The Sun and whatever object in front of the sun gave you all a dope slash of light on the right wall.
Right!!! The sun is the best light. I would like to say I planned it that way...lol but definitely was luck.
Thanks for watching!
@@JoelGabrielsen You’re welcome
50 1.2 has been the secret weapon.
I agree! It's been a game changer for me! Thanks for watching.
You have to cut yourself some slack, these shots look amazing and you set all this up under 20mins! This is great and i know you'll always feel the need to improve but know you're doing a great freakin job!!!
I appreciate this so much DD! I definitely am my own worst critic. Thanks so much for watching and showing some support!
Great content!!! Can't wait for the next.
Thanks so much for watching Bruno!!!
Great work Joel!
Thanks so much Mike!
Cool content. What's your workflow for dealing with the Zoom F6? Do you use the internal mics on the Sony cams then sync with 32bit float audio in post?
Yes! That's what I did to sync in this video. Scratch audio and syncing in post. I have recently upgraded my setup to run timecode to cameras and audio.
Thanks so much for watching!!!
Way to make it work! That’s a lot of items to set up. Did you have support? Sound op/ac?
Thanks Peter! The production company that hired me for this job sent a Producer and PA to help for the day.
Thanks for watching man!
Great vid again. Don't sweat the c-stand thing, we've all been there! Which GVM slider is that, btw?
Absolutely!! It's always easy to forget. This is the slider i'm using - amzn.to/3SCd4LN
Out of the box it's a little shaky. I had to modify it a little to get it smooth. Im gonna do a full video on it soon.
@@JoelGabrielsen Cheers! Looking forward to it
Looking great man.
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Interviews look great!
Thanks so much!!! Also thanks for the recommendation on the 50 1.2 GM. Great lens!
info on the slider? is that the nissan nv200? Is it enough room in there for a 1ton grip truck?
Thanks so much for watching!! This is the slider i'm using - amzn.to/3SCd4LN
Out of the box it's a little shaky. I had to modify it a little to get it smooth. Im gonna do a full video on it soon.
Yes!! It's a Nissan NV200. You can fit 1Ton package. It's tight but I'm able to make it work. I much prefer traveling with a smaller cargo van. I have a full breakdown video here - ruclips.net/video/18-2oE_HojA/видео.html
I love the sony I gave my wife my a6300 but I may get a fx3 Im loving the 50mm g master that you have
Absolutely! Sony has some really great options right now. I would recommend the FX3 and 50Gaster for sure. It's been a great combo so far. Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate it!
@@JoelGabrielsen you inspire me to keep going just finding it hard to get clients I've been trying even to offer for free just to build up but been slow any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have BMPC 6k G2 rode wireless lav, Godox sl60 ,ATem Extremiso Cineview HE wireless transmitter with app running on ipad for wireless monitoring and a rodecaster pro with podmics
and yamaha analog mixer
great man! What usb C cable do you have?mcdodo? you have a link?
Thanks Peter! Love your stuff bro!
This is the cable I'm using in the video - amzn.to/3EN2RXm
The only downside is the FX3 internal battery still drains a slowly overtime.
I've heard good things about this Kondor Blue cable and will probably switch over to this soon.

Thanks for watching!
@@JoelGabrielsen Appreciate it bro!
Do you include the van in your production budget? It's such a value to have access to..
Absolutely! I would love to have one general price for all production but I'm working with such a variety of clients. It depends. Sometimes on smaller productions I will just throw it in to make my life a little easier but most cases I'm charging a day rate for a one ton package. One thing I do that is different than a lot of G&E houses. I include my lighting package. 2xF22C 2x600ds. If it goes beyond that I will charge additional.
Thanks for watching Tim!
How do you color your fx3 footage? looks awesome!
Dude!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I try to keep it pretty simple. A lot of the footage I shoot I don't end up editing. I try to make it pretty easy for someone else.
I mostly work with LUTS. Alister Chapman has a great correction LUT for SLOG3 that I have been using for years.
www.xdcam-user.com/2018/08/new-venice-look-luts-version-3-includes-minus-green-luts-for-fs5-fs7-f55-a7s-a7r/alister-v-look-v3-s-log3/
I add this LUT onto the FX3. That's what I use to dial in the look on set. Sometimes depending on the client and turnaround time I will bake in the look.
Could you show your P60c Case? I'm interested in putting my 3 lit kit in something harder
Absolutely! I go over it a little in this video - ruclips.net/video/KG6tsJgZZSA/видео.html
Thanks for watching!
awesome video
Thanks for watching!
I like this, in my country there is no sharing. about leaving the set
Yeah absolutely! It is tough. Im trying to build up a good network here locally. The goal it to share jobs and hire each other as crew members for bigger shoots. Thanks for watching!
Hii:) bro love the video! Could you list the hanging mounts for the stands in the innovativ ? Thank you
Absolutely!!! They are Inovativ Stand Hanger - www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1451688-REG/inovativ_500_148_stand_hangar_for_apollo.html
Also the C-stand mounts - www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1112912-REG/inovativ_500_726_c_stand_storage_clamp.html
Thanks so much for watching!!!
Looks fantastic
Thanks so much!!!
That 50 GM though 😍 Also am curious what slider are you using?
Thanks so much Stephen!!! This is the slider i'm using - amzn.to/3SCd4LN
Out of the box it's a little shaky. I had to modify it a little to get it smooth. Im gonna do a full video on it soon.
What percentage did you have your 600d set to in order to get a good exposure against the window? I've had clients that want so shoot in front of windows but the amount of keylight needed to compensate for it usually ends up blinding the subject. Sometimes I put ND film on the windows but it's a bit time consuming to do.
Thanks for watching!!!
I was around 50% I did have ND on my cameras to balance out exposure and drop the background outside. The Aputure 600d is pretty bright.
Im with you on the windows ND film is a pain to do! If I was only shooting a single camera sometimes I will setup a 8X8 double net and put it behind the talent. You have to have the space to do this though.
Enjoy your vlog style videos! What focal lengths do you normally use for the a and b cams?
Thanks so much!!! For this shoot I had camera A @50MM and Camera B @85MM. If I had more space I would have preferred Camera B closer to 100MM
@@JoelGabrielsen nice! Thanks for the reply. I have an 85 already. I was trying to decide on another prime for the a cam angle. I was stuck between the 50 and the 35. Now I’m going with the 50 lol. I love how yours turned out. Thanks again!
But what if the weather conditions change? Imagine having bright sunlight changing with cloudy difused light during a scene. Would destroy the whole scene right?
This is a great point! I always try and light the scene as much as possible so if the weather changes outside at least the room will have consistent exposure. I was lucky that the weather stayed pretty consistent outside. Not always the case.
Thanks so much for watching!
Curious,
Do clients care that you are using a fx3 compared to a bigger body like the fs5?
Good question!!! Typically I rig out my FX3 so it's not much of an issue. In the past when I have used just the camera body on shoots I definitely got a lot of questioning on why I'm using a small "photo" camera. Some clients care and some don't. Either way I bring a directors monitor so they can see the image big and focus more on that.
Thanks for watching!!
Which LUTS are you using? phantom luts?
Thanks for watching! Im using the Alister Chapman Luts. They are great for the FX3 - www.xdcam-user.com/category/scene-files-and-luts/luts/
Hey there, I’m a fellow videographer! Curious to know how much would you have charged the client for this?
Awesome! This was a half day thing so I'm assuming I would have charged $850 for the day.
