I’ve been obsessed with the OST and the OP/ED for years. The OST is master class; a perfectly curated catalog of tunes that perfectly encapsulate the emotions of each scene and elevate the experience. The OST contributes heavily to the deep emotional, thought-provoking impact this series had on me and why I will continue to hold it on the highest pedestal of any media I’ve consumed over the years. No show, whether anime, movies, tv shows, or etc have had such a transcendant effect on my emotions before. No matter how many times I rewatch it, I still get chill bumps, I still cry, and I still get lost in this beautiful OST. The creator has exceptional talent. The OP is fantastic. My favorite part of the OP is the electronic synth sounds that are so powerful and loud during the refrain. It’s very reminiscent of other space odyssey media ( I.e Interstellar) and the vocalist has an amazing voice. I’m glad they did not switch to a different OP on cour 2. The EDs, all 6 of them, are each spectacular for different unique reasons. ED1 always fills me with nostalgia of my first watch through when the plot was simple and new and they were fighting a new creature every week, not aware of the imminent plot changes that were to soon occur. It’s like looking back at old childhood photos, remembering when you didn’t have a care in the world. The triumphant melody makes you share the moment of victory with the characters. ED 2 I could talk for an hour about just the first 20 seconds, that absolutely GORGEOUS reverb vocal intro; It’s the highlight of this ED. The melody kicks in without hesitation and then the trumpets crescendo into the first verse. The rest of the ED is good, but those first 20 seconds played behind the scene of Hiro and Ichigo sharing a moment under the stars on the beach was the perfect way to end the best episode of cour 1. ED 3 as you said in the video, is a perfect neutral JPOP melody. Of the EDs it’s probably the weakest or at least the one I have the least attachment to, but not due to it having any flaws, simply because the other 5 EDs are all masterpieces ED4 you also perfectly captured my thoughts about this one. Coming out of EP13 it was an emotional tribute from Zero Two and was able to build on the emotions projected in the episode as it comes to a conclusion. A perfect love letter ❤ ED5 Coincidentally is also my personal favorite of the EDs for much of the same reasons, the orchestration and composition is a lot simpler than some of the other EDs , but the emotion in the voices of all the VAs is powerful. The mood of this ending gives you the feeling that they are soon to face perilous odds and perfectly fits with the looming plot climax the show is rapidly progressing to. It fills you with the bittersweet feeling that the end of the series is looming ahead ED 6 I absolutely love the rapid driving guitars that thrust you into the upbeat fast chorus. This song truly does encapsulate the feeling that the journey the characters have gone on has been an incredible challenge and journey, and they came out despite the odds together. It is a perfect final ED.
What a nice essay, I couldn't agree more. Although it has been a long time since I watched the actual show, these amazing pieces of music since accompany me on a daily basis. Also, I cannot overstate how impressed I am by your talent as narrator, especially considering the far to few views this video has received. Keep up your work.
Big thanks for a great video - definitely deserves more views! Just like DITF deserves more credit for all the things it did right. That goofy ending was such a downer, but I still had a blast watching the show.
Everyone who loved the show should see this. It feels like someone used the thoughts i had and made a video out of it. I think the Soundtrack is probably the most important part for the tone of the show and the emotional connection towards the viewer. Great Work!
It's been years since I watched this, I watched every episode as it released. But I still think this anime is amazing, and the soundtrack is just as good. Victoria and Hitori are both bangers!
That's unfortunate it got taken off of RUclips, must have been recent because I was listening to that video a week ago or so. It looks like there's no video that has the full OST, next best I found was SoundCloud which has every song in order here: soundcloud.com/mecha_strelizia/sets/darling-in-the-franxx-complete_ost
just a quick update: soundcloud did not allow me to download the songs so i tried to find another solution. luckily the person i contacted on reddit, u/Mighty-I responded and gave me a link to a post that has all the ost in high quality 4267 kbps bitrate flac. www.reddit.com/r/riprequests/comments/ioh061/share_darling_in_the_franxx_original_soundtrack/ decrypt the base64 and you'll get the g drive link
Ah~ this emotional rollercoaster (DITF), the music fits perfectly, I don't know Japanese (yet). The ending was kind of odd, regardless it was an enjoyable anime, accompanied with emotional music to fit the atmosphere. Nice video by the way 👌
Didn't even notice the lyrics to Vanquish. Oh my God, it basically spells out the whole show. Amazing stuff.
This show and soundtrack truly are a masterpiece

Completely agree.
Great video..
One of the most emotional soundtrack that would always remind me of DITF's legacy for me would be "Hiro and Zero Two"..
Tbh if I had someone like him I would be VERY interested in what he is saying and I love new facts and btw who would not be interested?
We need a season 2
it is :)
the full ost video in the description got copyright striked. do you know any other video or playlist?
