Half-empty, you made ''everything'' different but still didnt give more content. #1 complain i hear from those who left the game say is = im never sloted in wars so i quit, tired of waiting and not playing..... you want to make player return make 5-6 race happen each night, alt account exist because players dont get enough content on 1 server. just make that happend and every server would become way more active
The company with the highest influence??? or is it a lottery?? I like the lottery for companies with a smaller player base or a community that can't get in during those times to help with the race.
PVP reward track exp as is isn't rewarding. I hope these rewards you keep talking about are actually good/worth the time commitment especially since there are artifacts gated behind PVP track levels.
As someone who absolutely loved the early days open world PvP and spent most of my time with it, I wish the changes would've gone further than they did. - Faction missions are still a very major part of the pushes plus token farm and the vast majority of players doesn't like them. Due to their nature, some companies have gone as far as botting them in the past and that really tells you all you need to know about them. This is especially frustrating in the context of faction tokens being required for so many things now and faction missions seemingly being the most efficient way to farm them. - Likewise, the "towers" could be more in many ways. For example, among other things, towers could lock at specific point of the race or give double influence so that constant hotzones are created. I understand that open world PvP is a complex thing and it's not easy to recreate the initial hype, but I hope that improvements to influence race changes will be an ongoing project and v2 is just the start of that.
It was an after thought. Mission push sucked and this is less crap version of that. They didn’t actually put thought or want any new pvp content in game for expansion. Opr map would of took almost no resources to deliver for expansion. And….maybe they would run advertising for it then
why not use actual forts/castle landmarks as pvp hotspots? that way we'll have a reason to revisit beautiful old landmarks aswell. rotate between them.
My guess... performance. That might also explain why the structures for the "towers" are pretty simple. Also, not to interfere with PvE players doing quests in those areas.
mini forts is a bold statement... we need more than 3 piles of wood rewards where kinda trash on PTR aswell... Fort locks are super nice to have them back! but still.... Pls rework even more... this cant be final
Edit: Played it a few times on Live now and it actually is a lot more fun than it was on PTR. The problems are not as apparent when a lot of people are playing it and the condensed Open World PvP is great. Main problems with the v2: - rewards are not good - towers are too far from each other - no good way of seeing if you are winning or not - boring layout of towers Main advantages over v1: - good time windows and easy way to find flagged players for Open World PvP Generally this is only a slight upgrade to v1 and is still very bad.
@@OGParzoval you get more legos doing regular dungeons. are you referring to the counter when you press M and hover over the territory? that is not a good way of seeing if you are winning or losing. it needs something like the opr counter on top and also some scoreboard to see how you were doing. Also some big notifications when something is happening and also some indication how other towers are doing/ who is capping them atm. I don't think that open world PvP should require to work with your faction/ company ... just let ppl have fun and get in there. the towers look so incredibly uninspired if you compare them to other assets in the game.
So if they : - increase rewards (which is quick to do) - Add a progression bar in the interface (which is quick too) - Choose to pick some existent places instead of these crappy structures (which is medium but not dev breakin time) Then we could have a A+ open pvp system Please AGS listen to us
Idk why they don't just remove pvp quests entirely. We want to play tdm not walk around simulator. Make a kill = 1 point for ur faction and the first faction to 300pts wins (or most pts after 30 min (reduced from 45)). Your faction gets 1 more point per kill for each fort/outpost, they control. And each time your faction completes a capture on one it gives 15 points.
@@SirPackageRLI don’t know why they don’t just ask the community what they should be doing. Instead of coming up with their own stuff “hoping” we like it.
I am baffled by the fact that they are "happy" with the layout of towers. They are the most underwhelming part of the Expansion imo. So much potential for design and that's what they ended up with?
There are so many epic points of interest in the world. Is there a reason you can't use those as capture points? These glorified piles of sticks are just not it unfortunately. I'm really hoping you actually put some effort toward making this better going forward... open world pvp is where its at.
This doesn't go far enough. Please liaise with streamers like Danneh and Dukesloth for ideas. Also please introduce a reward cache (max 3 per day) for all those standing on point when fort captured. This should reward a significant amount of mythril ore, runewood, darkhide, spinfiber + gypsum orb and a piece of pvp gear. If you make the resources enough to cover daily refining needs, players will be encouraged to capture 3 forts daily as part of their end game loop, in addition to farming landscape.
No more time-gated dailies! Make it a max of 10 reward caches per week instead. This allows everyone to gain the rewards when they got time to play during the week, instea of losing out on rewards all the time.
I really love this game and especially the PvP combat. I have to say however, this dev team has put in what seems to be minimal effort toward the PvP side of the game. In two years time we have the same battleground that we’ve had since launch and 2 arena maps. This game gets a new expedition with every update (about every 3 months). Let’s get some more focus for the PvP side of the game and for the PvP players. New battleground mode and map. RANKED 3v3 arenas. New arena maps at at least half the rate of each expedition. We should be seeing new PvP content at least every 6 months.
it's going to be interesting to see how players respond to the changes. I know there were some companies that preferred the idea of fighting to hold off wars, using the strength of their numbers to overcome the talent of more focused companies, but I also know that many of the companies that were best at warring did just let the factions push so there would be more wars. I think those players would have preferred a more drop-in kind of warring system than the feel of an epic warring system, so I hope this new methodology brings a blend of the two together somewhat. Especially if in 'winning' the open world defense means having some kind of defensive advantage in the actual war, or vice versa for example.
> "War is a really fun gamemode" / "People weren't counter-pushing because they wanted the war content" Then why is it completely gatekept where only 1% of your playerbase can actually participate in them? And why haven't y'all done anything to fix this. Add cross world company v company custom wars, so every company can experience wars without getting gate camped for 30 minutes. This is why New World can't keep players around. Wars are inaccessible and nobody wants to get farmed over and over, so they quit. MAKE WARS ACCESSIBLE AND NEW WORLD WILL THRIVE! CUSTOM WARS will OPEN UP the war scene for EVERYBODY.
Make it 5 event per night, 7,8,9,10,11 PM. This will add so much more war content and we will get more company own territories. Just add more dec plz. People are begging for more wars !!!
To me from what I had seen on PTR some planks of wood also dont constitute for "towers" or "forts" and seem super open which mean ranged star wars battles will ensue and melee like OPR overall get short end of the stick.@@OGParzoval
@@OGParzoval every 'tower' location should be unique in look and design. Giving us essentially 3 new open world maps to fight in. per region. This would be crazy good for pvp and help alot in keeping it interesting long run. Having some points be actual forts / castles is not only amazingly beautiful to fight in but is also very much realistic to the set scene. So yes to towers being forts 100%
I don't think the dev team truly understands how much the pvp community detests the Faction jog lap missions. For active war companies that go to war since launch, we've been running in circles for a couple of years of our life. Think about that. Doing something you dislike for that long of a period of time for the delayed gratification of 30 minutes worth of sometimes fun War content. The ask of the conflict update from the community was for the dev team to eradicate these circle-jerk faction missions, not retain them and carry them over to a new system to where the faction laps are still required to efficiently push a territory to conflict for your company to secure a war declaration. Painful to hear that these faction lap missions are held onto so much by the dev team like a dog w/a bone, let them go already. Delete these things, we hate them (throw out your data metrics that show players run them often; its forced on us, we have no choice other than to farm it out to other players to run in our stead). There's no way around the faction laps on live, activity with them is bad data, the dev team gives players no choice. "Run these stupid missions or forget ever going to war." Companies literally swipe and payout other companies/players in the community to run the missions in their stead. The new conflict POI's have very little cover vs ranged dps. We're going to get spam shot by bows, muskets, fire staffs. Not great. Why do we keep catering to FPS rat gameplay? The most covered POI's have barely any cover, its ridiculous. You're going to force us all to run around in heavy armor with tower shields and hold RMB (riveting game play) or play like rats (ranged dps light armor, hop on mount and run away when chased). Could have just used the POI's for the Northern non-ownable zone Outposts like in Edengrove, Great Cleave etc. Just remove the stations/inn and use the pike fencing with entrances, and a circle in the middle w/ flag to capture. There are so many rad POI assets in the game already that should have been used for these conflict pushes. So many wrecked ships in coastal areas like Monarch's Bluff, Mourningdale, Restless Shores, Carbonic Castle, etc. Smaller forts like the corrupted use in Myrkgard. Why did we end up getting little catwalks like seen at the Yonas NPC in Windsward and call it a conflict POI? I have no problem re-using assets for the new Conflict POI's but at least use good ones the game already has. The old huge ship in First Light town would have been a great one to fight on. Let players shoot cannons off the bow while defending the POI....Please consult with pvp players in the development process to funnel in some ideas and feedback early on in the process to help create better content. Put them on non-disclosure agreements. Seems like pvp is just an after-thought for the dev team. If you don't know how to create the content the community would like, ask the community and actually consider their ideas. Ashes of Creation is doing this in their development process. They probably only use a miniscule fraction of the ideas, but at least they're getting directed feedback on a desired topic to think on internally before pushing a product out in the hopes that it will be received well.
Well if they're going to look at data only then there's only one way they will listen. Streamers need to send the message out to stop wars all together so the data looks bad. Force their hand or it will never change.
I have a potential issue that I'm not certain you've thought of when it comes to the new territory situation. If territory Upkeep is weekly and these influence pushes are on some kind of daily rotation, there's a possibility a company might game the system to own a territory and then lose it again before the upkeep is due. Now that the wars are driven by a metric you control (territory influence windows), you should also sync upkeep to go along with these windows and basically require upkeep to be paid before a war in order to solidify war defenses or something like that. Better yet... realistically now that the profit is shared across territories, just shave like 10% off the top of all the profit globally before it is divided up and do away with upkeep.
influence v3 please with improved assets? Please put some effort into building meaningful PVP interactions or the PVP community will start going other place and TBH you dont have much time left
Generally I just think PVP is handled without a lot of consideration as to what PVP players actually want to do in this game. The biggest example of this that comes to mind was when Arenas was released, but PVP players enjoyment was at an all time high at Great Cleave with the high flagged player density because the rewards were great. Following closely after this development and the underwhelming reception of arenas, rewards for open world PVP missions were reduced significantly, and this in turn decimated any incentive for people to run PVP missions. Instead of these underwhelming POI's that give horrible rewards, why not learn from the spike in open world PVP that happened at Great Cleave? PVP is usually the most enjoyable whenever rewards for doing those activities are high, because there's more casual players joining and increasing the scale of these PVP encounters. Buff the rewards for doing open world PVP. Despite the missions themselves being boring, the environment that was created because of the high rewards for those PVP missions was amazing. Additionally, you could make PVP way less monotonous by changing missions to be far more PVP focused, assuming that was the goal with these influence changes. (An example that immediately comes to mind is doing stuff like "kill x amount of players with one-handed weapons." We know due to the season system that it isn't impossible to code something like this.) _MOST IMPORTANTLY HOWEVER,_ I think anyone who plays PVP seriously generally feels unrewarded for the amount of time and resources it takes to engage with it, ESPECIALLY if they're a player that isn't a part of a territory-owning guild. I'd love to see the PVP Track system get a complete overhaul, and become something more akin to a permanent PVP shop where you grind PVP xp/reputation for the different tiers and use salt as your tokens. This would give PVP players way more control over their progression and eliminate the frustrating RNG elements involved in acquiring gear/rewards.
sadly I think part of the reason why rewards are low is due to bad actors. They would have to add a lot of systems to prevent people just feeding each other rewards because trust me those neck beard pve players would do it.
Are there any plans to change the way wars are fought? I am not sure if you're aware, but wars are still being fought by the same 90-100 people(warloggers). Companies get around the current restrictions by buying new accounts, leveling to 60, and buying all the gear needed. These rich companies can afford to pay these 90-100 players to log in to these shareable accounts and dominate the map. Take a look at any of the maps - it's the same two or three companies with 4 to 5 territories. The current system excludes people who actually form the communities that MMOs typically encourage. The same people who buy your cosmetic store items and season passes. Wouldn't it be more beneficial for everyone to cater to the communities instead of the warloggers?
Overall influence races is the only important type of content that NW was missing - mass open world PvP for big guilds and everyone who want to joint (opposite to 50v50 wars for chosen ones). But I still think that you should make towers a miny medieval forts (like exists in monarch's bluffs) instead of just few textures and platforms.
The time slots need to be pushed an hour or two back as a base to allow people to get home from work. Something more interactive than the objects set by pvp missions would be nice. Few examples are if you are in a fort or tower and stay alive for x minutes, or if you get a 3 player kill streak you get x influence, or maybe if you kill a boss while pvp flagged you get x influence and/or a passive buff (like baron in opr).
Hi. Thank you for all the work done on PVP. I still feel there is less focus on PVP than PVE. About influence races : - visually : it should be better, and easy to do since models already exist in the database. Like actual little forts/towers/camps. - Functionnaly : it should reward players for actually keeping these POI as soon as they are captured. Otherwise this is like pvp quests we know, with everybody constantly running around between points. Thank you.
The new "towers" really need to be made more grand- My mind goes straight to the Camelot- style corrupted castle with the nice gardens (I'm forgetting the name). Make it feel epic to contest, not fight over a sandcastle
Changes that could make influence races be amazing: Destructible camps during influence race Disable faction quests in the influence race zone when it's active. Destructible camps would make it alot more enjoyable for the factions fighting. It would lessen the strain on the zone/towers because players wouldn't keep spawning in that area indefinitely since one side would be pushed and camps would be destroyed. It would also bring a strategy to the race by forcing factions/companies to hide their camps, maybe keep a defending force, scout where the other factions have placed theirs. Disable faction quests during race is just for everyones peace of mind. Right now it's more beneficial to run the missions instead of fighting for the towers. Which we all hate doing, sorry but just being honest. The missions are really boring to do when the less efficient option but alot more fun is to pvp but the race need to be won.
Towers would've been better than the "many encampments" that y'all are adding. They are so open and boring to play around. Just zerg in with 30 people and you can easily take control with no thought. There is no "fort" or anything like that. It's literally like fighting on a construction site with no thoughtful areas to strategize and play around. Its extremely boring and requires no thought as people just zerg straight through them. Also stop putting so much stuff around the faction tokens. It is the most goddamn boring part of your game
Would be cool if maybe there were quests to capture/upgrade specific POIs that change per influence push. Almost like setting up a progressive fort that you can try to hold and gain points for the push.
I'm a casual player and I think the race slots will not allow all players to play the new PvP content. Many people like me come home from work between 6pm and 7pm and are busy with real life activities at the 8pm. You should make this content more casual and much more frequent throughout the day or make it always accessible even at later times (consider a system like the wvwvw of GW2). Furthermore, as others have already said, you should allow the modification of attributes for free (or at a very low cost) in order to allow you to play multiple builds without necessarily having to spend a fortune.
So basically if u do anything else for work besides construction we get shafted on the influence races. Ok. I log on at 8pm and so does anyone serving or working retail etc, 6 7 and 8 are cool but some of us work lol. Please add later races
"Go run an influence race, super fun content.'' Would just like to say, that Wars were already so closed off to the majority of the gaming community that most didn't even try with 625 Best in slot gear and companies only slotting in their best player. So some people who wanted to help could only help by taking territory. I understand with the gear change that will improve and get better. Though making it only 3 hours to push for territory has closed access to a lot of the community who can't play at those times. You think the first thought would have been to run it during the times Wars can be held. I think that is 6 pm to 11 pm server time. I can't remember because it's been so long since I've been in a war someone please correct me if I'm wrong. To make the event only 3 hours long at those specific times, you have completely closed off access to a decent amount of community members. I am not one of them I will say that I have all the time in the world due to medical problems but I do have company members who have voiced their opinion on this and how they will never get to try the event unless they have a day off from work. Not to even mention their family. I am concerned with the state of New World and the developers behind it because you have seen how closed off the end game and PVP content was and wanted to fix that and in doing so also made another event that is/can be even more closed off to the player base. Just a thought as a Company leader and a community member with the community's best interest. Maybe get a community census for feedback and listen to your player base (New World Discord is a terrible place to say anything because I've been in a few posts that had a lot of feedback on them that just got deleted.) Maybe don't be so secretive with what you're doing and be open to the community about some stuff. Secrets are fine but doing Q&As where you don't answer any of the pre-picked questions and just putting out videos to the community saying you can't talk about it, or keep posted to hear about it in the future is just a waste of time for everyone who watches it. I am also sure it's costing you money and time to make those pointless videos (referring to only ones where no one learns anything new). You are losing the trust of the community and I enjoy the game and can't wait to try the expansion. I just hate that right now the majority of the community is worried that if this expansion is a flop in any way, people will be done playing this game (information which you should know if you have been actually putting in any effort to listen to the community).
Will say I am reading a lot of the comments on this video that have people who are also concerned and have input on ideas you could use. Maybe you should read the comments on your videos and reply to them so the community at least knows you are reading their messages. Not just copy and paste messages either, Read the comment think about it, and reply with a message that pertains to the comment. If the idea is great but not possible maybe say so or counter offer a solution. I see a lot of good feedback in the comments. Will you actually look at it and let us know you've seen it?
Allow mounts in OPR! It was super fun in the PTR, it's a fun casual game mode that does not have any consequences like war, allow us to have FUN! Here is mounts that you can't use in every game mode -.-
The main problem is the limited number of people on a same area. Some examples: > When we are too many players doing influence, we cannot enter inside the fort and fight for it because we are tp to the city (it is far away and we have to come back to do another quest than the fort). Is it normal to not be able to do a quest if the game is offering us the possibility to do it? All people cannot fight for the fort which represents a lot of points => unfair. > You want to take a tower, if too many people are around the tower, same trouble, you are sent to the city! > You die, your respawn is far away, but you want to come back to the fight, now too many people in the area, so you are sent to the city. It is boring! Let us fight! > Yes, races are cool but it is still PVE missions. Is it enjoying to wait 5 mns inside a fort to take it? As far from I know, it is not fun for any PVE or PVP players to wait inside a fort. We wait because all greens are inside, and the other cannot enter so it means no fight and we are tp to the city due to the number of players. > Is it fun to run on a horse to get something in the countryside? > Is it fun to wait 1mn30 somewhere and go back to the city? The problem is all these activities are PVE, but races are PVP activities and you are offering us PVE missions. It is fun because many people don't care about PVE missions and come to fight. So maybe you could imagine real PVP missions, real PVP activities... Of course it means to find a way to get more and more people in the same area. Your idea about creating 2 races at the same moment on 2 territories is not good. It is too simple, and it will divide the fun that we can get from races. You have to understand that we want open world fight, we don't care about PVE missions. So increasing the number of races can create the contrary of what you would = less people on the area, but also less people coming because no good fight anymore. Simply ask to real PVP players what they want, 100% sure that it is not ridding on a horse, wait inside a fort or somewhere in the countryside. They want to fight people, that's simple.
We should have 5-6 race per night , it create more content and allow more player to participate in war . Since day 1 we could only have +/- 33war per 2 week.... next expansion....+/- 33 again..... youve change the path to but not the end part...what a shame and WHY start race at 6pm when the vast majority of people are still coming home or trying to eat without feeling pressure there gonna miss a race window
It would be nice if you had a way to actually get assistance with in game issues. I’ve been trying for 6months and no results with your chat/email system AGS. Dropping a paid expansion but can’t answer emails….You wonder why the player base is gone.
This should be something special and rewards should be adjusted accordingly. Open world pvp was popular because the xp rewards were extremely favorable. The xp was swiftly nerfed, (big surprise) and then everyone stopped. This is a wonderful opportunity to give players what they always wanted. Rewards and an ACTUAL sense of accomplishment. I used to make hundreds of thousands of coin auto running through influence quests griefing companies into a split push. The sooner features like that end the faster people will enjoy open world pvp. Still a big fan just patiently waiting
1. This was supposed to come eight months ago, and didn't. Why? This is the only "major" piece of PvP content in the expansion, and Scot Lane was "disappointed" we weren't satisfied, when it's literally /eight months late/. 2. The "towers" aren't towers, or forts, or anything. They're a few garbage piles of sticks, rocks, and platforms. Everyone was expecting cool, mini-forts, and what we got is a meme. It's a great commentary on how little AGS cares about PvPers, but it's not anything like it was hyped up to be. 3. A narrow time window with three a day is going to lock out a lot of people with late or early work schedules, as well as still leave the majority of the day with no reason to OW PvP minus forts. 4. The fun of open world is that it's dynamic, and having locked locations makes them heavily lack that, especially since the locations are boring and borderline nonexistent. I don't completely hate locked locations for this if we had other open world content...But we don't. Give us reasons to fight EVERYWHERE with merchant caravans, popup events (like king of the hill), things like that. Even turning an entire zone PvP randomly (and, heck, make it 65 players only so people leveling don't have to flag). There's so much you could do, and this...ain't it. There are so many cool POIs - give us reasons to be at them, both PvP and PvE.
I suggest calling it ruins, or simply "locations", using the word "fort" is a bit, let's say, embarrassing. Pls make the "locations" actually interesting and cool places before 2026 ❤🩹 And I hope we never have to run the old PvP missions never again, it was SO BORING for so many hours, for 2 years....
I just looked up the watch towers... Wow talk about expectations vs reality.. It was like you talked about this mansion and when I showed up it was a cardboard box. I hope NW succeeds but this was very LOW effort 👎
It will be interesting to see how long this lasts before people get bored and realise there’s very little point in showing up to defend. I’d imagine in the long term, it will be entertainment for small groups that don’t mind dying over and over again but they will have no chance against the bigger companies that are pushing and the whole system will be pointless and just a time sink, much like it is currently.
The 3x45 min windows is absolutely terrible. You need to open this up over 12 hours each day or something, let the fight rage on from 9am to 9pm or something like that. This will allow people from all walks of life to participate in the influence race. Make sure the rewards are decent (exp & items) and the people will come...
Community question: I love the changes and I love that you are promoting more open world pvp, it's the only pvp I like. Please consider making pvp zones in the future. Also pvp servers with drop all on death would be sweet!
I just don't see enough here from the current system to say this will force players into the zones. There will be some action just because the system is new but I suspect it will trail off fast and we'll be back to small teams sitting around bored in the new push windows the same as we do today. There may be a few contested windows for some territories but thats about it. It still seems like boring gameplay elements and a lot of running / standing around hoping another player bothers to come and fight.
Appreciate the effort but there is some delusion here. Want people to open world pvp? Give them amazing rewards, not "a little bit better" rewards. No one is going to want to go push influence unless they want to war, and if some top company is holding a territory, no one is going to want to fight them. The cache at the end was a single blue item. Players should have been dropping 590+ gs the last 2 years but it was only 500 and now finally they can drop high gear score items. The races will be good when not a top tier company holds the territory and multiple companies want to take it, period the end. But most top tier companies dominate the maps. Need to put territory ownership limits and maybe some kind of buffs if its been held for too long. If a company owns a territory, they shouldn't be able to own another one. Use the territory payout tiers as a ranking system of companies.
gonna need to do a whole lot to make it good, it really isnt anything special looks wise and idea. capturing the point is just like we have opr, wars. and the design of it is really bad and simple.
Some of us are single parents. I have twins who are 8 and I have dinner, homework, sports, etc. 6/7/8pm are shitty times for people with actual lives. Plus the queues for my server are like an hour long at “prime time.” Change the times please, 8/9/10 would be 10x better.
I think as players, we want to see the map used more. That’s my only disappointment after seeing the towers and seeing this video, I like the concept, I like the WANT to bring people to play together and open world pvp together. But we want the cool models you’ve made, used! Fuck the lvl 20 doing his quest, he can go chop wood or do a side quest for an hour while the tower area is being fought for. But let’s use the cool map you’ve made!
I am an avid pvper so normally I am in here talking my shit, but this time I just wanna say thank you for really putting in the work to move towards a more rewarding and compelling open world pvp experience. The Cyrodil Refugees are about to go NUTS. Please, though don't stop here? there are so many POIs and environments and sandboxes within aeturnum prime for player interaction and storytelling- in that way that only PvPers can do! Openworld on Top!
One thing I would like to see is a bit more flexibility with the Overwolf New World Minimap application. Right now, it's been crippled down to completely useless due to game sanctions. While I understand you don't want us to know where everything is, at least give us the opportunity to mark gathering node locations. I realize animals roam but give us at least something useful for those who install the minimap mod. Please.
you didn't answer the big question. Is it still a lottery for the companies that participated in influence race? One thing that always I dislike. Is when large company did 70% of the influence push and some other company the little influence push. then the company the did little win the lottery. Second dislike is limit the number of territory's a company can own. The server I'm on has one company with 4 territory's. Maybe make it if a company loses a invasion, they lose income for week and if they can't pay the taxes make the territory go back to neutral. So company can race to take it over.
Storehouses are the bane of this game, just make it a bank system than can be accessed in all towns it’s just so grindy and lame we just wanna collect store and craft. It’s like bloody inventory management game all the time.
Thank you guys for doing what you can to make the game better. Please don't forget the PVE players and focus on PVP updates all the time. Just a comment. Warhammer MMO did all this and it failed. More public events!
3v3 ranked with respective titles to show off in open world when? ok back to topic: getting people together via specific time dates is really cool i think.
Everyone is being too generous with their complaints. We still have to push missions. Declaring sounds like it will still be random amongst the companies who are in the winning faction which is bad. It seems like this system will favor mega companies that dominate the map since only 3 territories are randomly selected removing triple or quad decs.I heard pretty much everyone unanimously say the rewards were awful on ptr and yet the devs keep on preaching the rewards over and over. The towers are also just piles of rubble in most areas?? I also wouldn’t be surprised if the devs forgot about how when too many players show up near the fort people get sent back to town which will just be hilarious to see. This system seems half baked at best and ears are still extremely gated anyways and if rewards aren’t worth it, peoppe will lose interest eventually.
It's okay, but what about anything else, say like a new opr map like weve been asking for for 2 years? More Modes in general for pvp? more content for pvp? a refresh to pvp influence to get into wars is nice to change things up but war is limited to say 100 people at a time and generally is gated content to a lot of people, I just feel there could be a lot more pvp content 2 years in, when will we as pvp players get a dedicated major update to give us multiple new modes, multiple new maps specific to pvp? and especially a pvp version of opr, current opr gets tiredsome when pve wins the games and we have no other large scale mode to queue up for to do pvp that isnt super limited like wars are? its not fun when a fort has been pve'd and a single person can out repair the doors to like 5-10 people attacking it....also back capping meta is boring af, make the system of capping like BF Rush mode you have to cap your home base and then the next in order, not be a little weasel and go back cap and then youre team has to do a marathon back and forth to grab it back constantly, its unfun and boring.
Please please make sure it is 3 races a day and not up to 3 races a day. I know so many people that want to war but can’t cause only the elite can war so they just quit the game. Having a guaranteed 3 wars a day will allow the elites to have their fill and still allow new players to war. If it’s up too 3 wars and you have nights with only 1 war that means the 100 elite get to play and the thousands of folks get screwed.
Feedback: allow both the attacking factions and defending factions the chance to spend gold on these new objectives to change how the fights flow. These changes are a great Start but like most of the others in these comments i think they simply feel like the ground work for more to hopefully come. Tie in siege gear that you can buy from a specific war vendor that can only be deployed around these "towers", give defenders a big reward that Stops wars from happening as an option, if they want the war to happen they can but only if they win. Honestly having to war and fight off people 24/7 isnt super fun especially when your company is offline. And finally allow the companies that own the territory the chance to actually change these "tower" over time by investing and spending gold into them. Maybe they want to add a tower? Perhaps walls around the point? Maybe traps surrounding it or a lake to slow down attackers with... alligators???? Just... i think we want to see more direct control over things as companies and owners of these zones. With all that said this Is a great start for some big things in the future imo.
It's perhaps a good idea to perhaps play other games with good world pvp designs before making your own. This tower system and modified influence mission still is a weak content generator. For good world pvp there needs to be a friction and demand to it. This feels more like a daily event activity to go and participate than something desirable. Sieging the territories foe its income, tax/trade caravans that need escort or can be raided, theae are the dynamic type events that drive conflict. Also world pvp improvements built upon a weaknfaction system instead of a guild/alliance based system still suffers from the snowball issues of poor faction balancing across servers. Over time if this is also turned into a cross server RvR type content it might have a shot at being good. But for now there is a lot left to be desired for world pvp enthusiasts.
There is still work to be done with influence and faction-company, Influence Rush needs to happen at the same time in all territories of the same Company, there are companies that have 3+ territories (war-loggers, multi-steam shared accounts) this is a well-known issue that have been already asked to fix since many have different companies in different servers/worlds, and most are run by the same people. Companies that own multiple territories should be able to defend them (war and invasion), if you change the Influence Rush to happen on all these territories at the same you will be solving this issue.
As someone who is rank 1 influence GLOBAL 3 TIMES....the vision you have with the game are not in line with the reality of your community at all. Wars of fun but no one wants to get farm everday. Open world pvp will happen but no 1 will sign up for the war. Hopefully you dont make people sign up to stand and play defense against no 1. I mean are any of the 3 of you doing this video in a war company that owns a terry?
'we called them towers., but they are alot more interesting than that." Sorry but no, I have to disagree here. Two podiums with a plank of wood running between them is not what I call interesting at all. Now imagine fighting over some of those castles in Monarch's Bluff? THAT would be pretty interesting. Also if rewards are based only on pvp kills, I guess you want to discourage healers from participating?
You always made the same mistake. There are more people waiting in queue for the game than those playing the game. -Asgard 1 -Asgard 2 -Asgard 3 -Asgard war -Abaton 1 -Abaton 2 -Abaton 3 -Abaton war Bring such a system urgently. Opening a new server is just nonsense. My lvl 65 character is sitting there and I can't access it. @everyone
Don't think this is going to change a thing for Open world PvP. Giant groups will control everything still and those some groups of PvP who want to have fun are just going to get steamrolled and quit the game. Keep shooting yourself in the foot 😢
TOWERS v2 is great, but pls pls pls change those point building, or rather to say ruins, into something better, into little towers remove all the wooden structures, .they are not towers pls they are ugly ass ruins pls..
COMMUNITY QUESTION: PvP players, what do you think about the changes?
When we getting V3?
V3? more pvp modes would be great a opr that has zero pve in it War Practice mode would be clutch
The OPR camp would be better than what they now have in PTR?
It was an after thought. Mission push sucked and this is less crap version of that. They didn’t actually put thought or want any new pvp content in game for expansion. Opr map would of took almost no resources to deliver for expansion. And….maybe they would run advertising for it then
why not use actual forts/castle landmarks as pvp hotspots? that way we'll have a reason to revisit beautiful old landmarks aswell. rotate between them.
My guess... performance. That might also explain why the structures for the "towers" are pretty simple. Also, not to interfere with PvE players doing quests in those areas.
Man they must do that instead of weird platform... PLEASE UPVOTE THIS GOOD MAN
mini forts is a bold statement... we need more than 3 piles of wood
rewards where kinda trash on PTR aswell...
Fort locks are super nice to have them back!
but still.... Pls rework even more... this cant be final
Edit: Played it a few times on Live now and it actually is a lot more fun than it was on PTR. The problems are not as apparent when a lot of people are playing it and the condensed Open World PvP is great.
Main problems with the v2:
- rewards are not good
- towers are too far from each other
- no good way of seeing if you are winning or not
- boring layout of towers
Main advantages over v1:
- good time windows and easy way to find flagged players for Open World PvP
Generally this is only a slight upgrade to v1 and is still very bad.
We have mounts now so idk if that far from each other is a big issue
@@OGParzoval you get more legos doing regular dungeons. are you referring to the counter when you press M and hover over the territory? that is not a good way of seeing if you are winning or losing. it needs something like the opr counter on top and also some scoreboard to see how you were doing. Also some big notifications when something is happening and also some indication how other towers are doing/ who is capping them atm. I don't think that open world PvP should require to work with your faction/ company ... just let ppl have fun and get in there. the towers look so incredibly uninspired if you compare them to other assets in the game.
So if they :
- increase rewards (which is quick to do)
- Add a progression bar in the interface (which is quick too)
- Choose to pick some existent places instead of these crappy structures (which is medium but not dev breakin time)
Then we could have a A+ open pvp system
Please AGS listen to us
looking like we'll need a V3
True 😂
hahahahhahaha
Idk why they don't just remove pvp quests entirely. We want to play tdm not walk around simulator.
Make a kill = 1 point for ur faction and the first faction to 300pts wins (or most pts after 30 min (reduced from 45)).
Your faction gets 1 more point per kill for each fort/outpost, they control. And each time your faction completes a capture on one it gives 15 points.
@@SirPackageRLI don’t know why they don’t just ask the community what they should be doing. Instead of coming up with their own stuff “hoping” we like it.
Might as well start working on Influence V3 already, preferably with a different dev team. What we saw on the PTR was a joke.
Great criticism, really, keep it up.
Cooler POIs for the PvP “towers” would have been nice
Great idea to be honest
I really love this game and especially the PvP combat. I have to say however, this dev team has put in what seems to be minimal effort toward the PvP side of the game. In two years time we have the same battleground that we’ve had since launch and 2 arena maps. This game gets a new expedition with every update (about every 3 months). Let’s get some more focus for the PvP side of the game and for the PvP players. New battleground mode and map. RANKED 3v3 arenas. New arena maps at at least half the rate of each expedition. We should be seeing new PvP content at least every 6 months.
did we see placeholders for the towers on ptr? like they really hype them up, but what i saw on ptr was really disappointing
it's going to be interesting to see how players respond to the changes.
I don't seeing V2 working out as intended lol...
> "War is a really fun gamemode" / "People weren't counter-pushing because they wanted the war content"
Then why is it completely gatekept where only 1% of your playerbase can actually participate in them?
THESE CHANGES ARE AMAZING. STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION --- FINALLY. I LOVE YOU PATRICK, I LOVE YOU DAN, I LOVE YOU RACHEL, LETS GO!
I would love to see the "Towers" in the pvp race be actual forts.
Mf wrote a whole essay ☠️☠️☠️
@@Mfanclub tbf they yeeted the forums so gotta provide feedback somewhere especially if they're asking for it this seems the time to provide it.
Good start but feel v3 should be worked on asap..
As lots of people work late in the week.. would be good to have the race run later also
Generally I just think PVP is handled without a lot of consideration as to what PVP players actually want to do in this game.
(An example that immediately comes to mind is doing stuff like "kill x amount of players with one-handed weapons." We know due to the season system that it isn't impossible to code something like this.)
_MOST IMPORTANTLY HOWEVER,_ I think anyone who plays PVP seriously generally feels unrewarded for the amount of time and resources it takes to engage with it, ESPECIALLY if they're a player that isn't a part of a territory-owning guild.
Mini forts what a joke
AKA, a few ruins, rocks and stop counting. It's actually really shocking, in the worst way....
There’s still a lot missing
The time slots need to be pushed an hour or two back as a base to allow people to get home from work. Something more interactive than the objects set by pvp missions would be nice. Few examples are if you are in a fort or tower and stay alive for x minutes, or if you get a 3 player kill streak you get x influence, or maybe if you kill a boss while pvp flagged you get x influence and/or a passive buff (like baron in opr).
Thanks for making the influence push times when 80% of my company is not online. Thank you for adding another layer of gatekeeping wars.
Hi. Thank you for all the work done on PVP. I still feel there is less focus on PVP than PVE.
About influence races :
- visually : it should be better, and easy to do since models already exist in the database. Like actual little forts/towers/camps.
- Functionnaly : it should reward players for actually keeping these POI as soon as they are captured.
Otherwise this is like pvp quests we know, with everybody constantly running around between points.
Thank you.
Hype !!!!
All those who helped from the winning faction should receive part of the gold from the city 💵💲
The new "towers" really need to be made more grand- My mind goes straight to the Camelot- style corrupted castle with the nice gardens (I'm forgetting the name). Make it feel epic to contest, not fight over a sandcastle
Changes that could make influence races be amazing:
Destructible camps during influence race
Disable faction quests in the influence race zone when it's active.
Why don't I get rewards for races? I hold towers/fort and get kills, but haven't received any rewards since last update.
I actually imagined they add a buff that impacts the war if you win or lose the race, but for some reason, it is Fun, Okay.
Would be cool if maybe there were quests to capture/upgrade specific POIs that change per influence push. Almost like setting up a progressive fort that you can try to hold and gain points for the push.
Patrick gives me heavy "Gabe" vibes from The Office. xD
Keep it up Patrick, you're great.
I hope the rewards was buffed
I was really hoping for more interesting PVP areas to fight at for influence. So many assets in the world would make amazing places to fight.
Such a lazy update for what you claimed would shake up the PvP scene.
I agree with this 100% but good luck with them actually looking or doing anything dif.
Remove pvp quest for pushing, we wanna pvp not quest.
Allow mounts in OPR!
It was super fun in the PTR, it's a fun casual game mode that does not have any consequences like war, allow us to have FUN! Here is mounts that you can't use in every game mode -.-
The main problem is the limited number of people on a same area. Some examples:
> When we are too many players doing influence, we cannot enter inside the fort and fight for it because we are tp to the city (it is far away and we have to come back to do another quest than the fort).
🍾🍾
Please add Halloween decorations to the OPR forts!!! Throw up a couple skeletons and pumpkins!! 🎃
I suggest calling it ruins, or simply "locations", using the word "fort" is a bit, let's say, embarrassing.
Pls make the "locations" actually interesting and cool places before 2026 ❤🩹
And I hope we never have to run the old PvP missions never again, it was SO BORING for so many hours, for 2 years....
Why isn't faction gear better? More customizable or higher gear score?
MY COMMUNITY QUESTION: WHEN NAME CHANGES THANK YOU
🤘
gonna need to do a whole lot to make it good, it really isnt anything special looks wise and idea. capturing the point is just like we have opr, wars. and the design of it is really bad and simple.
That’s my only disappointment after seeing the towers and seeing this video,
I like the concept,
I like the WANT to bring people to play together and open world pvp together.
But we want the cool models you’ve made, used!
Fuck the lvl 20 doing his quest, he can go chop wood or do a side quest for an hour while the tower area is being fought for.
But let’s use the cool map you’ve made!
Did you change the forts from the PTR? If not you guys are really over hyping them they are just wood planks you don’t gotta navigate anything …
They should make the times better, yes there is alot that play in the evening but some play in the morning so why not space the influence times out
I am an avid pvper so normally I am in here talking my shit, but this time I just wanna say thank you for really putting in the work to move towards a more rewarding and compelling open world pvp experience. The Cyrodil Refugees are about to go NUTS. Please, though don't stop here? there are so many POIs and environments and sandboxes within aeturnum prime for player interaction and storytelling- in that way that only PvPers can do! Openworld on Top!
"Towers"
One thing I would like to see is a bit more flexibility with the Overwolf New World Minimap application. Right now, it's been crippled down to completely useless due to game sanctions. While I understand you don't want us to know where everything is, at least give us the opportunity to mark gathering node locations. I realize animals roam but give us at least something useful for those who install the minimap mod. Please.
Rachel gets it. What a lass
Keep up the great work !
you didn't answer the big question.
It’s like bloody inventory management game all the time.
we don't need those towers, just bring some of the POI into account, this is simple and easy.
Thank you guys for doing what you can to make the game better. Please don't forget the PVE players and focus on PVP updates all the time. Just a comment. Warhammer MMO did all this and it failed. More public events!
i like Rachel, this is decent system, wanna let Rachel handle fire staff balancing?
The best thing you can do is separate the faction system from the guild system.
3v3 ranked with respective titles to show off in open world when? ok back to topic: getting people together via specific time dates is really cool i think.
This will give entire factions a reason to participate. I can already hear people drumming up reinforcements in faction chat. Sound the war horns!
More Modes in general for pvp? more content for pvp? a refresh to pvp influence to get into wars is nice to change things up but war is limited to say 100 people at a time and generally is gated content to a lot of people, I just feel there could be a lot more pvp content 2 years in, when will we as pvp players get a dedicated major update to give us multiple new modes, multiple new maps specific to pvp? and especially a pvp version of opr, current opr gets tiredsome when pve wins the games and we have no other large scale mode to queue up for to do pvp that isnt super limited like wars are? its not fun when a fort has been pve'd and a single person can out repair the doors to like 5-10 people attacking it....also back capping meta is boring af, make the system of capping like BF Rush mode you have to cap your home base and then the next in order, not be a little weasel and go back cap and then youre team has to do a marathon back and forth to grab it back constantly, its unfun and boring.
we need pvp only zone
Optimize the game that's what you all should do. 40 fps on RTX 3070...
With all that said this Is a great start for some big things in the future imo.
we need ranked arena and a new outpost rush map, or something like capture the flag. Sorry but this is just not enough for pvp.
Like ppl weren't countering a push cuz 'they wanted the fun war'. 😂
Please do better
why are you forcing us to play pvp to recover artifacts DROP LVL 100+ ITS OK ??? MY PLAYED 2 YARDS PVE !!!!!!!
You always made the same mistake. There are more people waiting in queue for the game than those playing the game.
-Asgard 1
-Asgard 2
-Asgard 3
-Asgard war
-Abaton 1
-Abaton 2
-Abaton 3
-Abaton war
Bring such a system urgently. Opening a new server is just nonsense. My lvl 65 character is sitting there and I can't access it.
@everyone
Don't think this is going to change a thing for Open world PvP. Giant groups will control everything still and those some groups of PvP who want to have fun are just going to get steamrolled and quit the game. Keep shooting yourself in the foot 😢
Whoever zergs hardest wins the race
Towers? More like 4 planks of wood.
TOWERS v2 is great, but pls pls pls change those point building, or rather to say ruins, into something better, into little towers remove all the wooden structures, .they are not towers pls they are ugly ass ruins pls..
