I’ve got all the items in my bag apart from my gloves in a ziplock bag. I’ll be doing that this year for sure. My market is a purple pinehurst marker and I put a purple dot and line on my ball because my daughters name Violet. Every time I look down at the line while putting it reminds me that even if I miss this putt I still have a cutie waiting on me when I get home.

Thanks James. Just went through my bag refreshing those things to start the new season. As a few others below have mentioned, aspirin, Advil, bandaids, chapstick, suntan lotion, etc. I tend to carry most of this in a separate diddy bag since I may change bags if just going to range and putting green for a few hours versus paying 18 holes versus playing in a 2 day tournament. Also, I keep a separate small duffle bag with winter and wet weather golf gloves, toboggan, hand warmers, etc. My season is from 35 degrees to 100 degrees. Keep up the good work! And don't forget the USGA (or R&A) rule book.

Can I urge all Golfers to take their mobile phones onto the Course and a packet of Aspirins, in case of a medical emergency. You might just save someones life!

    • @banditbaker1675
      @banditbaker1675 5 лет назад +4

BestEco That is why I am encouraging Golfers to carry Aspirins.
I'm not sure that many golfers would either have room for a defibrillator in their golf bags or would have the training to use one. Also a defibrillator is only used to correct cardiac dysrhythmias, for most cases of myocardial infarction (Heart Attacks) an emergency dose of Aspirins will be beneficial (and possibly life saving) until Paramedics arrive.

I'd also suggest a warmup club, like an Orange Whip, to loosen up before playing. I'm in sunny Florida and the critical thing here is to not get heat stroke in the summer, so water and Gatorade (or equivalent) are essential to stay hydrated. Also, SPF 70 sunblock, a wet towel to put around your neck to stay cool and, just in case nature calls where there is no rest area, some toilet paper and a packet of wet wipes to clean up and make sure your grips aren't contaminated; I know this from experience. And, in hot weather, carry 2 bananas as a snack to replenish your potassium and also some magnesium tablets or gummies to prevent cramping which can be agonizing. I suppose that what you carry is somewhat dependent on where you live, and these are essential for summertime in Florida.

I always have band-aids (plasters as you poms say) and elastoplast tape (sports tape) in the bag with a set of scissors as well, now in ten 18 years of carrying them (not the same one, I change them when I clean the bag out)and the amount of people that laugh at it. Now I have never used any...not once! Golf Towel…. (Wet & Dry preferably) an old damp flannel in a sandwich bag is great.
Groove cleaning tool. Even the the good old nail brush from wilko’s is great. Near enough everyone will have one next to the kitchen sink, or a cheap toothbrush.
How many of us forget a pencil or pen to fill in the score card.
How many of us forgot the water bottle to put in the bag. And making up your own isotonic drink for those summer days is really easy and far cheaper than the pre-made ones from the shops. I make my own from water, some orange juice, some honey some salt…. Away you go.
Snacks…. Some sort of breakfast energy bar, or your favourite chocolate bar, kept in the cool compartment of your bag. A banana.

A few things I keep in the bag are a couple extra spikes for my shoes in case I find I broke one...and the tool to replace them.
Also a small container of antacid tablets as I suffer from sour stomach on occasion and nothing ruins a round quicker than your stomach barking at you.
Otherwise I'm right there with you on everything else you said.

Not sure if this was said yet, but the sandwich bag is also good for electronics in case of rain! Not everyone has waterproof phones, cameras, etc.

James, James...............just where do YOU play Golf? Didn't you learn anything at Augusta, or Hilton Head. Maybe the UK doesn't need such things.......but lets tell you anyway. #1 Sun Screen......James? Really? #2 Bug Spray.........James.........are you immune? #3 Hand Wipes........maybe not a big choice, but I have them. Helps get rid of the hand oil. #4 Cash..............How the heck else are you going to pay for that ....hmmmm ...... refreshment on the course. We could go on a bit with this............but for now, you get the picture. Love your stuff. Would be a hoot to drag you around for 18. Have a good day.

Checked off all seven, but a quick tip. In he Summertime, keep that lip balm in a small plastic bag as well or you'll get melted wax over everything.
A small Swiss Army knife comes in handier that scissors.
    Extra spikes and wrench.
Spare cheap ball markers, someone always needs one.
And of course, Vodka. It mixes with anything.

I was at the Tradition- Sr Tournament (Scottsdale, Az) several years ago. I was watching some pros at the driving range. One of them asked if anyone had fingernail clippers. George Archer said, "You're a pro golfer and you don't have nail clippers in your bag? That's crazy!"

Should you carry an extra driver shaft in your bag. After Senden broke his in the Australian PGA Yesterday. This could be a good new topic for you about the rules on it
