I was planning on having him sign the owner's manual of it after I got it, and the day I was planning to tell him about it was the day our auto tech teacher told us about his death the day before. I haven't gotten the Isuzu yet, but hopefully will before 2024.
When that song was written it was based on my 1977 HZ ute with a 253 V8; and a clunky 3 on the tree gearbox which I changed to an auto a noisy exhaust M y then wife was told back in 1973 eventually went after that year , I kept that ute till 1999 I did have a brother in law Colin but didnt put a hole in the roof sorry I pulled it down to rebuild a HQ panel van but when I moved up north I bought another HZ ute and still have it after 22 years so reliable But I don't think Lee remembers me from so long ago..

I could be wrong but I believe a Ute has the low folding aluminium sides and sits taller than a stock pickup. ... and a Cattle Dog or a Kelpie in the bed!
A pickup is generally an American car like the one pictured - very much larger than the traditional Aussie ute. A ute is generally defined as having a tray or bed but based off a passenger or family car, whereas American pickups are very much larger and more like trucks than cars. Hope that helps! :P

Could be wrong though about the American slang. Nature's strip is usually referring to the grass patch it there getting of your property that is between the footpath and gutter of the roadside.
