- Are you interested in purchasing a condo but worried about the condo fees? Don’t fret because you’re not alone. Debra Boens and her husband were looking forward to buying a new home, but are back on searching because of the fees.
Living in the woods like homeless people looking better and better by the day. Roasting a squirrel over an open fire, living off the land, showering when it rains. The dream is real.
There's no meat in squirrel, poodles will feed you well.
@@danasmith858 Been eating squirrels for over 60 years. Breaded and fried though, never tried to cook one over an open fire.
I own a condo and it’s absolutely insane what the HOA is doing with the fees. When I bought in 2018 it was 310. It is now 650. They are scamming. And don’t get me stared on the 1.2 million dollar assessment they had. And also the one they made everyone pay over 2k out of pocket for to “Upgrade” the pool in November last year. Someone needs to look into these villains. THE VENITIAN ON THE ORTEGA
Wow insane
HOA everywhere needs to be abolished! I’m in the process of buying a home and unfortunately all the ones I like have HOA. I think I may have to do a new build on my own land. I refuse to do HOA
That is why I would never buy a property that has fees or HOA attached to it.
@@Impozalla well due to life it was best for me at the time so thanks for your smart financial analysis
Do you ever attend the meetings and read all the financial reports?
Stop buying condos and I bet things will change. Duuuurrrr
How many of the owners complaining take an interest in board meetings and annual meetings? By law, any owner has access to the meetings. I’m attending the board meeting for the first time next Thursday. How can I criticize without the facts?
My HOA fee for my 1 bedroom condo was 219.00 when I bought in 2022 and now it’s 260. I was also hit with a special assessment of 3500.00 for roof repairs and replacement.
Remember Jesus is protecting you because God loves you❤!
Where are the aliens?!
I’m sick of earth
Buying a condo is a bad investment. That’s insane his fees jumped to $750?
Horrible investment to purchase a condo.....Don't waste your money.
When you buy into a condo, you are also buying part of the building and its finances. There's always the risk that fees may increase if they were kept too low in the past (very common) or costs increase. Just like you might have unexpected expenses for a car repair or new roof on a house, special assessments are always possibility, too. You should always research the financial history of any condo prior to purchase and ensure it has adequate financial reserves. Unfortunately, most people don't know to do this and realtors probably look the other way.
Realtors get their commission as a percentage of the total. Of course they don’t care.
Miami is the worst, I been looking for a place to invest, and HOAs fees are passing the thousand monthly. They are going after South Americans, to by because they think we don't know anything about HOAS, but fortunately I'm Colombian-American, lived in the U.S. and know what they are talking about. This is crazy, I understand they have to increase, but why the increasing is that high?. People are loosing their properties, so what's the point?.
These fees may be man made, state laws apply to condo’s within 3 miles of the coast. Read the state law.
Tents are where it's at,
Special Assessments is better as it allows new homeowners get loans but harms older fixed income owners who cant borrow. Either way, its the fault of the HOA for not increasing amounts to reserves to pay for biilding repairs and upkeep.
There should be laws in place at the state level, if not the county level. That prevent them from increasing the fees so much each year. Could you imagine your fees going up $100 a year basically in that man’s case. $300 over three years. Is that going to keep happening every year?
I mean, if building insurance goes up, then yes its fine
One way or another you have to raise enough money to fix stuff.
Total mismanagement of money!
Disband all HOAs!
Don't Buy Condo = High Fees
something need to be done with the HOA fee madness
Nebraska here we come.
I’m a condo owner in Honolulu. My maintenance fee went from $845 to $1120
Condo will always fine any small HOA fee to increase called special assessment. Regular HOA $300 and then Special assessment $250. That's just how it goes with condo.
If you are a real news organization then you actually investigate why the fees are going up and talk about those regulations but you're not
They did explain why they went up, the surfside incident
High condo fees & paper thin walls 🧱
Talk about a bargin! 💸
exactly. Its the PAPER THIN walls that make it insane. There should be a LAW against it.
I had a condo once in brand new development. I’ll never buy a home under HOA again.
HOA for a condo is crazy, it's like you own a home but still paying rent...
So how do you maintain common property?
I saw many condos within my budget for like 600 a month for 15 years, then I see the 2000 HOA. HOA fees are more than double or triple the condo prices 😢😢😢😢
I prefer HOA neighborhoods. I don't want to see dead front yards and cars rolled up on the lawn.
Never own or loan in HOA. NEVER EVER.
I wouldn't pay ah dime
Who in their friggin mind would ever buy a condo? Detached house or freehold is the only way to go. The worst part of these fees is they can only go in 1 direction, UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🤔🤔🤔
I am here with you.
$510 HOA is dirt cheap for a regular condo we pay $740 and next year with full reserves we looking at $960
That's why I bought a stand alone house instead of a condo in 2009. Hoa/condo fee is a no for me bc I know it increases every year & i have no use for extra amenities that you either never use or very rarely!
I'm in a condo in Sedona, Arizona. I've lived in this condo since 1978 when my HOA was $35 a month. Now, nearly 50 years later my HOA is $240 a month, that's not bad at all. Why are condo fees so much better in Arizona??
These people voted for this lol. Corporations #1. Let's go. Let's increase the rights of the rich.
Avoid hoa
You will own nothing and be happy. -Smdh
This is going to destroy the Florida housing market. Sellers will have to sell at a huge loss.
I think the condo market yes
Northerners will buy them.
On principle, I wouldn't buy a condo even if I could afford to pay for one in cash. Condo fees are a complete RIPOFF and always have been. It doesn't cost the building's owner anywhere near $378 per month per condo to cover maintenance costs, never mind $510. It's just an excuse to gouge people; moneygrubbers.
Condos aren’t good assets.
i see the lady in the green sweatshirt from Michigan, better head back home before you are totally flat broke, retirees from up north no longer heading to FL for senior years, gonna kill the condo's when no one will buy them
I live in a highrise condo downtown Chicago over looking the lake and the condo fees are beyond ridiculous, ppl are paying anywhere from $600 - $1000 in fees a month

I've been trying to unload my condo in Miami for the past 3 years. My condo fee and everything else monthly is over $2,500. That is a sticker shock and that is preventing people from wanting to purchase the condo even if the condo is discounted by $200k. 😢😢
Clearly if the home has been for sale for 3 years and has not sold it is probably an issue of it not being priced correctly in the market.
@@coffeecup3177 One of the driving factors for people not want to buy real estate in Florida is due to his disastrous home insurance market.

I see people purchasing single family homes that has CDD fees that is almost as much as their yearly property taxes. No way would I sign up for that.
Everybody fees now. Scam.
Never woulda happened under DJT.
This is a state level issue.
Not just a state level issue but also a national level issue that I believe never would have happened under DJT. The economy would not be where it is now leading up to this and creating this situation.

Here in texas?we a so called cam fee $150 extra a month it's fnk crazy?how there getting away with this
The condos anytime the roof goes bad or anything major around there. You have to put out the money. That's extra condo fees other paying for his management and the grounds and maintaining cleaning the restaurant there. Keeping up the pool and things like that. Anything major to the condos outside? They hit the condo. People with this extra fees to fix everything. It's a joke.
Nothing is ever free, so the money you pay on condos every month. That's just to maintain the pool the grounds and hired people to clean around there
it's 800 in Miami sometimes lower
Still too much
The riches are getting richer and the poors are getting poorer.
Wow. Insane
The HOA fee where I live is roughly around $850/month due to the fact that theirs a big community pool with water park and it’s a gated community equipped with armed security guards 24/7
Never buy a condo, maintenance fees are crazy stupid. Some in Hawaii is way over $1k a month just for fees.
Same with Chicago, over $1 k a month
Gauging and Florida are synonymous
That’s the draw back of buying a condo, the monthly fees keep going up, if can afford it a house is better option.
