    What a great episode. I'm fortunate to have smoked a lot of fine and rare cigars but this interview puts that well into perspective. There is another world of such things i haven't even scratched.

    This man is a walking encyclopedia and international treasure. I’m still a novice cigar smoker, but after watching this episode for the 3rd time in a row I now only want to smoke pre embargo rare to find cigars. Although my current budget says I’m only able to smoke black and milds at the moment. 😂

      🤣🤣 that black and mild comment got me. I feel ya man. This guy spends more on cigars than most of us will make in a lifetime. I'm planning a vacation around a European cigar auction so i can get my hands on one of those pre-embargos. Might be a couple years out, though.

    As always you keep bringing more and more quality content and this was something special. Unique insight in the rarefied air some people get to live their lives in and I loved every minute of it. These old school guys are the best, their demeanor, their relaxed attitude about life, you can literally see the experience and wealth of knowledge with every new story they get to tell to our delight. Thank you for the effort you put in with each and every video and I appreciate as always what I know is not an easy work. I wish you all the best and keep doing what you do because you are a breath of fresh air for the cigar community with all the bullshit around censoring cigars videos and such.

      Cubans used to be as good as they said. I am not sure how todays stack up, but I have heard you need to hold them for at least 2 years before smoking.

    Interesting stories, but Pre-embargo cigars are like smoking air.
    The 1st growth Bordeaux, however, is another story. And the Gran Cru, hell, yes.

    These interviews are so good, to listen to a collectors opinions and thought's, rather then the producers of them. Would love to see him with his friend that got him started in an invteriew, as im guessing he carried on the collecting aswell

      It's only cheap if you don't enjoy it. I've had $150 cigars and $7,000 whiskey, both were massive let downs.

    Excellent video and great insights! I'm actually glad to come across this video! Subscribed ! Frank is proper character. Does he have any social media accounts where we can follow his debaucheries? I've been into cigars for the past 3 years and been places and countries for the smoking experiences. Just a tip to anyone going out to purchase a humidor. Always go for the biggest humidor you can afford even if you think that you will only keep a dozen or so cigars. Because soon you'll have to get a bigger humidor for your growing collection ; )

    I’m fortunate to own both a complete box of the Dunhill Havana Club and the Cohiba 55 Aniversario. The prices are definitely high but worth it if you have a true passion. It was interesting hearing this gentleman’s perspective so thank you for posting this. 12:13

    In Jax, they made King Edward cigars that were green they were so fresh. I bought 2 for $.08. I carried Guard Mail and I gave 1 to the bus driver. Good old days.

    I have over 7,000 New World cigars in my collection. It not a hard thing to do to get them to 5 years aged.

    I understand this guy clearly had the means to gamble on such vintage smokes, but I’d be pretty pissed if I spent the money such coveted cigars only find out there is nothing left flavor wise

      I'm sure there are duds out there, but this guy had the incredible luck to have tried them way before he could afford any himself. Almost no one will ever get the chance to try 100 year old cigars before getting into the hobby of vintage cigars.

    I'll cash out my IRA and buy pre-embargo Cubans ! Hell of a better return.
    Noticed that your DE Coffin humidor is as full as mine. And does a great job. What percentage of Bovida packs are you using in it ?

      Good eye man! I use 70% in mine, that wood sucks up a lot of humidity, even after 2 months of seasoning with the 84% packs. What are you using?

      Where do you live? I just learned places like Connecticut have an RH between 60 and 70%. They find even need humidors, ha ha.

      @@RepublicofDebauchery Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. With the temps hitting 100+ and heat index between 110-115. Today's the RH is only 42% outside. With no rain for the next 7 days. Ouch !! LOL...

      His name is Chen Zhi. Or at least that's what one of the other commenters on this video has said. I cannot confirm nor deny at this moment.

    cuban cigar do cost a ton of money in China, and most of the new ones don't smoke as good as the new world cigars, but they do have a collective value, just keep going up.

      Canada is a good bet. They have cigar auctions in Europe where you can get 10-20 year old Cubans, which are superior to the ones made today. If you do get a new batch, i would hold onto that cigar for a year or two before smoking.

    I live in Korea and the prices are insane. Total BS. The shop I go to sells all the Cohiba’s to the Chinese diplomats here for crazy amounts. Ruining the industry and experience. So sad😢
