I have snap on, Matco and both mac knuckle savers and precision torque wrenches and the macs are the most comfortable to use by far especially the knuckle savers! All are great though!
Say what you will about products made in Taiwan, but they have higher standards than other overseas countries, for example, no one under the age of 10 is allowed to work in Taiwan factories. ;-)
We used two of those giant knipex to remove a driveshaft for a mini cooper clutch, you'd be surprised how handy those things are once you have them in the shop!
Mac daddy Michael is definitely the "soft sale" guy, because he is like oh, you never seen that well let's take a look. Then he follows it up with " that'd sure be nice to have huh." Good move, way to go.
Mr clay .. yesterday I bit the bull it and bought that Mac impact set in the flyer 5 piece set with two batteries I have lots of dewalt stuff so it only made sense ..my wife thought it was such a good deal she says she’s going pay me back as valentines 😎 win win
I bought one of the creeper seats that you flip on it’s side and it becomes a step stool.. it was in flyer 1 . very sturdy and well made.. has already come in super handy in the week that I’ve had it
I recently made my fist Mac tool purchase from Mac Daddy. The ratchet is far superior compared to my SK, Carlyle, Pittsburgh, Paramount or my Craftsman(USA). I will ordering more ratchets from Micheal in the near future.
When he said granddad's set, I felt old. My sae wrenches are Mac, 1/4 to 1-3/8, got em in 1989, back then metric was not as prevelent as they are now, so a tractor trailer mech usually had at least 2 sets of sae, for all the lines and fittings. Especially from 13/16 to 1-1/4.
you want good wrench's buy a set of wright grip. put the rest of the money you saved back in youre pocket to buy more sweet tools. if you want identical set to knuckle saver but cheaper look at proto. the wright grip are better than both though.
And I need to just take one or two wrenches when the Mac guy was there I bought a couple of the knuckle Savers years ago but I do like the Snap-on just a little bit better the way it feels in the hand
God I wish we had a Mac truck that came to my shop :( Matco comes on Thursday for me, our Matco truck was looking a little sad. Didn't have a few of the tools I was looking for, mostly just sold all of them out. Good for him, sad for me though haha. Got me the little baby streamlight you can clip on your hat, last one he had in stock (AAA battery one). Nice little guy, I like that the clip works both ways (Can clip it to your hat use as a light, or in your pocket/belt for storing). Was talking about tools, and told him if he ever wants to sell something to me, make sure it comes in blue
Can't comment in handtools, but when it comes to high-end and precision PC components, all the major players are Taiwanese companies. You would think they would be Japanese, but they'rw Taiwanese. So with that in mind I'd be willing to give other Taiwanese componets a shot.
Clay if you want a stainless steel table and like me in trying to save some money on certain stuff, keep an eye out on Marketplace under the restaurant equipment section and search for used or even unwanted stainless steel food prep or food cut tables... If you happen to find anything then all you have to do is reinforce those underneath with plywood and Something like pieces of 2X8 and you would have a solid stainless table like that.... I've got a couple from a local Papa John's that I used to work part-time at back in the early 2000's and they were just going to throw them away and I decided to keep them and find a use for them but they look as good as they did when I first brought them home, stainless steel's tough,,, it'll last you forever!!!
Another test to check if a good stainless steel top is the magnet test.If it does not stick, good stainless steel.I see nothing wrong with made in Taiwan tools which are a lot better than the made in China hand tools. The Mac knuckle busters, there is a the Proto ASD versions and I have a Proto ASD set 6mm to 24mm.The thin wrenches also come in handy on some brake caliper slides, one is the 15mm used on Chrysler caliper slides
The shop provided tools we use are Blackhawk by Proto. They've seen are manners of use and abuse and keep ticking. I'm sold on budget line tools from a reputable name... USA or not.
Looking for an old square set of SAE Mac Knuckle Savers, might go Ebay and try and get a few at a time. Nothing wrong with the Expert and Blue Point stuff for a guy starting out that can't stomach the price tag or the high weekly payment for a set of Knuckle Savers or Flank Drive Plus. It was quite a few weeks before My 1/4 - 1 1/4 Flank Drive set was mine. The old bead blast finish Blue Points were actually really nice.
Clay, y’all are just as cold there in Upper Mississippi as we are in Lower Alabama. I have been wanting to coach my oldest Boy on changing the front calipers on the 2003 Taurus his MawMaw gave him. It’s just too cold! I have to do it outside as we don’t have a garage.
Hey Clay, do you own the Mac Knuckle Savers? How about a Flank Drive Plus verse Knuckle Saver video? As in grade 8 bolt, nut, vise, both wrenches, get it on!
I don’t own the knuckle Savers they are way over priced. I do have snap on flank drive plus but honestly they aren’t any better than the max precision torque or any other wrench made in the last 10 years. The best bang for the buck os Wright grip 2.0
I ordered those wrenches first week they were in the flyer, still don’t have them. Guess my dealer never got any before backorder... disappointed by my Mac dealer :(
Next time mac rolls around could you check if he has any more of the monster mobile magnetic toolbox trays, I’m from New Mexico and have been looking for a set for my tool cart. Or if you can provide me with his contact info that would be amazing!
Hi! Could you please do a review on the Mac tool Ratcheting wrenches with some nice up close views? I'm having a hard time finding much on them online and they look great for the price. I see many Mac tool reviews on your channel and I figured you would have access to them. Thanks!!
Wounder if the table is lifetime like the toolboxes? Thats why I never bought knuckle saver wrenches because all the ones I've seen the wrenches just look so damn uncomfortable when you put force on them
Curious as to what the differences really are between snap on and blue point? Are they made in the same location? Both USA? We only have a snap on truck in VT.
Hey they work ! And to be honest if you are happy that’s all that matters. If they make you money or save you money it’s all the same. I don’t judge anyone by what they have. I remember back when ai didn’t have tools the struggle it was just to have what I could get by with. Just do you my man! It’s all good here I promise !
I remember the struggle to have larger impact sockets that I needed (above 1”) and would go to Lowe’s and buy 2 at a time each week because that’s what I could afford.
You bet im happy with mine ! I am the only guy at the shop with the colorful Pittsburgh pro sockets lol xD, and flashy black and orange Matco ratchet life is plain with out colors.

Would like to start taking advantage of the flyer deals but wondering do i need to pay in full or how it works. Newer tech on a smaller budget.
I gotta deal on em 980 lmao it’s a nice table but Mac daddy Michael paid to much for that table because I don’t think he would gouge clay or any of his customers who are goo to him.
Do a real video where you speak the truth about how snap on tool ain’t like they used to be, even Halfords expert compete with them with ease, Irish man here by the way.

By far Mac Daddy Michael has the best stocked truck. My son bought the sockets that are on special, great deal.
I got mine Tuesday finally. Love the knuckle savers

Thank you Clay! This was one of the funniest videos I've seen in a while. Very informative and cool!
Thanks ! I appreciate you watching
Can't believe he has any of those wrench deals left. Wish I had a Mac tool truck to get a set.
Text him
Nick is really cool and funny as heck!
I recently made my fist Mac tool purchase from Mac Daddy. The ratchet is far superior compared to my SK, Carlyle, Pittsburgh, Paramount or my Craftsman(USA). I will ordering more ratchets from Micheal in the near future.
that is a tool truck almost as good as Mr. Nick's truck with a bathroom. JDTCO is fun to watch. keep the mac daddy videos coming.
Great video Clay. Always pumped for Mac daddy Thursday!
Next week you should look at the gearless blend door wrench kit from lisle on the wall behind his driver seat that thing is a great tool.

Mac gives students a 50% discount and still makes money on all tools. Keep that in mind when buying from tool trucks. Same with snap on, and matco.
Those knuckle saver wrenches are really nice. Thanks
I hate the cold so damn much and I live in Wisconsin, but the 3 months of summer is great haha
We got our cold snap today, -18 for the high with wind chill........
The expert line of wrenches amazing great price.
And I need to just take one or two wrenches when the Mac guy was there I bought a couple of the knuckle Savers years ago but I do like the Snap-on just a little bit better the way it feels in the hand
Send some of those precision torque wrench bundles to long island, been waiting 3 or 4 weeks for mine to arrive.
I’ve had my knuckle saver sets for over twenty. Not one failure
God I wish we had a Mac truck that came to my shop :(
Matco comes on Thursday for me, our Matco truck was looking a little sad. Didn't have a few of the tools I was looking for, mostly just sold all of them out. Good for him, sad for me though haha. the knuckle savers are great wrenches. I think they're the same as the Proto full polished combination wrenches.
I instantly subbed to jdtco as soon as clay mentioned him. His story sounds legit and im intrigued. Cant wait to see what he is up to
Mechanic my whole life retired I missed the tool trucks
Can't comment in handtools, but when it comes to high-end and precision PC components, all the major players are Taiwanese companies. You would think they would be Japanese, but they'rw Taiwanese. So with that in mind I'd be willing to give other Taiwanese componets a shot.
I use USA, German, and Japanese tools. Some of the Taiwanese stuff is every bit as good, especially because some of it is the same stuff.
I'm happy Mac revised their wrenches, the old knuncle savers dig into my hands, no bueno.
Great video as always Clay!
Thank you. I just seen a pic of some fired chicken you are having for supper...... looks mighty fine !
Love JDTCo......videos are awesome
The knuckle saver is made by proto and is way better than the precision torque.
That Nicki Minaj part in the intro made me laugh

Be sure you take a try on that mac BWP151. Tellin ya. Love my dewalt version and the mid torque one for the car trunk. Stupid 150ftlb lug specs.
I have that expert wrench set and I bought the big combination wrench set from mac
You know I absolutely don’t mind the “2nd” brands on tools on the trucks.
nothing wrong with the 2nd brand on the truck, i got a digital blue point air chuck, probably one of my favorite purchases ever off the truck.
Ihave one from 11 years ago and it's still going

I guess I missed the "comparison" of the two wrenches. What are the differences and benefits of one wrench over the other?
Nothing beats snap on wrench’s
I wouldn't trade my knuckle savers for any other wrench
