Damn, this is fast becoming my favourite watch review chanel! Videography on point, information pertinent but with a unique pov that i dont see elsewhere, and a true appreciation for the budget category. Keep it up man!
I got the orange version and absolutely love it. It is a little chunky but the looks, lume and case shape is awesome. The 60 click bezel feels amazing!!
Spot on fella. I’ve got a Seiko 5 a supposedly field watch with great reviews all over the internet but no one mentions the glass is proud of the bezel which I chipped the edge making a completely and utterly design flaw
Tremendous value for money. Love the dial color on this one; reminds me of a 50 year old Seiko DX that I have. Been waiting for someone to bring back that '70's color.
Great review. The photography in this guy's reviews is always top quality, so you get a really good idea of how and what the watch looks like on wrist. For anybody thinking of buying a Citizen Diver, the following feedback may be of use; I have had my Promaster 200m Diver for nearly ten years and it has been subjected to swimming in rivers and seas on a regular basis with no problems and on top of that, no scratches or blemishes on the mineral glass.
Thanks. I like the interesting and helpful ways that you showcase the very appealing nature of the various alternative options that you can achieve with this great value piece. God bless.
Got both the yellow and the orange for total of $384 shipped . I am over the moon with them, absolutely Seiko slayer (and I love my many Seiko watches)
@@romanmichaelhamilton8729 i asked the same question. Jomashop has them, also gioiapura. Probably you can find coupon codes to take 10 or 15% off at Gioia pura and $20 off at Jomashop if you are a first time buyer. But at that price I saw them with the rubber strap. I think it is better to buy the bracelet version for 30 more. It depends where you are if they charge sales tax or VAT. SO one may be better than the other depending on your location
Amazing production quality. I wish you have more subscribers. You deserve it, with that kind of work that you put in your videos. And the watch looks really cool!
Fantastic video, as always, thank you! Both the gold yellow and burnt orange colours of this line are beautiful for sure. This is a fantastic all-round dive tool watch that might have me calling into question whether I keep my green Orient Kamasu...
Received this yellow version on bracelet last week. There is kind of big problem with clasp - when I stretch my palm backwards and wrist tendons stretch, the metal piece that folds over the clasp jumps open. Tried it in several ways, it just happens, at least intentionally. So it could happen unintentionally too, like when leaning on a table or against a wall. 2 push button system would have been safer. EDIT: I found another piece of transparent protection plastic piece on the contact surface of clasp, removed it, and it doesn't open anymore. Keeping this watch on bracelet, creates a feeling of more expensive piece than aftermarket rubber.
Another great offering from Citizen. This one with the yellow dial is really nice. I was tempted , but another purchase distracted me from this one for now. Anyway a great watch for the requested price in my opinion.
I love it! Casio and Citizen Group watches are the best for me. Practical, reliable, tough, eco-drive, minimal maintenance, well made, and inexpensive. Got the Unite the Blue ProDiver and one of my favorites in my collection. Really want the “fujitsubo” but this is far more obtainable for me this winter. Also they didn’t make the fujitsubo with a black dial and titanium bracelet.
Beautiful piece indeed , seems citizen takes place of affordable watches for people where seiko got crazy and left this spot already. My next purchase would be blue color diver.
Update: after getting mine, as much as I love it, two negatives: The bezel is too shiny and tall. Hopefully it will dull over time, but it will stay tall. As cool as the dial is, the citizen logo and other text being the same colour as the dial makes it look a bit cheap. I'd have preferred it to be given a black or silver finish to distinguish it a bit more. Niggle: mineral glass. Not so much for the scratch potential, more for clarity, as it seems to hide the amazing dial detail at certain angles. Main Positives: the spec. A true diver. Fantastic value. The case. Simple, brilliant shape, defying its size, super wearable. Can't wait to get it on a tropic. Movement. Miyota 8k series get a lot of side-eye, apparently for being noisy or feeling wobbly. But as this is a rugged dive case, I've not experienced any of that, it's negatives aren't noticeable at all.
Great video, this is a good looking watch. I love their eco-drive watches. I have an older version of the citizen promaster skyhawk blue angels edition. This year my wife bought me the Citizen Promaster skyhawk CB 0230-81E titanium watch and I love it. She made a good choice. I also like the tsuyosa series, the yellow dial is great. But this diver is on my list now. 👍👍👍👍
Citizen supplies for a big market with this watch, thinking about Seiko5 and Orient mako or Kamasu. This citizen looks very retro which I like. Thanks for the review.
Seiko SNK809 was the gateway model into the hobby for many of us I suspect :-) Cheap, great dial and an exhibition caseback so you can see what's going on. If you want to spend more the Certina 38mm DS Action diver is stunningly nice for the money. Comes in steel or titanium.
Really good review and spot on about the color difference hands/indices. I had the NY0125 the steel with gold bezel. But gold does not match my style. I ordered this with the blue dial, and it looks great. I have seen the titanium NB6021. The blue version has a very glossy, shiny bezel that is a bit off putting. The NY0129 blue dial looks better in that regard. And it is a nice, unusual blue. You almost made me regret not getting the yellow one. But I feel this watch has a large face and is a bit chunky, so the blue may minimize that aspect. I also already have a Tsuyosa yellow dial. My biggest gripe is the minute hand that is a little undersized. It should be a little longer and wider. The dial is larger. Probably this would have looked better 1mm smaller in diameter and thickness. But overall it looks nice. More style and personality than all these microbrands. The ratcheting clasp is great. The pin and collar is a bit of a pain to resize. Need to do it in a box, or a very clean desk, as those tiny collars are hard to see and easy to lose. Definitely the bracelet is worth the extra 30 euros/dollars
What a good looking watch. I own a few Eco- Drives which I really like including the EcoZilla. I need an auto in my collection. The yellow was a really nice choice!
Pretty cool watch.. I have a couple ny0040s blue and black, they look much better than the new ones and I think most will agree but I think I'm gonna try one anyway since I crap 100$ bills
I bought this watch since the first days came in Europe, i was trying to buy back a seiko orange monster but this citizen came around. If i had to put a marker on, then, "TOOL" is the right one. Real 200m iso diver, micro adjustment bracelet, light brush steel, powerful lume etc. Οbjectively speaking the only minus are the thin hands, the big plus is the brush case ohh makes you revise all the polish divers and blinky feeling against brush more "serious" case
Love it, I would buy one in the Yellow Gold and Bracelet, but it fails my case thickness limit of 12.5mm. I really like the superior classic look does it for me. Sadly the case thinknes kills and instant sale.
I seriously considered getting this yellow watch. Still have a small itch for it....but I was able to get the blue dial (still quite a nice dial) for $100 below the cost of the yellow color. The price won me over. But that yellow dial really is nice.
I got the blue as well. The blue bezel insert looks better than the Fujitsubo’s, which is too shiny. This video almost made me regret not getting the yellow. But it is a bit of a chunky, large watch, and the yellow would have highlighted that. The blue makes it a little more understated, it minimizes the dimensions. Pretty sure this line of watches was released (2021) prior to the Ti Challenge reissue. First variants of this one were the black/gilt and brown variants.
I was thinking of getting one of these or the new fugu but wound up going with the classic NY0040 along with an aftermarket J bracelet from Long Island Watch. I'm happy with my choice. The NY0040 is getting hard to find now that they don't seem to make it any more.
This watch is a real lovely especially with that yellow and brown colored dial. This would be a top contender if you are looking for a budget dive watch. My only real complaint would be the 50MM lug to lug width which makes it a bit large for someone with a 6 inch wrist. The more expensive Challenger diver comes with a 9 series Miyota movement, sapphire crystal, and titanium case. Of course that watch costs twice as much. On JomaShop the Challenger diver with titanium bracelet is $549. Which is a bargain compared to many of those more expensive Seiko Diver watches with 6R25 movement.
Thanks for the review - I just picked this up on a black friday sale ! I'm in the UK and via a seller in Paris, this was around £180, what a bargain. I didn't get the aqualung box unfortunately, so that could be specific to each reseller? Great channel, have been watching for years but only just subbed

Im thinking of buying citizen after many years. They dont have the appeal of seiko or orient to most watch collector but their quality and price with budget seiko diver were more superior
Wow, incredible quality video, and also beautiful watch. Can you please tell me your wrist size, since i have littlebit problematic situation because of my fairly large wrist.
I have lots of Seikos, and a few Citizens. I've been looking for a proper 200m diver that won't cost me a fortune. Saw a 40mm version of this with Gold Bezel here in the UK discounted to £279 at an official dealer.
I love that Citizen and Orient are greatly filling the affordable range void Seiko left.
Seiko is very much affordable for what you get. Don't compare this $250 Citizen to $2000 Seikos, completely different category.
@@mszigetihu The fuck are you talking about?
@@mszigetihu I think he was comparing it to the $300-$500 dollar Seikos. The high end Seikos can hardly be considered "affordable" for most people.
Probably he was referring to the retired skx
Citizen is smart. For 62MAS enjoyer like me but unwilling to pay the homage tax that Seiko set, this watch has an interesting proposition.
That’s a beautiful watch at a very reasonable price. Citizen never ceases to amaze me. They’ve been a part of my collection for many years.

Difficult to justify buying 3k or more divers after this indeed...
Haha! Well said! :)

It's difficult either way because you can eat all year for that money.

Congratularions! You can never go wrong with a doxa! I have 3 now :))
Stay tuned! More doxa's are coming up! :)
That dial looks amazing especially for the price. I’m definitely interested. Thanks for the review.

That's a beautiful watch. The dial is mesmerizing. Cheers!
Great job. I bought a Citizen for the first time in many years last week. Solid watches, for sure.
