I agree! I have a 36"x36" canvas art of the Steely Dan Aja Albulm Cover on my wall at home. I have seen Steely Dan in concert almost a dozen times. Thanks Walter Becker, and Donald Fagan for the great memories!
I saw them at the met in philly on 10/30/2021. Fantastic 👏 this was thier encore. It didn't matter though...because most of us were dancing through the whole concert!! If they come your way get tickets..my omg moment was "home at last" 💙🎶
Still miss Walter. It isn't the same without him. RIP Walter. My idole and my hero. Love you from the bottom of my heart. You are never ever forgotten.
I took my son (12 at the time) to see them. He will be 14 in May and plays half their catalog. He loves them because their a great band. He often watched the midnight special on RUclips, which is what he has named his modified strat knock-off. He also follows Brian May as well.
I love this band with just Harrington, they don’t need another guitar player, J H can handle it, it also seems the band is more relaxed and looser. RIP Walter! We do miss you!

This song has a miraculous studio version solo that pieces itself together all over the place. You may think you've found a common theme, but you won't. Is there a doctor in the house? Why do I feel like a quart of blood drains out of my brain when I watch the back up singer lady directly behind Donald do her thing?

@@tomforward990 I have so many concert videos to upload, not only of Steely Dan, but a dozen other bands and artists. Hopefully I will make the time soon.
The studio version is right around 135 BPM according to my metronome and Google. On the track they speed up and slow down around the metronome just a hair because they’re human. This one is right in between 136 and 137 BPM on average. Same concept. So either you’re part of the .1% of the population who can hear a genuine difference in 1 BPM or you don’t know what you’re talking about. I’d bet on the latter. Go back and listen to the studio version again. 🤷🏻♂️
@@brucenlittlepictures Thanks for the info. What i am refering to is not the music it is the manner in which Don Fagen is singing the song. He seems to be singing it at a different pace than the studio version. In any case, it is still GREAT!
@@ConcertTours I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for this, but it's simply because he can no longer sing it at the original pitch with the control he once had. The human voice is not like a Stradivarius, it rarely improves with age in later years. The backing singers are taking up the strain here, but it still works well enough for live.

Thank you, amateur filmer!!! The “pros” *never stay on the star guitarists!! I’ve finally seen the master start to finish
Ladies and gentlemen, who likes Steely Dan, cause we've got 1 of em.
Great to see how much fun the whole band had playing this song that night
Thanks for all the positive comments!
Absolutely fantastic lead guitar work pulling off both of those guys and your own embellishments that was fantastic

One of the best bands from my youth!
This deserves far more views than it has, very beautiful even after all these years!!!
Great sight that!
The backing band the backing singers really bringin it.
Fantastic
John Herrington kicking some serious ass. The whole band is incredible. What a great performance, thanks for sharing.
He is not retired NASA astronaut John Herrington, but he is the incredible John Herington on lead guitar solo.

Nice video and Song 👍👍👍👌
Good stuff (70’) still on the road. Merci.
Yeah, but the songs seem to be sung at a faster tempo...or is my imagination?
Killin... 🔥🔥🔥 Keith Carlock killing them drums.
I just saw them Sunday night, and Keith stole the show. Absolute monster drummer!
saw these guys 20 odd years back in dublin (ireland)wow!!!!
Definately one of my favorite bands!
Donald is a legend with those vocals
herington is on fire,,,and donald sounds great voice wise :)
Sebastien Mills On fire...great way to describe him
Jazz aficionado groove with your song reeling in the years ageing gracefully. Reminiscent of Dave Brubeck a little face reading.
I have tickets to see Steely Dan again in September. Subscribe / come back for the September 2019 show @ Pechanga Casino, Temecula, CA.
I would love to see the original line up play this one more time
I just say Robert Cray two nights ago...I will be uploading the videos by tomorrow.

Was wondering where Walter was. Hadn't realised he'd passed away.
The lead guitar solo is played by John Herington, not Harrington as you mis-typed it.

Your everlasting summer
You can see it fading fast
So you grab a piece of something
That you think is gonna last
But you wouldn't know a diamond
If you held it in your hand
The things you think are precious
I can't understand
Are you reelin' in the years
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
Are you reelin' in the years
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
You been tellin' me you're a genius
Since you were seventeen
In all the time I've known you
I still don't know what you mean
The weekend at the college
Didn't turn out like you planned
The things that pass for knowledge
I can't understand
Are you reelin' in the years
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
Are you reelin' in the years
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
I spend a lot of money
And I spent a lot of time
The trip we made in Hollywood
Is etched upon my mind
After all the things we've done and seen
You find another man
The things you think are useless
I can't understand
Are you reelin' in the years
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
Are you reelin' in the years
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
What a great sound
Thanks for the lyrics!
Thanks! Enjoy!

Get that guitar to the forefront!
Drummer is playing it wrong and slowing down the band
Although I grew up with Steely Dan and love them even today, I think there should be a limit to performing, especially when you can't sing any more.
