Most badass letter opener I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Reminds me of that one "tiny guns" video made by Corridor haha
Please start selling these!
I would like this comment but you got 666 likes, I wanna keep it like that lol

They'll find it in 1000 years and swear there were tiny people in our time
Tought the same.

Wait, there aren't?

There are tiny people in our time.
One thing really like about his work is he is very detail oriented, and takes into account the smallest edges and curves, he must be a perfectionist
Hah! That’s the understatement of the year, I think😂
You must be new here
Except when it comes to glue it seems.
that's Swiss for you
He is a Swiss machinist. I would expect nothing less.
I want to see him make that machete back into a stainless bolt.
Just play it backwards
🤣🤣🤣😄😄
He will make a tool for it.
Don't challenge him. He's famous for restoration
Funny thing is, I have no doubt that he can if he wants to. The guy is a genius.
Please like and subscribe, help me to build up this channel. Be a part of "my mechanics". Next video is comming this weekend. Thank you
@TRG thank you! I'm from Switzerland
@SAUL BOBBINS thanks a lot! Yeah it would awesome if i could do youtube professionaly.
Wow great Job 👍🏼♂🙋🏽👌 I wanna buy this tell me how can i do the deal?

Hey buddy, nice work!
I'm curious about your desk and tools, that are clean, how did you do it?
Who just wakes up one day sees a bolt and Says I’m going to make a machete out of that
jajajaj
literally just thinking the same thing
This man clearly, and me, just don’t got the tools
Lol
Artists... Artists think that.
When I cannot sleep at night, then sometimes I watch my mechanics. It's like a kind of 💎higher meditation. This is one of my favorites videos. ☀️
For me now it’s still 3:40 am... so yeah
@@skeletongeneral4309 Great ! Hope you had a good time.😁 I see, we have something nice in common.💎
she must be a karen
i just feel it in my balls
I bet this is a bot acc
Am I the only one who's shocked with the amount of brass he used for the scales?
The same thing went through my mind.. That was just way too much, less than a quarter of it would have been enough.
Totally, remember that old cartoon where the wood cutters cut down an entire tree, then a machine shop whittles the entire tree down to a toothpick? This guy has metalworking skills I would kill for, plus infinite calm and patience it seems, but he's so bad at estimating material usage & wastage. Could've done this entire build with a bolt a quarter the size, and a tiny sliver of brass.
Me too😟
I was just thinking the same thing. What a waste of good material and time. He could have cut one piece down the middle and used it for both sides.
Now it time to build a miniature warrior to put it to use.
Looking forward to "Mini Machete - Perfect restoration" in 40 years.
Jounan lol
Naaah his stuff doesn't rust or break
Haha
I have binged watched all your video's...please make more. Your skills are over the top impressive!!!!

Then it is going to stress me waiting for the new one! He is Master!
Yes he's awesome
Plural does not need an apostrophe...videos.
A beautiful job! There is no denying that.
There is one teeny weeny point that springs to mind though...
I have lost count of the times when I have thought to myself: "Dammit! I haven't got a bolt big enough! This job will have to wait until I can get to the hardware store..."
I am searching my memory but I don't think I have ever thought to myself: "If only I had a tiny machete..."
Lol 😆
If you were in prison and trying to escape you might need one
@@joanschwanz7970 Maybe if I should ever find myself contemplating the tools I'd need to tunnel out of prison, a hand forged 3-inch machete wouldn't be at the top of my list. Obviously, if you happen to HAVE it, you use what you got. But, if you're is a situation in which you're thinking "I know what would be really useful right now... a 3-inch machete. It would scratch this mortar between these blocks so much more aggressively than this wooden toothpick!", you're chancesof success are not good.
@@rontocknell3592 lol 😂
You have to admit though…it’s a damn nice letter opener.
let's just respect the fact that he did this just for us

he must be old because his got hardly any hair
@@Lemzipnorth he is not! Look at his young hands and arms. 😄
FILTHY he can’t be that old. Look at his hands. Either he chooses to shave his head/ has premature baldness or he has a hell of a hand cream.
Very good work! Now turn it into a bolt again! (why? just because ... you can)
Now this is one of the funniest comments I have ever read on youtube!! - Genuinely in pain - thanks :-) !!!
ROFL!
Step 1: start the video at the end. Step 2: rewind the video. Done!

OR CAN HE
Nice job but wow that was an awful lot of wasted brass. But again great finished product.
Thank you dan! Compared to the finished handle, yes. But it were still quiet small pieces. I found that piece in my shop, i took it home from a junkyard years ago. As this was my first time doing something like this, i wanted to make sure that i have enough, you can always grind off more, but to add more would be difficult. Thanks for your comment
Are you in the U.K?
@@danhewitt1984 i'm from switzerland
@@mymechanics shame I would love to buy this I would solder a ring you the handle end and make a pendant the more I look at it the more I love it. I would Love it if you could make some sort of scythe as in the Grim reapers type.
@@danhewitt1984 i'm using it to open my letters 😎 it would be a dangerous pendant, imagine you put it on your keys and then in your pocket 😱 but if i need the money at some point, i will remember that...
Long time metal finisher here. Tip; When your buffing/polishing wheels get "dished" out like that in the center, you need to put the outside surfaces of both together in the center which will make your buff high in the center & then you can rake it back to flat using a hacksaw blade.
this guy is on another level completely .almost on another planet .
Not only I'm mesmerized by the whole craft process, but also the final look is astonishing. Wasn't expecting it to look so beautiful!
This little machete would be ideal for a 12 inch tall gladiator. Atlast we are running short on mini gladiators now days.
Use it as a letter opener = )
You mean "alas" not "atlast" (at last). Just an FYI. No criticism.
@@candice_ecidnac at last, someone who corrects grammar politely and constructively
That reminds my of a Karen Black short: "Zuni Doll". Scary AF!
Well actually Gladiators used Wooden shields outlined with steel and sometimes a sharp tip and a linked double edged sword. Not a machete. what, is Jason a Greek Warrior now?
Good looking machete. I used to work with metals all day long, when I was home I enjoyed working mostly with wood, but I still tried to obtain close tolerances on wood which is not practical on general purpose woodwork.

What a great video! When I saw the thumbnail picture of this machete, I was expecting that you'd be using all of this precision milling equipment that the average person doesn't have. After seeing your video, I could actually see myself doing the same project with the basic tools I own. Very cool! Thanks again!

Amazing finished product! I bet that took alot of time polishing. Gorgeous finish.
Thank you Justin! Forging the bolt an grinding the blade took actually the longest time. Polishing is done in a few minutes, but it's for sure the sweetest part of this project ;-)
Lovely job, I made my first knife from an old mower blade. What most viewers will never realise is the absolute mess from all the metal filings, the hours of work and the burnt fingers from holding a knife on the sanding belt! Have a go everyone, you'll be even more appreciative of this work.
