Sorry, I don't speak German but you made me laugh. I love this! You are totally the next person to make me laugh and enjoy this opera. I will be watching the opera Friday and I already got a sneak peak! Wow! What an honor.
Great job explaining the story - how fun to watch! I was so wrapped up in the music aspect that I never got the story for this singspiel. My favorite for 25 years.
Yeeeeeeesss! So so cool! And funny as always XD I love your drawings. And you drop the pen like no one. Badass. Thanks for the video! Vivement la prochaine !️ 😍
I love your videos! I never had music classes, so I learn from my 8 y-o. He learned in school about Mozart and I found your channel! Thanks for the content. You are great!
I'm going to be watching the Royal Opera House DVD of Mozart's The Magic Flute just recently arrived features the mind blowing performance of Diana Damrau's Queen of the Night aria, Woohoo 🙌.
Toujours aussi géniale ! C'est pour un projet pour ton école ? Est-ce que d'ailleurs t'as entendu parler de la mise en scène ultra moderne de Roméo Castelluci de la Zauberflöte ? Continue ! :)
I love your long story short videos, and the only reason my 7 and 8 year olds could enjoy Carmen at Arena di Verona this summer was your video as a preview for them. One suggestion I’d like to make is, could you please make a kids-friendly version where such terms as “sexual vibe”, or “rape” are either deleted or euphemized? Your video already is super kids-friendly in terms of how they are easy to understand, so there are absolutely no need for reshooting, but a bit of partial dubbing will likely do the trick. As you have noticed, this is not at all trying to criticize, but an attempt to enjoy your video even more with kids. Thanks!

watching in 2024 and thinking about how the Queen of the Night and her ladies are literally the reincarnation of jojo siwa😭 (in the Royal Opera version, i mean)
The Magic Flute is a nasty child custody battle between matriarchy and patriarchy in which patriarchy wins. Pamina is graciously allowed to be Princess Consort in a world dominated by men instead of growing up to become Queen of the Night herself. Hooray. 🙄
Great explanation! The Queen of the Night was meant to be the villain in 1791 terms, but in 2023 terms she's the actual victim. She was denied her right to power and to own the Circle of The Sun because she's a woman. The opera repeats the notion that women cannot decide on their own and will always need the guidance of a man. The Queen of Night wanted to destroy that idea and revoke Sarastro's authority (This is referred to as the 'superstition' in the opera). Eventually even her own daughter turns against her in favour of keeping the current social norm of inequality and oppression. Pamina is basically the Rose Bride from Shoujo Kakumei Utena!
"And here you have the most beautiful quartet of all time". I so agree ! My favourite part of the whole opera.

So exactly why is the magic flute magic?
It's explained in the third act of the opera. Pamina's father (the deceased king) made it from an oak that's a thousand years old.

Maybe part of Mozart's greatness is to actually come up with good music for such a terrible story? Just saying.... I love your videos. Best ever.
Ahr! so that what is it about.
...You look so cute singing...

Please be my best friend 😂
Excellent résumé mais pourquoi subitement en langue anglaise. Je te trouvais aussi drôle en français.

How narrow minded to analyze a story written centuries ago by modern standards.
You forget Monostatos.
She didn't but okay
