They are legal loopholes found by the bookies but what people are too foolish to work out is that before you even get a spin, these bastards have already taken over £100 of your money most of the time and when you do spin the table, you very rarely hit your number. The 'pre-gamble' is a massive con. I think around 20% edge. The problem is they've got to run a shop with an over the counter betting margin (hold) of 15-20%. They have to pay staff salaries a shop, rent, rates, taxes, machine rent other overheads pens, promotions etc. It is to be expected. Slots can be dire as well. I've played several times about £3-5 on the roulette game and just got blown to dust. Never again. They closed quite a number of shops. Like to see more go the same way.

I don’t like these Coral/Ladbrokes type machines at all, even the spin bar arrangement on the Betfred/Paddy Power machines is better than this. Must admit I tried Golden Odds once and never again, switched to original after on the rare occasion I use these. 0, 29 and 33 at 10/1…..come on. That’s terrible, I found myself getting wound up just watching - admittedly the 100/1 number 9 was a big help but it’s such a horrible game, very long waits between spins and getting mucked about with the odds so much. Not good at all : (
