@@alexpeak16 The power supply to the overhead wires around the Scottish border can't handle enough trains. Not all LNER trains are fully bi-mode so they have to run on electric and Lumo units are all electric so they have to run on the wires. TPE are fully bi-mode so they are asked to run on diesel north of Alnmouth. The same power supply limitations also stop LNER and Lumo from running 10 car trains to Edinburgh (LNER run one on a Sunday but that's it). Ridiculous situation I know but it will be upgraded eventually
What a majestic flowing train
Unthinkable a few decades ago
The filming is also superb
Not only is this station a beauty but well designed. Great weather too!!!
and this was filmed an hour after Reston in the pouring rain!
Cool video, mate!
Thanks!
Great video! 👍
Thank you! 👍
The Class 802s are bi-mode, yet they're refusing to take advantage of the overhead wires. Logic.
It's due to power supply limitations between Newcastle and Edinburgh
@@traindriverdan But the LNER lot are basically the same and they can do it no problem.
