  • Judy Garland sings one of the most loved holiday carols in history, written by Hugh Martin for 'Meet Me In St. Louis' in 1944. Judy sings this song on her first appearance of the popular talk show, 'The Merv Griffin Show' on December 19, 1968. The show was taped in colour, but is not known to exist. (aside from the audio)

Even as a huge Judy fan, I had never heard this before. It made me cry.

Just beautiful. She sang better with a somewhat frayed voice than any of today's songbirds can manage. God bless her, she was simply the best

I am a big Judy Garland and I've never heard Judy sang "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" on TV or anywhere else except in "Meet Me In St. Louis" or on records. This was a real treat. God bless this Dear Soul and Merve Griffin's soul too. May they rest in peace and be in a special place where beloved intertainers go.

She sang the best version I ever heard of this song. I like the older classics better. Thank you for upload.

Mort Lindsey, who worked for Judy when she was riding high, was the conductor and pianist here, and it must have broken his heart.

I saw this broadcast live. She was so young. I think 46. Decades younger than I am now. So sad.

Garland makes up for any perceived flaws with her phrasing and poignant delivery. If one truly listens.

This is like hearing Billie Holiday in the late '50s...lost her voice to years of hard living, but carries the song with emotion and phrasing.

She sounded so much older than her 47 years, the world's crumbling around her and all she had was her voice depression and her addiction, so sad, definitely might have been saved if around today, her complicated life definitely was too much for her to handle, especially in the era, rest in peace Judy❤

I love Judy Garland but I can’t listen to this. She’s at the end of her life she’s dying from her addiction. I feel so bad that she couldn’t recover from her disease. Treatment is a lot better now for addiction back then nobody knew what to do. I love you Judy.

“Its cranberry juice” yeah Merv and she has it loaded with Vodka. This was pretty bad but we love Judy.
