    I love the fact that Alastor genuienly dislikes him, but has to take a more roundabout route to mess with him, because he knows he can't directly intimidate or threaten Lucifer. And I'm of the firm belief that the only reason Alastor isn't a pile of Sinner-goop before the first song is that Lucifer can see how much Charlie wants him around, and he's not ruining this reconnection by killing someone she likes having around

    Charlie wasn't first children of Lilith and Lucifer but they all born death.
    @ LadySygerrik
    Some stories of Lilith have her cursed with the inability to have children, with all of hers being either born dead or dying shortly after being born. It could be Charlie isn't their first child, just the first one to survive.
    @Valentino simp
    If we learned anything from Helluva Boss, it's that Viv love morbid backstories soooo
    @CrazyRani247
    I heard that Vivz even confirmed that Charlie was fathered by Lucifer, because of the abortion curse. I can only assume that this led to some tension between Lucifer and Lilith and I wonder if that was part of why they broke up. I too am HELLUVA SUS from Lilith. Even before the end of this episode.

    Great vid, as always! You were mentioning why Lucifer is ok with Charlie continuing the idea of redemption. Well, Lucifer NEVER wanted to be King of Hell. He was forced to be when him and Lilith were exiled. He has never seen the good side of humanity, just the sinners, which he more or less despises. The whole reason Hell even exists is because of him. He was just an angel who dreamed big and over stepped his boundaries just a bit. This is why the people of hell are not really fearful of him. He is a very uninvolved King. Lilith was much more involved, and is seen as the Mother of Demons, but she is no longer in the picture. Also why he allowed the exterminations, and specifically excluded hell-born citizens. I feel like he loves the idea of redemption, but just understands how unreasonable heaven is.

    I've seen a lot of reactors say the same thing about how they didn't expect him to act like this, but it makes sense! If you go back to the pilot, Lucifer was punished and cast down, but he isn't interested in being a ruler of the place. He doesn't like the sinners because they did awful things with the gift of free will he gave them, and he's really only the "ruler" because he's a seraphim, making him the most powerful being down there. The only people he cares about down there are Lilith and Charlie, and Lilith for some reason left somewhere seven years ago...
    I think the consensus for Alastor pushing his buttons this episode is because he could never actually take Lucifer in a fight, so he's sniping at his insecurities. I really don't think he has any kind of parental instincts in him at all.
    Oh and the joke with Mimzy acting like everyone's been waiting for her is that she's been around since way before the show, when Alastor was just Viv's edgy OC. Despite this she only showed up for a split second in the pilot and episode 5 is her first real debut. I think she's coming back to be more central in season 2 though!
    Anyway yeah this episode was so nice after the last one. Can't wait for you to see the rest :D

    • @AmazonDreaa
      @AmazonDreaa  4 месяца назад +2

      This is so true. We go into the show expecting to see the big bad Lucifer everyone knows about. But I absolutely love how Viv has us step into his shoes and see things from a different angle.
      And I also agree with Alastor pushing buttons only up to a certain point because he knows he cannot go any further and hope to win. I feel like at the end of that song, the only reason neither attempted obliterating the other is because of Charlie.

    Why is there no history between Lucifer and Alastor ?
    Well first, Lucifer doesn't give a shit basically, second, Alastor is WEAK compared to Lucifer
    If a fight had to happend it would be a no match
    That said, Alastor probably would have some plot armor or some shit to make him stand his ground, but still
    Anyways, Alastor is an overlord, Lucifer is the king of all Hell
    Hierarchy goes like this (correct me if i'm mistaken) :
    Hellhounds>Imps>Sinners>Regular hellborn demons (succubi etc etc) > Overlords >Demon Princes> Sins > Lucifer
    Technically Alastor is weaker than Stolas from Helluva Boss
    Also, Charlie is more powerful than Alastor

      But she's too kind, doesn't want to harm anyone nor kill, the only way I can see her completely unleash her power would be putting Vaggie in grave danger or something like that you know, something that would make her really snap completely
      Also a fun detail I don't see many people talking about is during episode 1, when Charlie reads the story of hell, it says that Lilith empowered Hell with her voice and her songs, I'm guessing that's why Charlie loves to sing, why Hazbin is a musical and why songs have such an impact on the characters and the story as a whole :)

    9:41 in short Alastor sees Lucifer as a threat, in regards to his crazily huge power difference between the two and absolutely whatever plans he has as they involve Charlie to some extent. What that extent is unknown. Alastor was also a tad upset that Lucifer came, as a huge strike to his pride hence Alastor’s interactions with Lucifer. The two most powerful characters in the show don’t like each other at all, the reason why Lucifer doesn’t like alastor is unclear but at least part of it is that Lucifer views sinners as “violent psychopaths” which honestly does apply to Alastor, but he hasn’t been violent until this episode, the other reason(s) is unclear. Those two really have some of the best moments in this episode in my opinion, even if those moments don’t involve both of them at the same time. Hell’s greatest dad is my favorite song for a reason. Also glad you noticed the tell! I tried my best to explain the meaning, most of the tells and their meaning is situation dependent

    Yeah whoever owns alastor’s soul has to be more powerful than him. With how much pride alastor has, he absolutely wouldn’t make a deal where his soul would be owned to someone less powerful than him, so whoever it is puts alastor’s power into a different light. Again it’s unknown who that is. I never see people bring up the fact that husk specifically stated the leash thing in regards to alastor, I do wonder why nobody points that out, seems like a pretty major thing to not point out. seriously I highly fucking doubt the fact that alastor is on a leash himself is a thing he wants getting out, so the fact that husk knows that is big.

Consider the consequences such a revelation would have if the other overlords(especially vox) found out that alastor(an overlord and a very powerful one) is owned by someone else. The fact that husk was ballsy enough but also smart enough to know to do when nobody was looking shows that it’s some very important information that is best kept secret.
