Hi, a kind of nerdy question: how did you determine the best position for the antenna systems? Did you use 3D simulation software like CST, FEKO or HFSS?

Great to hear about technology advancements, but Alex needs a solid boat that’s not going to crumble beneath him. Failing because the rudder was knocked about is simple technology, in comparison, to fix.

Yes, amazing level of tech. Every time I see photos of the inside of Hugo Boss I worry about the gloominess. I know you have great sponsors to consider but what do the experts say about the colour of the inside of the boat and it's effect on Alex?

Alex chose to have bare carbon rather than paint it white.

I guess you are going to test Starlink?

Wouldn't it be possible to use SpaceX Starlink instead of Iridium? A continuous video livestream would be next level.

Starlink has currently not enough satellites to provide continuous coverage worldwide.

@@therrealsteeevo Correct, but they aren't far away at this pace. Should have global coverage within 2021. Perhaps more of them will need laser crosslinks as well, but it'll be usable a long time before Vendée 2024. Coverage happens to be pretty good at the southern ocean due to the 53 degree inclination needed to provide best coverage in populated areas around the US and Europe.

It's about time that laptop manufactures stop putting potato camera into expensive laptops, don't you think, apart from that interesting video.
