The site of this poor creatures pain breaks my heart. i couldnt imagine being there and seeing it in real life. Thank you and your group for giving the beautiful ray his ability to live back. *claps claps claps*
Awesome video. Such a beautiful creature. Thanks for helping it. I was snorkeling in St. Thomas, and a spotted Eagle Ray approached me. It circled out over the reef and kept coming back to me for 6 passes. It came back the next day and made 2 passes by me. It was awesome, and I will never forget it.
Nature do not have such things as evil.... But seeing as we use that world, we are also the most good animal on the planet. You will not find any animal trying to help as many other animals in the world as us humans.
purplekillerpenguin And we where buildt that way by mr nature. >.> I would think most animals are the same way. Exept they are not able to do what we can.
Thanks for helping or saving a life and thanks for posting I remember when one of my cats/kids came in with a baby / young squire and as she drop him or hear i heard a sound I was dead on my feet as they say and pick up the little thing and stuck him deep into my chest and with last words said please doni't bite any thing and layed down to sleep I let go the next day hopinping all would be well as he seem to find new life
going on my first ocean dive next month. if I have the pleasure of getting this close to a stingray I know I will cry lol. they are such magnificent animals
Peter Broadey Don't worry according to this channel and its followers god or the species will eventually talk to divers and pass the word around. LMAO.... fucking idiots.
Please please please please NEVER LEAVE ROPE, FISHING LINES OR PLASTICS IN RIVERS AND OCEANS!! Millions of creatures suffer horribly because carelessness. It only takes a minute. Please?
MilesDei I happen to know of someone who is a paraplegic and scuba dives. He doesn't have the use of his legs but manages with his arms. If you love the water and feel comfortable in it, and you can swim, maybe you can approach a local dive shop and talk to an instructor.
I was wondering that myself as the Manta began to swim away I saw the line of rope that started near the mouth and went over his body. I hope it wasn't the one that had sewn it's mouth shut. If the rescuer reads this, do you think you cut away the ropes that would have certainly prevented him from feeding? There is also an outside chance another diver may encounter the same ray and cut away that last remaining rope. If your video was published soon after the incident, then the diving community in that area would be aware of what happened and to keep an eye out for that hapless creature. From other videos I have seen, it sounds like the area you were diving is popular for Manta Ray viewing. I believe the couple in "Gone with the Wynns" were diving in the same area looking for Manta Rays on one of their stops in the Philippines. I'm also heartened by the comment made by one of the rescuers below (Annika Allan) they did manage to cut all the lines, at least now we know the remaining loose line has a good chance of coming off. Perhaps that will happen when he/she performs those high above water flying demonstrations. I've seen them land backwards and not always face first, at that point physics will take over and free the rope. Thank you for what you folks did and sharing the video with us. There are a lot of kind and compassionate people around to appreciate what you did in a big way.
Hi, Annika. I'm Corey, I'm watching the video where you and dive partner set free the Manta Ray from the rope that was tied around him. Did you use your dive knife to cut the rope that was tied around him? Corey. Corey Hansen from Canada. P.s. I just subscribed to your Chanel.
Videos of wild animals apparently seeking human help are fascinating examples of cross-species communication. This video features a diver trying to win the trust of a manta ray by holding out his arm and not approaching the fish. I've seen exactly the same gesture used with wild mustangs, anxious dogs and wild squirrels. The person cannot move if they do this. Standing still, arm extended, is possibly a gesture many species would recognize as an offer of help.
What terrible things we've done to these beautiful animals. All are in danger of disappearing off the face of the Earth, and all because of carelessness
Hi. I'm making a non-profit wild-life documentary and I would like to use your video to ilustrate the inteligence of the manta ray. If you are willing to cooperate with us please let us know and, please, provide us a clean high res copy of the video. You will be mentioned in the credits. Sorry, but it is all I can offer. Thanks
Hi Annika, what a chance you guys were there at the right time and could help this poor manta ray! I work at Newsflare, we're an agency that licenses videos to media outlets, and I'd be interested in having a chat with you about this video. Please could you email me at laure@newsflare.com when you get this? Thank you!
wish the manta would have stayed longer for all the entanglement to be removed. it must be incredibly painfully having someone pull at the strings. may i say it is very courageous to even try to help in this situation, bravo to the diver! poor manta..
What's amazing is that animals seem to instinctively know that humans can help them.
We weren't born on this planet to watch it die slowly.
In fact they mostly swim to any animal in seek of death.
Alternatively, it could just have swum swimming over because it was curious, and we were able to help it.
They must mistaken us with mermaids

*sight. Breaks my heart, too.
So glad you were able to help the poor creature.

According to the idiots of this channel maybe it wanted to have sex with you and talk? LMAO... people and animals... idiots.
You are a blessing 💖 So glad you helped him.
Incredibly wonderful
its just a rope. a mere rope. what a great power of destruction we have. we can kill giant animals with our smallest effort of irresponsibilities.
Chousa Heidan In reality of nature we are the true monsters...
We are the true and the biggest monsters...The most evil animal on the planet...
Nature do not have such things as evil.... But seeing as we use that world, we are also the most good animal on the planet. You will not find any animal trying to help as many other animals in the world as us humans.
During our existence, every time our species was introduced into a new environment we killed off all the mega fauna. we are destroyers.

That's special...you guy's are special, there's alot we can learn from this.
Thank you for sharing.
These are incredibly beautiful
Nice work. Happy news is good news.
God have mercy on the other creatures in trouble.
One can only hope that when we or if we need help someone steps in
At times we have been the ones eat
Independent Thinker
Yea kinda like a great white flipping a baby seal around before eating it. God makes some of the coolest useless shit.
God did this to them wtf

One creature helped, probably hundreds or even thousand out there like this one though with no help.
Could be right on point but ever little bit helps and if he passes it on who
knows no more nuc's

Set up a underwater shop where fish can come have stuff removed. XD
Caim Pact
my drink just shot out my nose!! LOL!!!
People cannot find "alien" life, when there is a vast variety of them on this same planet, under their nose, including people themselves.
Man, that thing got ripped up.
Please please please please NEVER LEAVE ROPE, FISHING LINES OR PLASTICS IN RIVERS AND OCEANS!! Millions of creatures suffer horribly because carelessness. It only takes a minute. Please?
Fed up With Lies so many ignorant bastards out in our beautiful oceans, destroying them & hurting/killing innocent animals/mammals!!
Thanks bro.👌👌
Nice job! Great encounter.
Did you guys finish removing the line from the manta or just a part of it?
We managed to get most of it off. All if the lines got cut but not fully removed. Wish we had more time.
Annika Allan My goodness, I would give anything to be able to dive like that, as a paraplegic I can imagine the free feeling I would feel down there.
MilesDei I happen to know of someone who is a paraplegic and scuba dives. He doesn't have the use of his legs but manages with his arms. If you love the water and feel comfortable in it, and you can swim, maybe you can approach a local dive shop and talk to an instructor.
MilesDei you should seek that out and make it happen. life's to short to wonder.

great job man
The small red on the sides of the screen make it seem like your in a game and hurt.
I've always wondered how these beautiful animals know to come to humans for help.
They know you can help

Well done for helping this lovely ray

Those rips in its fins the line made look horrifying. Poor ray.
So, you left the rest of the cord tangled around it? How is that a rescue?
The red around the edges means you need to find a health pack
God bless you people too good

Just like Steve Irwin , Edward will meet his match with the talking species one day.

that's bad ass!!! that's important .👏👏😎😎😎👏. but not as important as throwing a ball round😕😕😕😕 that's wrong.
It, s amazing
Are they good eating
Why I don't fish anymore even in the lakes.
Great job, but as a fellow diver I must say that the rescuer's low slung tank is annoying me ssssooo much!

What a shame that the job did not appear to be completed.
They never seem to complete the job in these "rescue" videos.
