Its the bristles latching on to each other that helps keep it up, abit like Velcro, and smooth object like bamboo will instantly fall unless somehow breaking the laws of physics, in this case gravity
That's not the point. The draw wasn't very fast and you would definitely have time to react even not expecting it because of his calm (which I think was your argument). That being said this cut was obviously not supposed to show how to kill a person. It's simply about showing off a clean cut.
For people that don't know - Without the proper technique, the proper blade, and the proper amount of training, there is no way you would be able to cut this thing. If you managed to cut it at all, it'd be half cut, or shredded through blunt force. This video is a thing of beauty.
The way he draws the blade through effortlessly makes the strike look so fluid and easy you’d almost be forgiven for not realizing the force behind the strike.
@@fhcc3924 oh so you practice kendo like I have for the past 4 years? I’m not pretending to be an expert at all, but you absolutely use force with your gyakukesa (upward diagonal strikes)

I'm just impressed of how clean the cut was, so it not falling instantly shows that it went through without any issue, it both shows the sharpness of the blade and the masterful technique.

Si algo así, ya había visto a alguien intentarlo con un muñeco de gel balístico, pero la velocidad con la que un humano puede blandir una espada es insuficiente para evitar que se mueva de inmediato.
It's actually neither. With a great sword with a grat swordsman and the cleanest cut a denser material would still fall. It's a great target material choice to have the interleaved fibers keep standing after the cut
@@inspirednaija7204Blade matters more. Given infinite tries, the average person can do this with a sharp blade; while the expert will keep failing with a dull blade. Even easier to see in knifework in the kitchen. Proper technique goes hand in hand with proper tools. But part of being a swordsman, or any tool-using expert, is making sure your tools are in proper shape…
@yoyoibo not in this case. Tatami mats test a swordmans technique specifically. Sharpness is important but not at all the point of the demonstration, and also just a given. You can have sword with a razor edge molecule thin, but it won't go through wet tatami fibers without proper edge alignment. Vice a versa, you don't need the sharpest sword to cleanly cut tatami if you have good edge alignment. It helps, but again, not really the point.

This is where villains didn't know that they've been cut into two 😂😂😂 so smooth sensei

Same as the apple when King cut it
I am convinced the only reason that the straws moved is because the band was cut
One Bunch man reference.... I'm not alone 😂@@commanderglowsquid8969
The fact that it's still standing after being cut is a testament to how sharp that blade is. 👌🏻
And also his technique
Yeah, he cut with perfect edge alignment
Its the bristles latching on to each other that helps keep it up, abit like Velcro, and smooth object like bamboo will instantly fall unless somehow breaking the laws of physics, in this case gravity
Also how quick he is
Sharp skill will make the balde sharper than it was
So calm and focused, I wouldn’t even be able to react to his body language before I’m cleaved
Exactly! I’d still be trying to figure out what we’re getting up for before I realized I’m already bleeding out with a lost limb.
If I see dude reach towards than handle I'm making moves out of there. I might not make it, but it'll be close😂
That's not the point.
The draw wasn't very fast and you would definitely have time to react even not expecting it because of his calm (which I think was your argument).
That being said this cut was obviously not supposed to show how to kill a person. It's simply about showing off a clean cut.
@@eliasvonbrille If he can do this. He can do the latter if he's serious

Without the proper technique, the proper blade, and the proper amount of training, there is no way you would be able to cut this thing. If you managed to cut it at all, it'd be half cut, or shredded through blunt force.
This video is a thing of beauty.
Nah I'd win
Yeah no, I could do it though.

Either that or...he's just cut that white band that's holding the PRE-cut log together..or whatever

凄くかっこいいですね!
Beautiful, clean, perfect cut! Here is a tameshigiri expert who really knows what he is doing.
The way he draws the blade through effortlessly makes the strike look so fluid and easy you’d almost be forgiven for not realizing the force behind the strike.
There's hardly any force, that's the point of a katana
@@fhcc3924 Technique and the sword. That's it. I would imagine hundreds of thousands of draws.
@@fhcc3924 oh so you practice kendo like I have for the past 4 years? I’m not pretending to be an expert at all, but you absolutely use force with your gyakukesa (upward diagonal strikes)
It's a combination of using the perfect amount of force, keeping the motions relaxed and fluid, aligning the edge perfectly, and having a sharp sword. He definitely practiced this a lot.
@@zen-kami1288 this is iaido tho not kendo, one was made for self-defense, the other was made for sport
I'm just impressed of how clean the cut was, so it not falling instantly shows that it went through without any issue, it both shows the sharpness of the blade and the masterful technique.
But, it's also sticks, can easily interlock itself.
it's already cut. held together by the white string, which was what's really cut by the slash.
@mizhou7393 bro, apply Occam's razor here. He's good with the sword, not everything is a conspiracy
@@mizhou7393yeah they're strands but he cut them the opposite way to their length so he did cut them idk what your talking about

9/10. My expert anime swordsman skills have taught me that sheathing the blade would’ve caused a small explosion and for the mat to fall over.

That cut was straight up from anime bro 👍
I think the reason it didn't fall was because the brace was cut and allowed the straw to fan out and stick to the section below. Still, incredibly impressive.
Though it seems easy to cut one but it's really difficult to do so. In his case it didn't even move and that is more than amazing 😂
ruined the fun
Si algo así, ya había visto a alguien intentarlo con un muñeco de gel balístico, pero la velocidad con la que un humano puede blandir una espada es insuficiente para evitar que se mueva de inmediato.

When the cut is so clean that it looks like a cartoon, then you know it's a really great swordsman with an incredible sword 😎👌
It's actually neither. With a great sword with a grat swordsman and the cleanest cut a denser material would still fall.
It's a great target material choice to have the interleaved fibers keep standing after the cut

It's the technique that matters most
@@inspirednaija7204Blade matters more.
A true katana is very expensive and if you got one for less then 3 to 4 k then yours is a cheap imitation 😂
@@Friedrice12121 that isnt tatami, thats dry bound straw.

Bros katana is so sharp even the side of the blade can cut a tatami mat with the slightest touch💀
European swords are just as sharp as the Katana, this is a demonstration of cutting technique, the same thing can be done with an arming sword.
@@KHETTIUS I could be wrong, but seems like he is taking a piss, thinking he hit the mat with the side of the sword....
@@KHETTIUS then do it, post a video, cutting something with an arming sword without it falling to the ground, we'll see if your words have any merit to it.
@@DccAnhHow about you choose not to be so lazy and look into it yourself, the Katana being uniquely sharp is a myth and has been debunked many times over the years.
@@DccAnh Today in modern times, a katana is not uniquely sharp. But a katana does have an cutting advantage vs an arming sword because a curved blade makes it easier to cut with, also because the way a katana is held/wielded it can do drawing cuts which makes cutting more efficient.
