3:45 fucking brutal, surprised that they showed the heroes doing that in a kids’ show. Guess Rex was already sick and tired of the shit the Umbarans were pulling, or just couldn’t spare the manpower and time to keep prisoners.
Check out some of the stories the US Marines had to deal with while fighting the Imperial Japanese forces. If you had to deal with even half of that, the idea of taking prisoners seems hilariously quaint.
we see them keep prisoners when they take over the umbaran base, but thats probably just because they the base had free cells they could use, which is a pretty great depiction since it just shows thats your morality changes based on the situation youre in
Umbara is Vietnam war, only that the Umbara people are consider to be " the shadow people" because of the entire forest that surrounds the entire planet. Its like the Vietcons unit using tactics in the jungle. The Umbara have amazing technology base on the entire animal ecosystem in the planet, that clearly gives them a big advantage.
What's interesting is that according to official lore, Umbaran technology was considered advanced even by galactic standards. They had spent their time in the Republic secretly building new weapons and technology and was waiting for an excuse to use them. And the assassination of their Senator was the excuse they needed.
This battle demonstrated how incredibly trained and disciplined the clone army is... more specifically, the 501st and 212th... Since I watched these episodes, they became part of my favorites.
Yeah this is definitely meant to be a vietnam style conflict. Similar to vietnam, the Umbran troops relied on suprise attacks and ambushes to win because American had better firepower and combat discipline. Similar to this even if the Umbarans kept losing, (like in vietnam) they would demoralize the clones to the point a lot of the clones got really tilted as seen in this clip.
The trooper that tells the other guy to take his rocket launcher because he got wounded is how I feel in insurgency when I die and I have .5 seconds to yell into comms to take the launcher and blow up the objective
I love this episode, but man there'sa lot to nitpick from it. Like for example. Where are the heavy armor? The republic seems to only deploy infantry and recon vehicles. But no armor reinforcements. They would've been way more useful due to how much the umbarans rely on their vehicles to achieve devastating damage against the clones. And it's not like the terrain is too difficult for republic walkers, when the larger Umbaran spider tank can go through easily If it weren't for the arc troopers, with their more indepedent and out of the box thinking, the 501st would've failed.

I love how during the arc their is essentially two voice actors, Dave Fennoy as krell and Dee Bradley baker as everyone else 😂
Do we know who does the Umbara troop noises
@@gianttacogodit was probably one of the actors they use for background characters. My guess would be James Arnold Taylor
@@calmcfarlane or perhaps the sound designers for the clone wars, maybe Matthew wood.

They never had orders to take prisoners, not part of RoE

@@mrbigglezworth42 yeah, it was the same with our (Australian) troops.

What sets this battle apart is that they were fighting against organic beings. All of the clnaka busting gets desensitizing real quick
Impressive vehicles the umbarans have i gotta say
They were more advanced than the rest of the galaxy by at least a decade crazily enough.
The best the galaxy has to offer
I'm honestly getting some Covenant vibes from the Umbaran vehicles. Their Walker Super tanks remind me of a Scarab from Halo

The Umbarans and their weird technology is so alien and unsettling. Which is no small feat concidering it's Star Wars.

3:00 Badass Rex.
Idk why but that clone running with the launcher looks sick

Glory to the republic
This is what the “Wars” of Star Wars means.
I feel bad for clone medics during the siege they were shot first
The amount of war crimes 💀
they call this a kids show, how
Umbara is the starwars version of Stalingrad
No, that would be Mygeeto.
i am so surprised about a flying trooper on fire
That centipede tank wouldn't seem more powerful than an AT AT.
The scene reminds me of the movie "Antz" 😂😂
Rex is a legend.

There should be a game on Umbara
If this was from the real Vietnam war it would have been a us army platoon against 3 BTR60 armored vehicles.
