I ordered my XLT Ecoboost Maverick in January 2022 and received it November 2022. I prefer leaving it stock, mainly for the gas mileage. On the highway I have been getting 34 mpg with the cruise on and driving 75mph. In town driving I average 26-27 mpg. Love my Maverick!
@@PerformanceOnWheels Man… I just saw That Dude In Blue review a fox body with a 2.0 from an escape. Seems like there’s more to the 2.0. I hear the transmission is the weak point.
I'm torn. I like both. Lowered mini truck is cool af. Lifted is too. I think for me, it'd be a level kit up front and a mild AT tire. Definitely don't want to impact mpg's too much. Or the ride quality.
The lifted one is done perfect and looking amazing. I’d lower one over lifting one of if I had one but I need a truck that I can take down dirt roads and trails to go camping and towing my dirt bikes and other toys.
Now that was a fun and informative video. I was set on lowering a new Maverick, but now I'm rethinking it. I've owned lifted and lowered cars, trucks and SUV's and I like them all. I was shopping for wheels for lowered Mavs yesterday and just came across this video. NOW, I may just lift one. Fair comments in the beginning about proportion but with all the body cladding the Mavs have it leans more towards an offroad look to me, even though I was so set on lowering. This was the video I needed to see.
Ecoboost XLT, 4k FX4 in Atlas Blue, AWD. Installing the Goodwin Racing lowering kit with sway bar in the next week or two. Get at me if you want to test drive mine so you can report on the Goodwin kit for these fine people.
Yeah. I have no friends or family and I need a tiny truck with a bed that can haul my snowmobile and motorcycle.... this 4-door trend is fuking garbage and I hate it. I hate the epa, I hate north american safety standards. fuck off and let me buy a real ute. I have cash you cocksuckers.
I prefer the slammed one. I have to add though. I live in NC and we don’t get much snow at all(maybe one good snow a year if that) but if I lived up north I would go with the lifted awd
I’d buy the XL Hybrid and put a good snow tire on the front for winter. I hate anything but steel wheels because they all let me down due to failure around the valve stems. Otherwise, the hybrid XL is all I ever need. The reality is though for the money a standard ecoboost is all you can buy and having AWD is the only way to buy it if you’re going to sell it every 5 years. If I could get the hybrid, which I ordered twice and never got, I’d prefer it.
Good video guys. I have an xl ecoboost 4k tow , tinted , cactus grey like yours. Have aftermarket wheels on, spoked mags, stock tires for summer. Also have the stock steelies painted matte copper with 30" at's for winter. It looks awesome either way. I have been eyeing up the eibach lowering springs for a little bit. Im only hesitant because Im not sure the winter tires would fit with the lowering springs.. I also would like to get a steeda strut bar, the handling is pretty good but i think it could be better.
Personally I think a lowered f150 looks much better but actually like the look of the lifted maverick better I just wish they offered the maverick in a short bed
Both look good to me. I would prefer a lil drop and some 19 or 20 inch wheels. Is the black on the exterior of both the same finish? I seem to notice the XL black more than the XLT or lariat
Struggling. I've got a 24 FX4. My preteen daughter rides horses. I'm a sportscar guy. I imagine life happens from the back of a pickup (relax man, you're two tents). I'm thinking "lowering: because we often have to get stuff out of the bed and my daughter wants to get all her scratchy horse wear all over the side of the bed while she's up on her tip-toes getting her boots or saddle blanket or whatever. Also, I want it to be better in the turns. But I don't want to limit where I can go and lowering will do that. Some venues (and roads) around here are not good. I would hate for the whole "not a truck" contingent to see me get stuck because I lowered it.
I've never owned a lifted vehicle.. but I've driven multiple ones. They ALL sucked.. maybe if that's what you're going for (a horrible ride) then go for it. I also don't like the look at all. I have owned 1 lowered vehicle (2014 jeep patriot), which was lowered before I bought it. I only put about 5k miles on it before I ended up selling it. It looked awesome, but rode very stiff- of course. I'd just stick with stock suspension..
I really like this channel and this video especially, hope you guys do well. But I would give one piece of constructive feedback. This video just seems a little too RUclipsr try hard. I’m not saying that to be rude, but for example you don’t need to put sound effects with every bullet point. It gets a little tiresome. The pacing also just seems very rushed, trying to cram a bunch of quick information. I get you’re trying to avoid creating a long video, but I think a more relaxed pace would help some details stand out more. Again, don’t want to come across as nitpicking, but hope you guys are able to find a solid groove for the future. Thanks for putting up these types of videos, I think the concept is great.
I never saw the logic in lowering a truck it just takes away its purpose. But if going to do it the Maverick or the Ridgeline being not true trucks in the sense of having no frames are the best candidates. Well executed!
Honestly seems the most practical, as long as it doesn’t impact payload capacity or towing capacity. The lower the truck, the easier it is to put things in the bed. Also improves mileage. Seems like win win win
How much does it cost to lower it? I have a 2024 XL Hybrid....I'd like to lower it and get some black wheels...It's Aztec blue so it shines well in the sun....I like the plain XL wheels but I may need to change that....
Hear me out… Instead choose neither. Lifted you lose the mpg’s, dropped you lose max payload correct? While it’s only 1.5k lbs that’s all I need for what I do and need it. So instead get a 1” kit to raise the front since the Mav naturally is lowered in the front. Get tires slightly bigger and you have yourself the Mav at everything it was built to be without sacrifice. That’s my plan anyways.
Ordered a cactus Gray, lariat, black appearance package 2024. Can't decide on lift or lower. I might lower it in the rear just to level it. I live in Montana so even though lowering is awesome looking, still sketched since Ill need it in winter. Haven't decided lol
Higher better, lifted!
I really like the raised version. Nice job gentlemen.
Thank you!

Sweet!
Also hybrid AWD... Game changer.
On your mileage reports, are you able to adjust the speedo to the change in tire diameter ? Or are you using gps for your m8lage estimates?

2025 ST over the 2025 Rattler/Rapter….can’t wait for the ST because all the mods are factory done. Color? My guess one of the new colors offered

Tremor with 1 inch level kit and 245 70 17 K03's is my goal. I already have the tremor, waiting on the wildpeaks to wear out to do the rest.

How do you feel about dropping it with air bags?
Sorry. I would lift it. Maybe cause I am a X Gen 80's kiddie.

XLT FX4 4K tow and leave the suspension stock.
Can you lift the 23 FWD hybrid XLT or can you not? I heard of issues with this

Same. I like the look of it lowered more, but I like convenience and off road capabilities being leveled or lifted..

2 inch’s

In the winter it’s great. I’d never take it on an actual off road trial. It’s a uni body so it’s unable to flex
