It's crazy when I think about the fact Metallica were younger than you are now when they recorded this well over a decade before you guys were even born... and they're old men now but still kicking so much ass lol
It's them another cover from Diamond Head (as You said it in the video). They've putted it on the B-side of "Creeping Death" (along with "Blitzkrieg"), then on the re-released version of "Kill 'Em All" from like 1988 (again with "Blitzkrieg"), and then on the compilation album "Garage, Inc." (1998). And, the chorus is "Am I evil? Yes, I am. Am I evil? I am man, yes I am!!" (on the last chorus, there's a little change ["Am I evil? Yes, I fucking am! Am I evil? I am man!!"]). And, no, the guitar solo Kirk Hammett's playing is original all the way!!!!
Garage Days covers are the best. Need to do Last Caress/Green Hell Misfits covers. All of Garage Inc and Days/Revisited are good. Just them jamming out on their roots and paying some homage to them.
Other Diamond Head songs Metallica has covered: "Helpless" "The Prince" "It's Electric." Helpless is my favorite. Metallica was known for doing great covers by obscure bands. Their covers of "Breadfan" and "Crash Course in Brain Surgery" by the band Budgie are also great. You'd probably like their cover of Blitzkrieg's "Blitzkrieg" and Holocaust's "The Small Hours" as well. All the original versions are worth checking out as well.
When I was young and learning guitar no matter what I was playing eventually I would start playing crash course in brain surgery every session. I loved that simple groove
I remember when they first released this. Had to get on a waiting list to special order the Creeping Death B side album from a record shop; took about 6 months. Think that made this even more of a favorite of mine. Glad y'all liked it, great tune.
If you girls enjoyed this cover... Then it's time for Metallica - Mercyful fate, it's a medly cover of the band Mercyful Fate!!! Trust me... This one will blow ur minds...

Am I Evil and Blitzkrieg were added on the re release of Killem All in the mid 80s. I still have a copy of it on cassette tape. This was originally recorded with Cliff in 1984 for a B side Creeping Death single.
@@davidcraft8524 Thats why I wrote what I wrote. In 1990 they re released the Album but with a complety dif quality sound. This song dont belong to Kill em All
@Two Sisters React Yeah, Am I Evil? really is an awesome cover song from Metallica. Cool that you liked it, and by the way - the chorus goes ''Am I evil? Yes I am! Am I evil? I am man!'' So not ''I am bad'' but ''I am man''. There ya go
I think you guys could actually make a dance video about this song!!! Most people leave this concert with bloody noses after this song, you too are grooving, that's new and it's totally cool. Welcome to metal!
This one has always been one of my favorite songs, metallica always does a good job when they do a cover song.. if you get a chance check out breadfan live in seattle '89, its a budgie cover
Try something new and different like Overkill - Years of decay 🤘 Overkill did like I think over 15 or more albums and another new album coming in 2021😀 I can't wait!!!!
This was the first song I heard from Metallica. Probably my favorite after Creeping Death... I guess it'd be fair to say Creeping Death is my fave original Metallica song and Am I Evil is my fave of their covers.
Nice reaction This is the second song I heard Metallica play way back in the day when the album came out. Metallica fan ever since then. I see the two of you are gonna be life long fans as well. And ain't nothing evil about that.
if you're getting deeper into the OG Metallica catalogue.. Mercyful Fate medley and Ronnie Rising Medley would be a good musical metal journey for you both. Tribute to their beloved friends, Mercyful Fate, and affinity to Ronnie James Dio influence with Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell
It depends on the band ; sometimes they will do a direct cover, staying true to the orginal composition and solos, sometimes they'll change a lyrci or two, maybe the solos will be improvised (W.A.S.P. is pretty decent for this), etc. Type O Negative almost always "decomposes" a cover, stripping it down to the nuts & bolts, and does it in their own style, which is often why their covers are so amazing. I think Cinnamon Girl (Neil Young) is the only one where they stayed anywhere near the original version, but it still had TON's unique style on it.
Please you girls have to play LIVE METALLICA : Seattle Wa. 1989 Battery or Fade to Black or Master of Puppets Best live version of Metallica ever it will BLOW your MINDS!!!
Just a suggestion..When you react to the song, maybe it would be easier for you girls to have lyrics pull out as well.. Anyways, great reaction although I would recommend live version, even though they did shorter version.
The irony is Diamondhead finally returned the favor by doing a cover of Metallica's "No Remorse" off this album and it doesn't sound like a cover but a Diamondhead song.
You should react to the live version of this song but with the Big 4 (The Big Four of thrash metal: Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax) 😌😌😌👌🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

One of the best opening lyrics of all time! "My mother was a witch, she was burned alive."
Metallica has publicly said that Diamondhead was one of their biggest influences
And thin lizzy too
If Diamondhead sounded this good they would have done better!
