I met my first boyfriend of three years through grindr, also have some really close friends resulting from the odd random meet. As you say it is what it is. I’ll never forget the time that this guy was obviously using pictures probably 20 years younger than he was but the main problem was when he turned up. For the one good hook up you find , which is rare, your giving the company the owns Grindr, Meetme, etc. the ability to collect all your personal information which they turn around and sell it to many agencies and people you’d be worried about. More than half profiles are fake, they collect where you live, your WiFi, name, pictures, when your online, police agencies work many profiles sit in the app always online trying to set up gay guys, etc.
GRINDR is a difficult application to find our prince charming for a life for two. I find you very charming I really like what you do with your videos and I follow you on Instagram too. a french fan
You seem mentally mature for your age - which is a good thing. Strangely reassuring for some reason, like you're an old friend - even though we don't know each other. One observation I would make about Grindr is that it does bring out the worst in some people. Many gay men are ashamed about being gay - and they take it out on other people they meet, especially the guys they meet for sex. So this guy might actually have wanted a relationship with you, but in order to do so he would have to reveal his real personality to you (and vice versa). But if he is ashamed of the real him, then it's less emotionally painful for him to reject you, and make it seem like it was your fault.

The way you presented your experiences & the effects they had on you as a young man changed my opinion. Although I´m much older than you with little experience on Grindr I can tell you that the predators are there, experienced & waiting to pounce on the vulnerable new arrivals with disgusting haste. I hope hearing your experiences & how they affected you will enlighten younger men like yourself to be wary of those who first approach you.
