Thanks for this video! When I remove the air filter cover I can see that there's styrofoam behind the grate on the wall of the refrigerator. In both the LG official video and your video, it doesn't look like there's foam back there. Any idea what that might be about or if I need to try to figure out a way to get in there and remove that?

LG says to turn the water off, is that actually required?
That's because there is no sensor telling you that the filter's done, they just assume it's 6 months. Just like your printer. It doesn't 'read' the ink level. It counts pages printed and assumes its out of ink.

Yes, I am not happy with mine. It has this white powder falling out of the water system and settling on the dispenser shelf. LG won't give an explanation about this white powder. How do I know it isn't contaminating the drinking water?

Yes I think they were as good as the original LG filters.
I have a problem to install water filler GP-1000p I try a lot but it’s doesn’t working and a water leaking when I try have water out .I give up with LG 😞😞☹️
same things happening to me. Seems like problem is the filter has been made wrong by lg for whatever reason.
I also got a defective filter from lg, would not lock in..I will try the pureplus..btw, I returned the defective filter to amazon

2 replies to your comment say that LG says to turn off the water and empty the dispenser, but in the LG manual (linked in this comment) I don't see where it says to do that. It says that when removing the filter, about 1 oz of water may leak, which is normal. No need to turn off water.
Not all LGs require turning or rotating the filter. Your LG fridge may only require that the filter be pushed in. It took me a while to discover this because so many videos show LG models show filters being turned. See ruclips.net/video/HGDQAVr-OWA/видео.html

Thank you for this video. I was not able to get the "Fresh Air Filter" back on smoothly and broke one of the two pegs. The one peg is holding the face plate in place but i need to replace it. :(

Did you turn off the water source before you took off the old water filter? And did you drain out the residuals water afterwards before the new filter’s installation? Thanks
You don't need to turn the water off at the source. Just unscrew. And replace with new filter.
No you don't have to turn off the water just change it maybe just a tad of water drips but that's ok 🙃

How do you flush a filter with a fridge that doesn’t have water dispenser? Only ice maker..?..
Do they make a bypass filter for these? Because I installed a RO house filter and do not need to have a second filter.
I just paid $55 for 1 filter at Lowe’s. What a rip off!!

where did you find the model number? inside the fridge or behind? because my refrigerator is exactly the same as yours but I can't find the model number, the one I found is inside and it's different from the one you have. Thank you
The model number is from a sticker at eye level on the left side just inside the fridge. Mine says LMXS28626S
