Discraft has a 180 gram Stalker I have used when XL became no longer able to be made. However, I have used 170--172 where most are 171--172 grams including pre flight number backups I got because I made a mistake in thinking all overstable fairway from Discraft 6--8 were being discontinued all becuse Paul McBeth said I did not want Innova overstable fairway becuse of how you need to chase the perfect run of disc as most molds have L and regular run or use another brand where disc flies way different in some plastics.
My dad can throw one joke now rare probably just over PDGA legal stiffness disc where was a never sent in as a PDGA approved catch disc that was way way bigger then an Ultimate Disc on forehand throws as well as an Aerobie on forehand so... yeah you can if know what you are doing you can throw a big mold on forehand. Also, I have used on backhand a large Condor and done fine.

As a 6'2"/210lbs person, throwing one of these must feel like what a normal disc feels like to half the FPO. Might have to pick one up just for the experience...
Doomsday make some sneaky good discs alongside the meme discs. Cool to see them getting some love and not just the "who would ever buy these, they're so weird" videos.
For whatever reason that disc looks particularly strangely large when being forehanded. Cheap and fun is absolutely reason enough, good review 👌

The smell question was probably because Doomsday makes some smelly discs. I have a Doomsday Famine in radioactive plastic and it smells like absolute toxic chemicals. I have had it for almost a year now and it still smells like that. After I took it out of my bag my bag still smelled like that disc for another 2 months. It's the only Doomsday disc I have so I don't know if that normal, just the plastic or what, but it was insane. I looked it up to see if I was crazy and that disc had a lot of reviews confirming it.

That's the radioactive plastic smell. Other plastics don't stink.
This. The radioactive line seems to out gas a lot. I've smelled similar from cheap, flexible plastic products made in China.
@@eoghana315 though stinky. It is a durable and grippy, flexible plastic.
Can confirm. I had a Desolation in radioactive and liked it but could not stand the smell.
I love busting out my Depth Charge on the course, everyone thinks it's a paint can lid. It's super strange but actually flies great.

Every time I see Mushbutt on your discs I have to smile. That stamp is one of the best stamps out there! I need to talk with the guys at Doomsday about getting a larger version on something... minus the extra drawings.
Doomsday has some really sick discs and the Area 51 is currently my go to OS approach (really OS I go Razor Claw 3 since it flies nowhere). Cataclysm has been fighting for a spot and should spend some time in the bag soon.

I think a super heavy disc might actually be awesome for windy areas that don't have tons of tight lines (due to the width).
I like that you threw the disc in a field to learn it a bit before playing.
Hoping to do that a bit more in future reviews!

Hole 8. The forehand FD hit the other disc and knocked it down the slope. The FD bounced way up in the air. 14:45
Weird that it doesn't go as far. I guess it makes sense since it is so heavy I just expected it to glide forever with how wide it is. Wonder how it would fly if it were lighter with some dome.

I got a doomsday disc starter set when first starting out. Currently keep the despair mid range and the bleak for putting in the bag and I like them. Glad to see doomsday get some love!
I found doomsday a couple months in to my disc golf life, and I’ve been in love with them. I still put with bleaks, and the pestilence was the first disc that made me feel I could throw far, and now it’s strictly only a roller disc. But I still routinely throw cataclysm and desolation. Those discs will never leave the bag.
I clicked this for the tumbnail assuming this is doomsday. If it’s not I feel deceived. Doomsday makes up at least half my bag. I love them.
I have a bunker buster. Not in the bag, but I have one. As a man who has (almost) played for a year, the desolation and cataclysm are the best discs in the lineup. But man…. The plague is really starting to work for me, but I’m a massive doomsday fanboy. In premium plastics (isolation) the despair is also great.

I have a proto bunker buster that is much flippier than that. Listed at 7/5/-2/2 when I got it, and is accurate to the numbers id say. Mine is also much domier than the ones you have
Yeah, when I was looking into it before shooting on Infinite, they were saying it was retooled to be more OS before it got PDGA approved. The prototype is also on infinite and is listed at the numbers you say!

bunker buster and larger discs are so much fun but i get maybe not gonna be in ppl's bags. I do like how you really give them a chance not a one or two throw and done. My idea though....here's the scenario ...doubles and you and a buddy are behind some greenage. He's a little better from where you are at so you grab one of these and slam it threw the greenery to help his shot get thru?
I honestly think it'd be worse in that situation because it's heavier so it'll come out of your hand slower than a typical disc even if you throw it the same arm speed. And there's more surface area to smack more trees and leaves and stuff to slow it down even more! If it does get all the way through though you'll have a nice little gap you created 🤣

Those FD1's look very over stable in flight almost like a firebird! Is it because you're in higher elevation? My Teebird definitely don't have that much fade.
C line FD1s are just BEEF. Def the most overstable 7 speeds I've thrown. The s line and horizons are more normal but these are super beefy
I think Gateway has/had a coffee scented disc and I recall someone making a disc that smelled like runtz bananas
Sacred discs have scented discs. The lavender ones smell good.
Doomsday having a disgusting smelling disc is so on brand I love it. I have a lot of doomsday discs, and none of them smell bad, but honestly I feel like I’m missing out.
One might want a bigger dia disc to transition from normal frisbees to disc golf discs. Then again it seems better to just commit to smaller discs immediately.
Or for when you need glide, say on a low celling throw.

deliciously, but use avocado oil or something else with a high smoke point, gets soggy if you use something like olive oil or butter

A good illustration that discs don't really matter. A hulking 10" platter flies just as well as a "premier" fairway driver. Buy less, practice more.
