Great video very informative 🎉 It would be great if you can show practically how to setup karpenter in kubernetes cluster so that everyone feel comfortable in using karpenter
Awesome video Raj! I have a requirement where non-prod should be spot and on-demand, while prod should use on-demand nodes. We’ve purchased 3-year RIs for M7i and R families and would like to run general purpose nodes using those instance types. What would the options be in EKS Auto?
Thanks, Raj. One quick question, EKS Auto Mode clusters are upgraded automatically right ? If so, why is the upgrade option still provided for this type cluster? Is it for flexibility, or is there another reason?
Hello! The control plane is NOT upgraded automatically. You still have to initiate it. The worker nodes automatically recycle every 21 days to get the latest AMI with security patches within the same Kubernetes version. Hope this helps
Awesome video Sir 🔥. By the way I have one question is your aws sa bootcamp for beginners or a fresher with minimal knowledge looking for an amazing content to learn?
Does EKS auto costs anything extra other than the underlying infra like the the ec2 nodes ? I couldn't get clarity on the costs of the auto service in the official documentation
Awesome explanation about EKS Auto mode. It would be great if you could add pricing details as well.
Price is 12% of on demand EC2 price
I was actually waiting for your videos on EKS auto 😊
Hope it was helpful, let me know if you have any questions!
Super informative! 👌🔥
Glad you found it helpful!
As usual, love your analysis
Much appreciated!

Use User Defined Nodepools to priritize spot/ondemand and also specific instance types based on your RIs
AWS automode on🔥🔥

Hi Raj. Where can I find you in re:Invent? I’m in Re:invent.
In meetings today, was at AWS booth yesterday. Sorry :(
can we run Fargate pod on eks auto mode cluster and expose as type load balancer?
hmm? There is no such thing as fargate pod. You can run regular pods on eks auto and expose with load balancer.
Helpfull videos
Glad you liked it!
Is there any usecase for having EKS Fargate instead of EKS Auto?
TBH EKS Auto looking quite attractive compare to EKS Fargate!
Can existing EKS cluster converted to EKS Auto ?
Yes! You should see the toggle button in console or you can do via CLI
Hi Raj, please add this video in your udemy kubernetes course as well :)
Great idea, will do once I am back from Vegas 🙌

Yes, it costs 12% of ondemand price for the EC2. You can use RI, and Compute Savings plan
