my back and that was horrible. So sorry you had to feel that pain❤
i got an allergy test at 5. i still remember hiding behind the chairs screaming because i was terrified. i was late to my friends birthday party 😭
Wow this was great to pop up on my fyp cuz im going on sunday😂
If anyone is terrified of dust mite you can not see them they are microscopic they live in you’re couch and bed they eat dead skin and dust so if you are allergic you have to wash you’re bedding everyday because they can make you itchy but if you don’t you can just live normal I recommend washing you’re bedding every month if you’re lazy but if you’re not every 2-3 weeks and yeah they can’t touch you they are like inside so there’s no possible way they can touch you and also don’t be scared!
I’m pretty allergic to dust mites but it doesn’t make me itch it makes my skin puffy and sneeze to much
@@Redvelvy you should definitely get that checked out I can not tell you if you have an allergy but you’re doctor can!
@@rchloeizz my doctor did check it out I went to the doctor
Ummmm I am scared😂
@@horsesforlifeee6274 don’t be they can’t touch you
I’m partially allergic to cats and dogs too! I still love them 😂
I had to get 50 once and I was literally not allergic to anything on it like bro really.
Omg!! I can’t be the only one who thought she said “back and @rse” lol
I hope you get better.
I got an allergy test. Didn’t hurt at all, was just itchy. I had a big reaction to cats, minor to pollen, and a small reaction to dogs. My brother, however, passed out. I got chocolate out of it
i used to get this done all the time and called it the caterpillar. i loved it for some reason like it almost felt good😭
I have to get so many it’s like thirty and it itches so bad you can,t itch it.
I hate anything that has to do with needles so I'd rather just figure out what I'm deathly allergic too as life goes on. 😂
I have a fear of needles and that makes me VERY uncomfortable to think about having to go through that. Id probably pass out too 😭
I got allergy testing! The shots aren’t really real tho. They actually don’t get sore and I’m pretty sure it’s bc they don’t go into your muscles. I think I got around 30 shots and they definitely sting but they aren’t your usual doctor’s office shots
I FEEL U! I’m allergic to cats dogs and most fruits and vegetables😔
I had to get tested too not fun but not terrible im allergic to so much along with having asthma and Eczema and some other stuff so I get gurly 😅
dw girl I’m allergic to dogs and cats too 😔
OMG me too girl lol twins and I cried too so ir not alone
I’m so terrified of getting allergy tested because I’m afraid I’ll be deathly allergic to something and have to be rushed to the emergency room or something but I know I really should be tested 😂
I had to get that done when I was younger! I DIDNT KNOW THEY WERE SHOTS- ✋😭
Not a porcupine running full speed lmao so sorry for all your allergies girlie!
I’m also allergic to cats and dogs ❤
I'm allergic to dogs and cats too and I have dogs and cats and I won't stop cuddling them and giving them kisses😁.
At first I thought she said “come with me to get 37 backshots” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I feel you girl I actually have that happened to me once before I didn't know what was going to happen to be honest but it was a little scared but yeah it's just feels like a little Pokey thing in the back of your back and then little dots you get lifted for and then if you want they could be like this thing if you don't want to it's that much for me honestly it didn't itch that much except for like when I maybe put my back again something you know but other than that I was pretty good but yeah girl and then you can just get left with dots and pencil marks that they put like to Mark as your if whatever you have as I can allergy test or whatever
I’m allergic to walnuts too
I’m just a little bit allergic to cats and dogs.
Exactly. Mine was going crazy last year.
They like draw on your back and for some reason I loved that feeling so much 😂
Same im partial allergic to cats and dogs but i have a cat named Cosmo 😅
My 8 month old was less dramatic when he had his allergy testing done 😂 It's sometimes called a "scratch test" - they're not shots
LOL
At the beginning I ment to say "oh"
Mood on being allergic but still having a fur child
As someone who is allergic to dust mites: yes, they are both terrifying and awful. I've called them "dust demons" ever since i was a little kid lol
I watched my youngest brother get this done at like 6-8 months old 😢 i felt so sorry for him!! He's 27 now and gets on my ever living nerves 😂
I KNEW THAT WASNT A DREAM. I had this done as a kid and have always thought it was a nightmare it hurt so badly. I'm going to be 20 in literally 2 days and have spent the last 12 damn years thinking I was crazy.
Sadly I’m allergic to cats😢
2 minutes later: and then I got home and annoyed my cat😁
I had this done to me too.
But I like it. For some being slightly poke on my back felt really good.
Like it was taking a scratch that really needed to be scratch.
Sence Covid I stop going in for my injections.
I kept being around people who got covid so I was denied.
I would have to restart the whole test all over again.
My medical insurance expired. So I have no way of getting any health insurance unless I pay out of pocket and I can't afford it
I did all mine on my arms oddly enough and I reacted sooooooo much to everything. It's crazy! The reaction spots were so huge haha
As someone with allergies, I can confirm, this hurts like hell
Oh the skin test is absolutely horrible- I got one last summer and hated every second of it 😂feel your pain
Dudeeee my back would’ve been sooo itchy, I’m allergic to almost everything you just said that was there 😭😭
omg yes i'm allergic to shellfish as well! my favorite food is crab and i one day had an allergic reaction
as someone who myself and my sister both have autoimmune urticaria, allergy testing is hell😩
Omg this reminds me of the one day I got tested on my arms. One side wasn't that bad, but the other was completely red and they couldn't make sense of how allergic I am to something because they just mixed. The temptation to scratch the hell out of my arm was immeasurable
it’s a prick. like a nearly painless pin prick. i’m actually due for testing myself.
i get 30-50 injections into my neck, jaw, and lower back once a week to battle chronic pain. i’d honestly prefer the pin pricks. holding your jaw open while someone sticks a needle in is something else, no comparison i can think of. it sucks.
“And then I came home and annoyed my cat.” 😂😂😂😂
I had one of those too! 100 in my back 50 in my arm. Said I was allergic to olive trees 😂
