      I think he would be treated differently from local black Brazilians because he does not have to carry the historical baggage. On the other hand I would guess that if a black Brazilian were to live in America they would not experience the same historical baggage of African Americans because they were not born there even though their experiences are the same which would diminish the fear factor from the Caucasians. What a world 🌍 we live in.

      This is not true we are not are raxist country try and never have segregtion like y’all and native South American and Portuguese married since the beginning off our country and later with the black people from Africa(even our most famous author is Machado and he is mix, with a brown skin)not even was the last place because we were not industrialized they could buy they freedom only could not go freely because was an investment, they were bought in Afrca was not simple like that.
      Many people who used to be slve who had many money used to buy and could buy and even some owner when they have much money sometimes they used to do the same.
      The problem was that since when the darwninst theory (created in an Anglo country that was first widespread in the USA) arrived here and unfortunately began to create a certain preoco, but even so we are really far from being a raxist society and in fact today for you everything is that.

    Years ago when I was in Rio, colorism was at an all time high, even if you were from the United States. The tour guides whose ancestors came from Italy and were basically admixtured, spoke unflatteringly about the dark complexioned folks who lived in the favaleas “shanty towns” of Rio. Of course, I was forced to straighten him out about accurately about the history of it all. 🤭 Most tourists don’t do their research and believe anything the tour guides tell them. Saõ Paulo is considered as the “white” capital of Brasil, while Salvador da Bahia “Bahia” is considered as the most Africanized state of Brasil and Rio is in the middle.

      This is not true! São Paulo is more mix race Portuguese with native South American even the one of the man who funou the city of Sp Tibirica was an Indian of the Tupi tribe who lived in the region of São Paulo and was a very large tribe but it is not considered the capital of the whitest people in Brazil because we have others that are much more. Bahia is the place with the most ngros and with the number of them who are also more mixed with Indians also because it was a place with many of them. Rio, I agree, but I think people here are more mixed than specifically black
      TIBIRIÇÁ, “King and founder of São Paulo” King of the Tupii indigenous people, he became the key piece of the foundation of São Paulo and the subsequent colonization of the São Paulo bandeirantes in the hinterlands of South America. Tibiriçá, which means “majoral” or “vigilant”, inhabited the São Paulo plateau at the time of the arrival of the Vincentians who founded what is today the city of São Paulo. At that time, there was a cacique in each village, however, what differentiated the guaianases from other Brazilian Indians is that, above the caciques, there was a “larger cacique” (similar to the Incas), in this case, it was Tibiriçá the cacique king. Tibiriçá became a Christian and was baptized by the Jesuit priests José de Anchieta and Leonardo Nunes, gaining the Christian name of “Martim Afonso”, in honor of the founder of São Vicente. He became an ally of the Europeans and a great friend of the Portuguese explorer João Ramalho (patriarch of the Bandeirantes) who married the oldest daughter of Tibiriçá, the Indian Bartira, who was a kind of princess (Princess Isabel was his Catholic name), because she was heir to the throne of Tibiriçá. His marriage to João Ramalho, represented the continuity of the “monarchy” of the people of Guaiana, and in this union we had the origin of the people of São Paulo, originated from the marital and family union between the people of Guaiana and the Europeans. In 1554, Tibiriçá joined Manuel da Nóbrega and José de Anchieta in the foundation of São Paulo, establishing its people in the area where the Monastery of São Bento is now installed, in the center of the capital.COR/ RAÇA NO BRASIL

      And tell them Almighty God sent his Son JesusChrist to deliver them from a slave mind, and a slave way of living. And to cast their cares on him, he care for us, 1 Peter 5:7.
      Most people see how others living in JesusChrist, and say, this is garbage; but they don't believe on JesusChrist as the scripture hath said: Jesus said, He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flo rivers of living water. I say sir, give me that water, since don't nobody else want to try it. So true is the Word of God through JesusChrist, and there is no other name under heaven where mankind can receive help from God, Almighty God. Only they do as the scriptures said, and not go to a building and worship some man and his God......
      I know a man, who wheres a black hood on his head, got all type of idolatry things in the back ground, and talks about JesusChrist: False is he, and a worker of iniquity.
      In my studies, they who had black hoods on worshipped satan, devil worshippers, type it in google, I lie not to you.
      Almighty God said in Exodus 20:4, Thou/you shalt not make to thee/you any graven image, or the likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or that is in the water underneath the earth.
      5, Thou/you shalt not bowdown thyself to then, nor serve them.... And Almighty God is telling us that's what we do when we make them, were bowing down to them, and serving them, he is Almighty God.

    As a black American I did notice that I got different and often better treatment. I had started to learn and speak some Portuguese and I was in a hotel lobby and security heard me speaking Port and moved in. They thought that I was a local cab driver trying to steal customers. After that I often spoke English to help establish me as an American in places of business.
    Another time I was in a nice bar restaurant with some black Brazilian friends. I was the only one offered credit, my friends had to pay when served a drink each time. The restaurant workers knew that I was American and assumed that I could and would pay my tab.
    In the end it comes down to money. If people down there think that you have money to spend you get more respect. Right or wrong they associate Americans with having lots of money to spend...

Difference between US Black Americans and them (Afro-Brazilian) is they were allowed to keep tradition and culture from Africa. Black Americans were stripped of everything and we started from scratch.

    I'm from South America. I am considered "morena". Why, because I am half black and half indigenous from Colombia. My mom is indigenous from one of our local tribes.
    I don't know if the women who called herself "morena" in the story of the gentlemen you interviewed is also a mixed person, but if she is, it is correct that she is "morena".
    I have always embraced my blackness and very proud of it. But the truth is my mother is indigenous and we were raised speaking both languages.
    In the USA, I just say I am black because AAs have fully owned the One drop rule and apply it to themselves more so than anyone else.
    In Latin America people would call a mixed person morena. Being "morena" does not in any way negate someones blackness.
    Also, "morena" across LATAM means different things. A "moreno" in Uruguay, Argentina or Central America is completely different than a "moreno" in Colombia or Brazil.
    I wish AA when they come to LATAM would leave all that racial baggage behind and just embrace your new life. Your obsession over race is exhausting. It's a struggle over here for your average person. People here are trying to put food on the table. Even the poorest American is significantly better off than being poor in LATAM where you will literally STARVE. We have zero safety nets (no food stamps, no affordable housing, no financial aid..nothing at all from the state). Our main concern is not whether we are black or how black we are. Maybe you have the privilege of obsessing over it but a lot of people down here are living day to day and in much vulnerable conditions. THAT becomes the biggest concern over what race we are. Leave your baggage back in the USA. You are most welcomed here. Relax and just embrace your new life and culture.

    He is a black American and has been leaving the Brazil for 32 years. I am a black Brazilian and have been leaving in the US for 25 years. It is science, a mixture of black and white is not black. Here in the US black Americans want make us to believe that the union of black and white is black. My kids for example are biracial (mulatos). Why should they deny their inheritance of their mother calling themselves black! It does not make sense.

    • @skatebordstephen
      @skatebordstephen 2 месяца назад +1

      I'm a black American who lives in Brazil going on 13 years and this doesn't make sense to me either. I view pardos/mulattoes as being an entirely separate group from blacks. You have to learn Black American history or just study American history to understand the difference in racial dynamics in the USA. It seems as though you haven't. African Americans have been more inclusive of mulatos as "black" because many of our "black" activist and were mulatos and white Americans were the ones who created the concept of mulatos being black (I'm not sure why you insist on blaming black Americans for this concept when it wasn't us who created this concept), to keep mulatos out of white, American society or to inherit their resources. Mulatos were sold as slaves as well and were subjected to segregation laws after slavery, so mulatos in the USA have historically been integrated into the Black American community, being as though they were denied access to "whiteness."

      Like I said, I have been living in the US for 32 years. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from here, so I studied black American history. As you should know, sometimes even two educated people have different interpretations of the same book. You are correct though, I should have said that some black Americans adopted the version spread around at that time that "if a person has a drop of black blood" then he or she is black. The intention was to denigrate the mixture race population. It is shocking that even today some people still believe in that.

    • @skatebordstephen
      @skatebordstephen 2 месяца назад

      @LuisClaudio-tg8qu Well, it certainly wasn't the intention of Black Americans to denigrate the mixed race population, actually African Americans have tried to embrace mulatos as "our people" which is something I'm now realizing was a mistake, considering the fact that even mulatos can subscribe to anti-black, racist viewpoints and even undermine black political goals, especially today. Brazil has definitely taught me that mulatos don't identify or view themselves as Black, which is fine because they're not black. The sooner black Americans understand we're on our own and no one else is black except for us or those of us with very visible, Bantu, African features or phenotype, the better off we will be. We waste time trying to include people in our group who want nothing to do with Black people.

    I travel internationally alot and this guy is trying to say that all of us Black skinned people are the same, I wish it was so but we are NOT!! Black Americans have been taught to look at everything as Black and White, but when you travel internationally you find out quickly that most Black skinned people in these countries DO NOT identify with any Black Americans!!! Look at a map of Africa from 1747 and earlier, it was called Negroland and at the bottom it shows the slave coast. The Tribe of Judah camped there and they were the people who were enslaved and brought to America on slave ships in chains, Deuteronomy 28,29,30. All of Africa was NOT enslaved and there were other Black skinned people already here in America when they arrived..so right there shows it was different groups of Black skinned people totally separate from each other. Also in the Zondervan Bible Dictionary it states that the Negroes (Black Americans whose ancestors arrived by slave ships),are NOT from the same family lineage as the other darker races including the Egyptian, Ethiopians, Libyan and most Africans!!!

      True. It's racism/satanism, everywhere; gotta Beware of false prophets, it's so many, for this purpose Almighty God sent JesusChrist, that these works might be put away in our lives, but many people like to go out to a building and worship another mans god.

      @@eddiethorne6461 I think none brother: but to be all the way out of the slave trade, Almighty God sent his Son JesusChrist to deliver us from the slave way of thinking, by telling us to repent, turn from that which had our ancestors in chains, not just physically, nut mentally and spiritually, repent because while the world got us focusing on that, the end of all flesh is before Almighty God, Genesis 6:12-13, so we have to make sure we repent, and perfect before a Holy God and JesusChrist, the King of all kings.

      I don’t think people are disputing that there are different ethnic groups in Africa. Negroland refered to an area of black nations, but so did the region named ‘Guinea’ below it. Guinea is believed to have derived from the name ‘dark skinned’ in Berber.
      My point is that the segmentation of African ethnic groups doesn’t mean that AAs did not come from those groups. AAs have relation to Gambians, Ghanaians, Nigerians, Cameroonians, etc.
